| I Fall To Pieces Every Time Nick perked a brow at the comment before his lips tugged into a smile. He took Shadow by the arm and led him to the bench he was sitting on before all of this monster crap. "I'm a weird human..." He repeated to himself before shrugging. "Huh... never been called that before." The blonde male, currently posing as a brunette, snapped out of his thoughts upon the request for seeds. Nicolacen smirked as he pulled the bag out from his coat pocket and placed some birdseen into Shadow's hand. He tensed when a bird landed on his hand to feed from Shadow's hand. That certainly hadn't happened before, excluding a blue jay that continues to linger about the porn star's appartment balcony in the mornings.
Birds are incredibly skittish creatures. They do not trust easily and as far as Nick was concerned they were incredibly stupid. Stupid enough to be immune to mythological hypnotic powers Nick thought to himself. The blonde male was not included in the decent sized population who believed in fairy tale monsters such as vampires, werewolves, zombies, mutants, or warped creatures from the pits of hell coming to destroy this world. Nick didn't believe in magic or sorcerry or special powers or any of that. He had grown up living among humans and immitators on holloween. Nick was a very accepting individual however, so if someone claimed to be a vampire he usually went along with it due to his kind nature though he would point out certain things to disprove their claim in a polite sort of way.
Shadow's golden cat-like hues had to be contacts or something of the like. yet they had a certain glow about them that seemed... realistic? A man with cat-like eyes feeding birds... if the birds trust their own preditor then how can he be a monster? If anything he fails as a...kitty thing. Nick thought to himself with a soft chuckle as the robins landed on him and the birds continued to flock around them. He wasn't even aware of the tiny sparrow sitting on his thumb and pecking at the seed that was still in the bag since he was enjoying the show that Shadow was giving without even trying.
The worries and woes of the surrounding people made him grow weary and somewhat agitated. The birds seemed to notice for immediately they all stayed on Shadow's opposite side from Nick. A few of the less brave birds flew away not wanting to risk staying near this area. "Hey kid get away from the freak before he uses his dark magic to send the birds after you!" The man called while running in to "save" Nick. Nick didn't seem to fond of that idea for the moment the man came close he stood up and punched the male in the face sending him to his back on the floor. Nick's own dark glasses fell revealing those rather deadly blue hues of his. He glared down to the man with a look that said 'get lost', which made every single last bird fly away in a hurried frenzy to get away from Nick. "What do you say we get out of here hmm?" Nick asked with a warm smile to Shadow. His eyes were still pretty frightening, even when they fell upon Shadow's figure. There was just some spark in them that seemed cruel and unforgiving yet kind and somewhat loving, in a none-romantic sort of way. Nicolacen picked up his shades and pushed them back to his face before motioning for Shadow to fallow him. _________________ [The Sucidal Sock Puppet Master] |

| Planet Naris
"I want to name him." She said craddling the baby in her arms. "You know you won't be able to dearest. Even now their coming to collect him." A man next to her said. A sigh heaved from the woman who held him. "I know, but I wish him to my one. I wish no others after him." She said stroking the dark strands away from his face. "I would name him Shade." She said. It was that moment that the door opened. The child only a hour old was taken from his mother taken away to live.
Naris speical devolpment plant. "Place him here." The infant was placed in a white room on a bed. No one would touch the child for the next five years. Some died from lack of care, some survied. Those who did would show some signs of power. It was those that were sent to various reaches of the planet. It was there they spend the next five years watching Shade grow. Food was presented to him but it was only enough to keep him alive. Despite that he grew healthy and strong as if consuming something else they weren't providing for him. Two onlookers watched as the child seemed to walk around the room feeling the walls as if looking for omething. "He's taught himself much but what is it he searches for each day?" One asked the other. "We are uncertain. We thought perhaps someone was sneaking him extra food but it is not so. He feels the walls each day then sleeps. Ocassionally he speaks but his speech is broken."
"We have a break! Unknown personal has entered the facity."
A few moments eariler. "Saris you can't. You know the penaty. You know the way of our world." He tried to persaude his choosen to stay. "He will be set free as soon as he shows signs of his power."
The woman pulled away. "He is my son, I am dying. What will I lose by seeing him before I die?" She said determind to steal her son back to her. Heaving a sigh he nodded. "I shall get you inside. But how will you find him? There are hundreds of childern." The man asked. She smiled. "I will know him. After all he has the mark."
"I would have wished you lived many more years but I will help you in your dying wish."
"The intruder is idenfied as a white lighter." The voice over the intercom reported.
A white light phased into the room containing Shade then phased away, outside of this plant. "Kill her and recover the child." A voice called.
Shade curled his arms around the woman. "Who? Who?" He sounded a bit like a owl. The woman smiled pressing him against her body. "I'm your mother. I'm going to take you to a new home somewhere we can be together." She didn't make it much farther before falling forward and landing on Shade. Shade shifted. "Hey?" He shook her but her eyes were already going hazy. "Don't go back with them. Go to the new home, the one we'll be in together." She said.
"If he runs kill him."
At that moment a giant beam of light surrounded him transporting him to a new world.
Planet earth. Shade seemed to appear as if from the shadows themself frighting many people. He was taken into custody of people he didn't know people whom seemed frighten of him. The room he was placed in was small with a single bed and very dim lighting. It was there he spend the next ten years of his life living the way he had in the last world. Letting them examine him, discovering the things he could do. Training, always training in so many ways. Serving these people, helping their speices to survie. Saving childern, killing murderers. Doing other jobs that they requested of him.
"You've done well Shadow. Your being given a week to do as you wish. Then you will return here for another job." Said the officer that Shadow often worked with. "Thank you sir." The officer smiled. "Why don't you go get something to eat or something?"
Shadow didn't return the smile. "I require nothing." He said unsure what to do with this time he was being given. Leaving the base he walked along the streets watching the many humans who were walking, talking, doing other manners of things. They seemed happy to him yet when he passed them they all seemed to hush up and look at him in a nervous manner. It was the first time Shadow had walked the streets alone and not in search of a furgitive. Not sure where he was going he turned towards a area that seemed lush with trees. The sign red.
"Carrington Park."
Entering the park shadow ignored the stares from the on lookers who thought him some sort of freak. He would not distrub the peace. "This place is..." He was suddendly cut off by someone shouting. Looking around for the source of the shouting he fell silent.
