| Ami felt arms catch her as she fell, and though darkness began to seep from the corners of her vision she could make out Miyo leaning over her. The removal of her clothing would normally have bothered her but she was too out of it to protest. His words were growing fainter, as if a large black hand was pulling her away from the world, from him.
Ami felt the coolness of the ointment and the binding of the bandages. Miyo said something to her, whispered to her before blackness engulfed her.
~~~~~
She woke with a start several hours later, eyes snapping open as she sat up abruptly. A groan of pain escaped passed her lips as the sudden movement caused her wound to pull uncomfortably. Forcing herself to relax, Ami's eyes swept the tent she found herself in as she tried to recall just how she had got here.
A hand slipped beneath the blankets to touch her side and the fresh bandages that had been wound around her middle. The Prince. He had been tending to her wounds before everything had gone black. With that thought came another; was he here? A frown furrowed Ami's brow as she scanned the tent a second time, with more care than before.
She was in his bed? In his bed?! Eyes widened as she sat up slowly.
((I'm just going to refer to Miyo as a 'he' for now at least until Ami has figured it out.)) |
| When she fell, Miyo moved forward, catching her in her arms, barely thinking of whether the girl would feel the clothe bindings or not. Setting her on the ground, the Princess began to remove her clothes, knowing that no one would question the action, since it was common knowledge that she was an excellent healer. Looking at the wounds, she bit her lip and then said, as she took the top off the salve, "You won't be getting better soon. I think that you are lucky to have lived this long." Her fingers were covered in the cool, healing ointment as the touched lightly above the wound and then below it, stringing the healing mix over it, instead of rubbing it in. She crisscrossed the creamy mix until it looked like a spider web. When she looked at Ami's body, she swallowed hard at a stirring that the gentle curves caused in her mind and she thought that she had played the role of a male too long. Forcing all thoughts from her mind, she quick bound the other girl, in a similar way to her own side, but looser and with more care than she treated herself. "So very strong," Miyo whispered to the girl, who looked like she was completely out of it, though her eyes were still opened part way. Looking over her shoulder, she called, "Are the scouts back?" "Yes. There are no enemy forces in the area," Duku told her with grim satisfaction. The crowd whooped, since that meant they had done their job and also, there would be warm food. The Prince added her voice, a hoarse cry of victory that blended with the rest, but all could see her joy. Leaping to her feet, she called, "Hot food for all! Hunters, go out and claim as much game as you can! Some one start making broth for those wounded! Mothers and children, go gather berries! Wounded get better! Men that can't hunt, fetch water and gather fire wood, same with anyone else that doesn't yet have a job!" Once the crowd was moving away, Miyo scooped up the wounded girl and without thinking it over, took her to the tent that was for royalty. As was common for her, she had decided out of the blue to take Ami as a pet project, until the other girl was better. It was stupid and dangerous and if she had thought it over, the Princess probably would never have done it, but since it was spur of the moment and there was no one to tell her 'no', before long, the wounded girl was nestled on a heap of blankets, that Miyo cringed every time she saw. In the war, she felt bad that her people were cold most nights, but made certain she had a bed of sorts. _________________ My D.A.I am just one of the many victims in this sick joke called life. | His figure was blurred and Ami had to focus in order to make out just who approached her with such care and speed. It was only when he was upon her that she realised who's presence she slumped in. "My lord.." She greeted, though her words were almost slurred due to her loose grip upon consciousness. It bothered her that she could not attend to the proper etiquette necessary when in the presence of royalty.
The comment of her accidental discovery of the fruit tree was all but lost upon her until the fruit was pressed into her hand. To be considered brave by Prince Niyo was indeed an honour but Ami was barely able to focus upon his face let alone his words. "My name is Ami, my Lord, and i would be honoured if-.." She could not finish her words for suddenly her legs gave way and she slid the rest of the way to the ground.
There was something she could not place about Prince Niyo; she had heard tales of him and yet being in his presence now was different to what she had expected. Eyes slid closed as Ami struggled to remain conscious and her hand reached out instictively to grasp something solid. Her fingers curled around Niyo's forearm, not tightly but enough to make it's presence known.
"Thank you Sir."
((Alrighty, guess we just see how it goes.)) |
| After the few months of traveling and saving people, Miyo had picked up on the signs that someone was more wounded than they showed. When she looked up from pounding in a spike, the princess spied Ami and knew instantly that the girl was badly wounded. Her heart seized in worry and distress that they hadn't taken good enough care of the poor soul. It had been by mere luck that they had found the girl's village in time and Miyo could still remember the look of simple acceptance on the girl's face before she pierced the man's heart with her bow. Dropping the hammer carelessly on the ground, knowing someone else would pick up her job, she walked over to Ami. Taking a deep breath to make certain her voice would be steady when she addressed the girl, she felt a pang of pain from her chest and some of the smaller injuries on her burned as if demanded that they be treated as well, but the Prince barely gave them a though, since no one was more aware of how limited supplies were than her. Every night, she went through the supplies and wondered where they could get more, more food, more clothes, more medicine, more men. Always, there was something the resistance needed, but somehow, even with so much lacking, they kept going, kept at it, kept serving a prince that was dead. Shaking her head, she covered the last of the ground, noticing that some kids were already tending to her horse, as well as some of the other animals. They were tough kids, marching for many miles every day and never once complaining. It was inspirational to see them. Turning to one of the wagons that carried the medical supplies, she grabbed bandages as well as healing salve, before reaching the tree. With a smile, she said, "Good find." Stretching up, she captured a fruit and handed it to Ami, before touching the girl's wounded side and said softly, "You are really strong. What is your name and may I heal you? I don't mean to cause you any embarrassment or discomfort so if you'd rather one of the women...?" Her sapphire eyes sparkled as she looked at the blond, admiring her delicate features and curves, the feminine beauties that she herself would never be able to display. It was amazing, how into the role of being male she had gotten, knowing when to excuse herself and when to look away. At first she hadn't done the best job at hiding who she was, but most around her had been too distressed to notice that the prince's smile was too soft or that his voice was too high. Now, none could guess...or so she hoped.  ((OOC:/ Yeah...I don't know. I sort of think they could fall for each other fast, but it takes a while for them to admit it, since the Princess is afraid to get too near anyone.)) _________________ My D.A.I am just one of the many victims in this sick joke called life. | ((Righty, not a problem. Just thought i'd check. So they are traveling with the Prince(ss) then? Got it. You wanting an insta-romance or something a little more gradual?))  The order to stop and set up camp was music to Ami's ears as she propped herself against a nearby tree. Everything hurt. Her feet weary from trudging through the countryside, the wound in her side pulsing with each beat of her heart and the ache of all that she had lost. Combined together Ami was amazed she had managed thus far. Her life had been a simple one, spent exclusively withina simple farming village. She knew nothing of fighting, nothing of war and violence. They had been slaughtered and even with advanced warning Ami doubted they would have faired any better. Her suvival had solely been down to the timely arrival of Prince Niyo and his men.
Thrown to the ground by the hand of her enemy, she had lain upon her back with an open wound in her side, awaiting her death. A man stood over her, sword raised above his head, expression twisted by pain due to a wound in his thigh which she had inflicted. Certain her end was about to come, Ami's eyes had closed and body tensed in anticipation of the final blow.
It never arrived. Instead there was a thud and a clatter followed by shouts and cries of alarm. She opened her eyes to a swarm of men bearing down upon the village's attackers, her own executioner lying dead at her feet, an arrow through his chest.Her eyelids felt heavy, the world beginning to tip in front of her very eyes. Clinging to the tree on which she leant, Ami reached down to her side and pressed her hand against the bandage which encircled her torso. The damp, sticky sensation of blood warned her of what she already new. A determination seized her, as she forced herself to remain upright. She would not allow herself to seem weak, she had to be strong for herself, for the memory of her family. But as hard as she fought against it, darkness began to encroach around her vision as she slowly lid down the tree. ((Hope this is alright for my first post! She's not going to be a weakling don't worry just thought this might be an good way for Niyo and herself to become acquainted.)) |
| ((OOC:/ ah, yeah, I am usually pretty bad about that, gomen. The princess and her people went around saving the remaining villages to form a resistance. The villages are just ones from her kingdom. Thanks ^__^)) _________________ My D.A.I am just one of the many victims in this sick joke called life. Since there is nothing better to do, come play awhile. Maybe we'll make new friends. | "Block the gates!" a loud male voice called and soldiers poured through the city streets that were oddly empty for such an hour of the day, or at least Miyo thought so, as she looked out from her window. Her shoulder length, silvery white hair fell over her shoulder at outside of the open, second story view. In the back of her mind she could still hear her brother boasting about his success on the battle field and in love, followed by her retort that he had barely survived either and wouldn't his next, then a sharp reprimand from her father, saying that with war at hand she should be wishing her fresh and blood luck.
How had she replied to that? For a moment she couldn't remember and then it came back. In a falsely polite voice, she said that as the prince her brother didn't need luck for one and that the other was controlled by someone else. The uproar of laughter from her statement still rang in her ears and Miyo grinned at the memory, though she could hear, fresher, newer, realer, the ring of metal striking metal as the war took place less than four miles away.
The enemy were at their gates, had been only ten miles away from the walls the night before, and the little princess who thought she would forever be trapped at home, was now at the forefront of the war. Abruptly, it struck her: why was she here, all the way back at the palace, when she could go along the wall and see the fight first hand!? Everyone was busy, scurrying to hide the valuables in case the gates fell, like gold meant more than their lives, so Miyo knew that she wouldn't be stopped from going out.
Donning a plain, white and blue cloak that would be almost invisible against the backdrop of the ice and snow kingdom, Miyo slipped from her room and down into one of the servant corridors, moving through shadows just in case. Up through one of the towers, she was able to make it onto the top of the wall by jumping, a trick her elder brother had shown her. Her katana smacked against her leg, a reminder of another thing her brother had taught her: how to fight.
Running along the wall took only a few minutes to reach the front gates and what she saw shocked her: The wall had fallen. Her brother was fighting like there was no tomorrow, but still, men were falling and fast. With a shout, she launched into the fray, hacking her way towards her brother. Her sword was a flash of silvery steel, as she wriggled and fought her way through, moving fast and dodging and dancing, quick on her feet. Before she got there, she knew what was going to happen. Her brother fell, she cut the man down. There was no emotion in her, just a stunned numbness as Xanthe, her brother's sword, was pressed into her hands and he demanded she burn him, so she could lead as him. Her father, fallen not far away, was already gone to the nether world and so, she would later learn, was her mother. With bitter tears in her heart, but her mind and face still blank, she lit him on fire and watched it consume him, fighting the urge to just lay down and jo"Niyo, we're here. Shall I tell them to make camp?" Duku, her second in command asked. Niyo...her brother's name at birth, she had assumed his identity and began leading the remainder of her peoples. Miyo had gone village, taking her time so she could grow from a child, new to killing, to the young woman she was. During that time, she had carefully hidden all signs that she was female, binding her chest and washing her own clothes. It was hard work, for one who had once been so young, but now, she was a warrior, hardened through and through. She had truly become Niyo, in her own mind. Looking at Duku, she nodded, her expression dark and answered, "Tell them to set up camp in that groove of trees. Send men to scout ahead. No fires until the scouts are back, though I doubt the enemy is near. Mother Moon is full tonight. They know better than to attack us now." Duku, a tall man with jet black hair and sparkling green eyes, nodded and rode off. Miyo leaned over the side of her horse and stroked her neck, murmuring to the mare softly, as she slid off. Only those high in rank or weak in body rode and as the Prince, Miyo led the way. Once on the ground she instantly began helping to set up camp, the bindings on her chest no longer effecting her as much as they had at first. If they got camp up fast enough, she'd be able to sneak off and unwind the bindings from her chest so she could breath, maybe even find a brook to bathe in. Closing her eyes for an instant, that's all she wanted.  ((OOC:/ okay, your character is one of the various females that was rescued from the villages. I don't really care if she is human or not. The basic idea is she falls for the Prince(ss) and is more than willing to show it, but the Prince(ss) tries to deter her, ends up falling for her back, and so it happens from there...or maybe she follows the Prince(ss) and finds out her secrete and uses it against her. IDK)) _________________ My D.A.I am just one of the many victims in this sick joke called life. Since there is nothing better to do, come play awhile. Maybe we'll make new friends.
