"Sydney go get her something to eat and drink now." Said Rinor to the boy. 'Yes sir." Sydney said leaving quickly and the door closed. After that a few days had passed and things remains peaceful. Nobody pressured Kana to leave her room since she was so scared and Sydney continued caring for her bringing her meals and fetching everything she needed.

Knocking on her door around lunch time he came in and set her tray down. "The elder insists you eat more then just one meal a day so I brought you some lunch." Said Sydney.

Corey was out in the courtyard just laying on a patch of grass enjoying the warmth of the sun when one of the servants tossed dirty water out the window not knowing he was there. It splashed on him and he coughed and spluttered jumping up.

Ahnvae walked past them all in a single quick movement, the door closing behind him. The cloaked and masked man walked over, carefully placing a hand on her shaking shoulder. "Princess.... It is alright.... He is only a boy.... He will be bringing in your food.... And there is a small washing area for you to use just off this room...." After a few moire minutes or gentle, soft-spoken words, Ahnvae left the room, shutting the door softly. He looked towards Himawari, who gave a smile for just a split second. "Everything is good now.... Just don't get closer than the table beside the bed, and everything will remain calm."

Corey's head lowered and Rinor said, "We must approach cautiously boy." Hearing two startled yells from the back room the door swung open and the boy who had been taking care of Kana quickly ran out and snapped it shut. "She's awake and spazzing out maybe a familiar face will calm her down!" He said quickly. "Himawari go calm her down." Said Leo softly.

Ahnvae shifted on his feet, his right hand tightening as he grasped the edge of his cloak. "Three people have already been killed in the palace, with the two Council members that were on your side dead as well." Ahnvae was the greatest tracker and informationist in three countries, with his home base in Rivain. After a moment, he motioned his left hand in the general direction of the room where Kana was still unconscious. "Our princess must be kept safe. There is a secret not even Rinor see, and if it comes to light for the wrong person, it could spell disaster for all of us."

The door opened behind him and Corey was led in. Looking pale but he smiled actually seeing everyone for the first time. Collapsing in a chair he said, "This place is prettier then my home land. It's a shame I have to go home soon though and kick those old bastards off their high horses for doing this to me. I can't thank your people enough." "You can't return...." Said Andre's father Rinor suddenly. "I have to the longer I wait the more I have to lose." Said Corey. "Listen child you're in grave danger if you return. Just hear me out stay here for a while till we decide how to handle this carefully. Or it could cost you your life..." Said Rinor softly. "My father is good at what he says." Said Andre speaking up.

Himawari shifted on her feet, and then going over to lift a little of a curtain. "I had no idea it was that bad...." She turned, just in time for a man in a long black cloak, about six inches over six feet, to enter. "You know, you don't have to scream so loud, Master Shibata." His voice was a deep, rich rumble that seemed to portray a sense of supernatural calm. The man moved past everyone, coming to stand behind and to the right of Himawari. "Keep it to yourself, Ahnvae." She said with a low tone, closing her eyes as she settled down to sit on the floor.

Leo strugggled to heave her up saying, "I'm going to have back problems when I become old I swear." Footsteps were heard tbat moment as a man came walking forward. Though when he lay eyes on kana his face turned pale and he doubled over. "Father!" Cried Andre running over seeing he too was about to collapse as well. "Just what's going on some sickness or something." Said Barrie running over catching Andre's father as he went down to his knees. "That.... woman... how horrible... I can't even stomach what I just saw.." He said slumping into Barrie's arms.

"Someone get the doctor these two need something to keep them relaxed." Said Barrie as he and Andre helped the elven king up. After that Kana had been put in a room and Andre's father had passed out in his chair in the sitting area. "He must have seen something about her. I never seen the king collapse like this before." Said Barrie in a low voice to the others who were gathered around.

After that Leo came pushing Himawari in saying, "All she needs is rest right now." He closed the door and said, "Andre how's our king doing?" "The oracle is using a purfication spell on him. Once he purges him of that curse it'll let his eye sight return." Said Andre. "And your father is he okay?" Asked Leo softly. "He should be fine he's gifted in more ways then one as my mother would say. It's hard on him sometimes seeing not onhis own choice." Said Andre softly.

Kana's body twitched at the sound of a voice that carried much psychic energy in its words, and the woman simply collapsed to the ground. Himawari instantly went down on her knees, giving 'the look' to any elf that moved towards them. "I don't know nearly enough.... but none of the elven need to mess with her. Leo? Could you grab her for me? And if there is any place we can take her please direct us to it." She asked the nearest elf with a calm voice, and a straight face.

Andre finally made it to the gates at the base of the tree the two guards opened them immediatly and they entered. "Welcome to my home you guys one of you grab the blind one and I'll take him immeditely to the oracle." Said Andre. Corey found himself helped out by Ryuuta and Andre took his hand though he didn't have to go far as a cloaked figure approached them. Pulling back their hood a wise looking elf with white hair just placed his hand to Corey's forehead. "Can you help him?" Asked Andre. "It'll be tricky but yes I can come with me." Said the oracle leading Corey off.

Halfway towards the tree, Himawari noticed, out of the corner of her eyes, that Kana's stance and walking gait had changed from uptight and angry, to uptight and.... scared? The master-teacher slowed her walk, and placed a hand on Kana's right arm. The physical contact allowed her to pinpoint her powers, and as long as she kept some kind of physical contact with Kana, the woman seemed much more relaxed.

When morning came after a small breakfast they headed on their way. Except this time Leo and Ryuuta walked alongside the carriage along with Barrie who was holding Andre on his shoulders as he walked. The young prince was so small he was easy to carry. Corey finally felt less crammed thanks to most of them walking and he was able to hog a seat to himself and relax the whole time.

Finally the capital came in view and it was a sight to see. The world tree as it was called rested on the center. Ryuuta blinked and said, "Am I seeing things or your people can fly?" "Nah we can we prefer to call ourselves divine elves and we're blessed with the gift of flight." Said Andre hopping off Barrie's shoulders. He continured walking and everyone who saw him ended up bowing in respect or wishing him a good afternoon.

Kana made a noise, and went to get up to walk off, but Himawari tossed that super-scary, uber-calm, stare she used when she was irritated, and Kana sat back down in a huff. Himawari ran her hand over the fire, and it flared up blue for a second before getting low so that way no one would roll over and burn their hand if it got to close. "Then everyone should get sleep. If you are not rested, the rest of the way is going to be more irritating than normal." She pulled her cloak close around her and sat up, closing her eyes and slipping into a meditative calm.

Leo pulled Corey up and after a bit of packing and huge fuss. Everyone was crammed in the same carriage. Corey as uncomfortable as he was managed to doze off on the ride there. It would be a two day trip so by the time they crossed the border without any trouble. They set up camp for the night near some lake. "Man my back is killing me and now I have to sleep on the ground..." Said Corey wincing.

"The captial is a morning drive away we stopped for the sake of giving everyone a chance to stretch. Now quit whining the countryside isn't that bad." Said Andre. "If only you could see the stars Corey." Said Leo. "All I smell is a bunch of wet dirt I'll be sleeping on..." Said Corey. Ryuuta had lay out a blanket and had make sure everything was set up before he led Corey over to lay down. "I take offense to the dirt comment the palace ain't made out of stone in fact it's called the world's tree for a reason." Said Andre.

Himawari turned and disappeared up the stairs. After five minutes, she was seen coming down the stairs, dragging Kana along behind her by keeping a tight grip on the right sleeve of her cloak, its hood pulled low over her face. "We are going to do border patrol and clean-up. Ryuuta, you and Leo need to get Corey ready to go." Without another word, Himawari disappeared out the front door with a very obviously reluctant Kana.

Andre who jerked away just looked at her and to Corey. "I'll do it or it's more like I'm the only one here with the gift... It's one child every six generations that has such power after all. It's that rare of a gift... It's usually limited to nobility in our land..." Said Andre walking over. "So it's true that you can reverse the effects?" Asked Leo suddenly not bein able to believe Corey might be able to see again.

"Yeah should be easy enough for me his sight won't be perfect but I can return it to a point where he'll need to wear lens at least." Said Andre pulling a chair over and getting on it. Placing his hand to Corey's face he took a good look to see what he was dealing with. "Close your eyes..." Said Andre and Corey did as he was told.

His hand glowing he drew his fingers over Corey's forehead and then moved his palm over his eyes. "I can feel it... Whatever hit him wasn't just poison... He's been cursed to die..." Said Andre pulling his hand back. He shook his head and said, "It's not the poison this is way too strong for even me but don't lose hope just yet. Come with us.. back to our country back at my home there's an oracle who can actually remove this and restore him to full health.. You people are blind to anything considering black magic aka dark magic."

"I'm confused he didn't lose his eyesight because of the poison?" Asked Leo. "No point blank soneone put a hex on him. In other words a death curse." Said Andre hopping down off the chair. "He'd probably be dead within the year from this if I hadn't come." Andre then said. "I knew something didn't feel right. I swear once I get myself rid of this I'll come back and slay those old bastards myself." Said Corey firmly.

"Unless there is a pressing need for you three to be here, we need you to leave. We need as much room as possible." Himawari blinked slowly, glancing over her shoulder back towards the dining room. "Unless.... If the Kaaran elves can do it...." She looked back at the three 'sudden guests', her expression clear. "An assassin, sent by a group close to us, caused our displaced king to lose his sight. If you could help us, that would put our country and her people in your debt for one favor, to be repaid when needed."

The young male glared at her and said, "Where the hell are your manners. The people of this country suck in manners or what?" "This is my home you happened to waltz in and if I had my eyesight I'd be kicking you out." Said Corey frowning. "Oh... you're blind had no idea I was wondering why you haven't been making eye contact.." He said looking from her to Corey. "Andre!!" Yelled a sharp voice and the small elf gave a yelp as a hand tried to grab him from the window he sat by. Though quick as lightning he had bolted fast only to go running into Leo and Ryuuta. Landing on his ass with a yelp he rubbed his nose saying, "Who put that wall there!"

Andre looked up and saw the two men towering over him. "Now what am I in a land of giants!" Said Andre. Though the two of them were pushed aside as another man came rushing in grabbed Andre by his collar and Andre you caused me a lot of problems running off on your own!" Said Barrie annoyed. "I swear one day when I'm king I'll be tall enough to step on you and then you'll see how it feels to be looked down and stomped on!!" Yelled Adre thrashing

"Tough talk but your father is still alive and you're just a young teen by our standards now then apologize for disrupting these poor people." Said Barrie. "Tch... get lost!!" Yelled Andre thrashing even harder.

A angry hissing sound came from the doorway, and Kana stood there with narrowed eyes. "Elves...." Rolling her eyes, she quickly put the two bags she had away, and then retreating from sight. Himawari came in, dressed in traditional garbs, her hair pulled back from her face. For just a split second, her expression was colored with confusion, but it quickly went away when she spotted him. What is a fae-ling doing here?"

While Corey sat there eating he heard the window across from open and a young male hopped in before closing it. 'Whose there!" Said Corey suddenly making the boy jump and quickly run over clasping a hand over his mouth saying, "Be quiet you want them to catch me!" He then pulled up a chair saying, "Good grief nothing like being hounded and overly protected." He flopped down into it before saying, "Somethin smells good..." "Just who are you and why you in my home?" Asked Corey a bit nervous. "Relax I'm no intruder jiust let me hide her for a bit and then I'll leave okay?" Said the boy.

After a few more minutes of watching the pot on the fire like a hawk, she set a single place, with a large bowl of the special soup, along with a spoon and a very tiny shot of whiskey. Entering the living room, she grabbed Corey and stood him to his feet displacing all his weight so that she could carry him without him having to give out too much effort. She sat him down at the table and placed the spoon in his hand. "The soup is hot, so take as much time as you like. You need to eat all of it, and then take down this little bit of whiskey...." She looked down at her relatively raggedy appearance, and shook her head. "I need a bath." Turning, she headed up the stairs.

"Whatever..." Said Corey actually kicking the two men in their shins out of anger. "Just the two of you shut up already! My head is throbbing and I need some quiet!" Said Corey pissed. "Fine have fun sitting alone let's go get drunk in the village bar." Said Leo shoving Ryuuta out the door snapping shut. "Oh I will anything is better then listening to your bull shit!" Corey yelled after the two before laying back and rubbing his head.

"You will stay put. Even with sight gone, surprises can still be ruined by smell." Her voice was strict and level, the tone giving off the very real impression of no-nonsense from anyone. Especially whining. "And you only see them as nut cases, because them being nutcases is called male-bonding."

"Gah!! Himawari!!" Cried Leo soaked now Ryuuta snorted in laughter and Corey said, "Himawari take me in the kitchen with you so I can get away from these two nut heads." Said Corey frowning slightly.

The kitchen door open and a small glass went flying, before dumping in six ounces of water on Leo's head. "Act your age." Himawari's voice was as normal-sounding as ever, but her lips formed a smile, that went away just as quickly as it had came.

"Ow..." Corey whined softly and frowned after she walked away. "Jeez she's all business as usual..." He grumbled as usual. Leo and Ryuuta both laughed. "Well someone's a whipped boy and needs to be told his place." Said Leo with a grin making Corey blush.
