I Fall To Pieces Every Time

Cover my eyes... Cover my ears... Tell me these words are a lie. Nicolacen took the silence as a time to dwell upon the letter to his mother and to a song his mother use to sing to him to scare the monsters away from his dreams. His throat began to swell and he felt his eyes grow tired. It was one of those embaressing moments where you nearly fall appart. One of those moments where you can't wait for the day to be over so you can cry your eyes out in your pillow until you slip slowly into madness substituted by sleep. The only thing that pulled Nick out of his thoughts was Shadow's voice. He looked to the other and for a moment felt saved from tears that were never meant to be shed or veiwed by anyone. He smiled kindly upon the male who didn't bother to break the silence before hand. "Nicolacen. Nick for short." Nick said pleasently while taking Shadow's hand in his own. "Lets go to a museum... After, I'll take you to a nice dinner, how's seafood sound?" Nick questioned pleasently while leading Shadow along, keeping hold of his arm like they were a couple.a

(Parenthesis!: Sorry it's so short, I don't have much time left and I just want to get something up)

Strange events were one of the things that made up any and all worlds. Yet it was strange things that caused a series of events to occure, that drew everything to happend in a way that could not always be predicted. Having left the law enforcement place this morning he would not have guessed that a human would talk to him in a friendly manner much less ask him to leave the crowded safety of the park to go elsewhere. Strange things there were always happending that made no the slightest bit of sense nore could it hope to be understood as Nick gazed towards Shadow in that way. The birds long gone he rose from the place he had sat only for a mere moment of a second before the stirring of events had started. A chain that could continue.

There was some greater force here that Shadow himself couldn't even comprehend as he broke Nick's gaze and looked away towards the fountain to watch the flowing of the water droplets for a moment. It seemed for a time thatno answer would come from him but as the shados shifted in the swaying of the trees so did his figure. There seemed something indeed strange about him which was the cause of everyones weariness. Granting his attention back to Nick he answered with no hint of a smile nor any other expression of any sort. Moving after Nick he walked behind the male rather then moving to walk along side of him as was his habit to do. Walking along side anyone would have ment that he was equal with something and equal wasn't something Shadow was. He stood apart from this place in ways that those there didn't comprehend, something deeper then just his ghostly appearence. Even were not there words that were spoken the voices of the shadows were clear to him, those voices that spoke silently.

It was times like this that one of two things could happend to cause the shifting of events. To let the silence have its way, to listen to what couldn't be heard when words spoke. Or to break the silence and let the voices have their way as was natural. Humans were a creature that often at times like this chose to speak rather then not so as Shadow waited the words had already reached him before he had a moment to think on them. "Shadow." was all that came from him. "Wherever you wish to lead." Were his responses before the silence came to fall apond him again. It was a thing he knew well.

I Fall To Pieces Every Time

Nick perked a brow at the comment before his lips tugged into a smile. He took Shadow by the arm and led him to the bench he was sitting on before all of this monster crap. "I'm a weird human..." He repeated to himself before shrugging. "Huh... never been called that before." The blonde male, currently posing as a brunette, snapped out of his thoughts upon the request for seeds. Nicolacen smirked as he pulled the bag out from his coat pocket and placed some birdseen into Shadow's hand. He tensed when a bird landed on his hand to feed from Shadow's hand. That certainly hadn't happened before, excluding a blue jay that continues to linger about the porn star's appartment balcony in the mornings.

Birds are incredibly skittish creatures. They do not trust easily and as far as Nick was concerned they were incredibly stupid. Stupid enough to be immune to mythological hypnotic powers Nick thought to himself. The blonde male was not included in the decent sized population who believed in fairy tale monsters such as vampires, werewolves, zombies, mutants, or warped creatures from the pits of hell coming to destroy this world. Nick didn't believe in magic or sorcerry or special powers or any of that. He had grown up living among humans and immitators on holloween. Nick was a very accepting individual however, so if someone claimed to be a vampire he usually went along with it due to his kind nature though he would point out certain things to disprove their claim in a polite sort of way.

Shadow's golden cat-like hues had to be contacts or something of the like. yet they had a certain glow about them that seemed... realistic? A man with cat-like eyes feeding birds... if the birds trust their own preditor then how can he be a monster? If anything he fails as a...kitty thing. Nick thought to himself with a soft chuckle as the robins landed on him and the birds continued to flock around them. He wasn't even aware of the tiny sparrow sitting on his thumb and pecking at the seed that was still in the bag since he was enjoying the show that Shadow was giving without even trying.

The worries and woes of the surrounding people made him grow weary and somewhat agitated. The birds seemed to notice for immediately they all stayed on Shadow's opposite side from Nick. A few of the less brave birds flew away not wanting to risk staying near this area. "Hey kid get away from the freak before he uses his dark magic to send the birds after you!" The man called while running in to "save" Nick. Nick didn't seem to fond of that idea for the moment the man came close he stood up and punched the male in the face sending him to his back on the floor. Nick's own dark glasses fell revealing those rather deadly blue hues of his. He glared down to the man with a look that said 'get lost', which made every single last bird fly away in a hurried frenzy to get away from Nick. "What do you say we get out of here hmm?" Nick asked with a warm smile to Shadow. His eyes were still pretty frightening, even when they fell upon Shadow's figure. There was just some spark in them that seemed cruel and unforgiving yet kind and somewhat loving, in a none-romantic sort of way. Nicolacen picked up his shades and pushed them back to his face before motioning for Shadow to fallow him.

A frown curled to his lips as the woman shouted about a monster. He supposed he looked a bit like one with deathly pale skinned that suggustioned he didn't take in much sunlight. The cat yello eyes drew attention to him as well as his bushy hair that was a cross between a bear or perhaps a shaggy dog. Though if those choose to look about his tough rugged exteior one might even call him handsome. Slimly build his clothes hung losely around his frame and showed smooth pale skin yet there were hints of scars beneath his open shirt. What more surprised him then the woman screaming about the vampire like monster or whatever monster she deemed he was, was the male whom talked to him as if he were normal.

Looking at him he blinked his catlike eyes a few times not showing his confusion nor surprise that Nick choose to talk to him. "You are a very strange human." He said as he thought of accepting the invitation. Perhaps showing these people that he wasn't going to snap Nick's neck and cripple him. Holding out his hand it seemed as if he was waiting for something from nick. "Seed?" He said asking in a polite if somewhat simple manner for Nick to place the birdseed in his hand. The birds seemed as if they were taking note of the exchange between the two males whom were surely oppsites or perhaps it was the seed they were waiting for either way they seemed to be gathered about the two. Taking a still quiet stance he seemed to hardly move at all as seed fell from Nick's fingers into Shadow's open palm. As soon as Nick had finished two small robins came to rest on Shadow's arm and began pecking the seed from him. Shadow hardly moved so not to startle the birds as they ate.

Unfortunally this act was creating more of a ruckus. The crowd seemed to think he had some unnatural ability to commuicate with the animals. Some sort of devil spell that Shadow had cast to hypnotise the birds. They were so quick to believe the worse of Shadow even though he did nothing but stand there allowing the birds to eat from his palm.

(Oooo! Its amazing Socky! I love it! Nick's so smexy. I hope mine's ok. ^^)

I Fall To Pieces Every Time

Cover my eyes. I don't want to see her cry anymore. Cover my ears. I don't want to hear she's dying. Tell me these words are a lie... Tell she she's going to be alright. It can't be true, that I'm losing you! You're supposed to be here with me until we're both old and worn. The sun cannot fall from the sky! My world can't make sense when your gone. Can you hear heaven cry? They're trying to take you away from me. The tears of an angel... How enticing and sweet...

Stop every clock. Maybe then we'll have more time. The stars are in shock. They don't want you to leave me... The river won't run to the sea. The world will end. I won't let you fly! I need you here with me! I won't say goodbye, you're not going anywhere! I won't let you slip away from me! You're my only hope... Can you hear heaven cry? They want you to flee from my arms. Mommy... please don't die... Mommy don't let go of my hand! Mommy I love you can't you see? Mommy please stay alive! Please stay here with me...

"...I never got to give this letter to you mom..." 27 year old Nicolacen Taylor said to the tomb stone. "I know it's a little late considering you died ages ago..." Nick knelt down to the grave and tucked the clean envalope into a small crevis before the stone. "I'm sorry... You know I was so angry at you when you left me." He smiled smoothly to the grave before glancing to a few free birds in the sky. "I thought I threw it away...turns out I just hid it in that painting I bought for you... You know dad just now gave it to me..." He smirked. "...I hate that painting so much...because every time I look at it, I see your face... and I'm not a man who has much time for sentemental moments anymore..." He glared sharply to the woman's grave.

"...I know I havent viseted you... and I don't plan on visiting again anytime soon..." Nick stood and pushed his dark glasses to his face. He wore a dark brown wig over his fine blonde tresses and a scarf around his neck to further conceal his identity. His jacket wasn't the best though it fit him well and it was good enough for secretly venturing out into the public.

Nick despised people realizing who he was. He had religous people scolding him nearly every day and an endless sea of women wanting to have some form of sex with him. People loved and hated late night porn stars. Some of those who loved him pretended to despise him in public out of embaressment though that sort of thing just came with the territory of the job.

Nick walked towards the park since he still had this day off. He wanted to feed the birds and perhaps viset the beach and admire the sunset. Twas a shame that there was no one to admire such things with. Nick sat upon a park bench while thinking about his mother. Slowly he closed his eyes before tracing his hadns to his ears. He hadn't noticed the unusual individual walking by until...

"MONSTERRR!!!" Screamed a woman in her sundress. "Monster?" Nick thought outloud and lept from his seat looking around since he certainly didn't wish to be harmed by some kind of "monster". He couldn't help but let his imagination run wild with what sort of monster this crazy woman was talking about. Maybe a bear escaped from the zoo a few blocks away and it was on some form of a rampage! Of course when he realized what, or rather who the woman was pointing at he just sort of stared before laughing. "That's no monster." He said before approaching the dark haired fellow bravely.

"Don't go near him he might harm you!" Someone shouted.

"Oh shut up." Nick laughed his excruciatingly charming laugh. "Hello, seems like you're startling some people... why not come feed the birds with me? It's low mantenance." Nick said brightly to the unusual looking male before him.

Planet Naris

"I want to name him." She said craddling the baby in her arms. "You know you won't be able to dearest. Even now their coming to collect him." A man next to her said. A sigh heaved from the woman who held him. "I know, but I wish him to my one. I wish no others after him." She said stroking the dark strands away from his face. "I would name him Shade." She said. It was that moment that the door opened. The child only a hour old was taken from his mother taken away to live.

Naris speical devolpment plant.
"Place him here." The infant was placed in a white room on a bed. No one would touch the child for the next five years. Some died from lack of care, some survied. Those who did would show some signs of power. It was those that were sent to various reaches of the planet. It was there they spend the next five years watching Shade grow. Food was presented to him but it was only enough to keep him alive. Despite that he grew healthy and strong as if consuming something else they weren't providing for him. Two onlookers watched as the child seemed to walk around the room feeling the walls as if looking for omething. "He's taught himself much but what is it he searches for each day?" One asked the other. "We are uncertain. We thought perhaps someone was sneaking him extra food but it is not so. He feels the walls each day then sleeps. Ocassionally he speaks but his speech is broken."

"We have a break! Unknown personal has entered the facity."

A few moments eariler. "Saris you can't. You know the penaty. You know the way of our world." He tried to persaude his choosen to stay. "He will be set free as soon as he shows signs of his power."

The woman pulled away. "He is my son, I am dying. What will I lose by seeing him before I die?" She said determind to steal her son back to her. Heaving a sigh he nodded. "I shall get you inside. But how will you find him? There are hundreds of childern." The man asked. She smiled. "I will know him. After all he has the mark."

"I would have wished you lived many more years but I will help you in your dying wish."

"The intruder is idenfied as a white lighter." The voice over the intercom reported.

A white light phased into the room containing Shade then phased away, outside of this plant. "Kill her and recover the child." A voice called.

Shade curled his arms around the woman. "Who? Who?" He sounded a bit like a owl. The woman smiled pressing him against her body. "I'm your mother. I'm going to take you to a new home somewhere we can be together." She didn't make it much farther before falling forward and landing on Shade. Shade shifted. "Hey?" He shook her but her eyes were already going hazy. "Don't go back with them. Go to the new home, the one we'll be in together." She said.

"If he runs kill him."

At that moment a giant beam of light surrounded him transporting him to a new world.

Planet earth.
Shade seemed to appear as if from the shadows themself frighting many people. He was taken into custody of people he didn't know people whom seemed frighten of him. The room he was placed in was small with a single bed and very dim lighting. It was there he spend the next ten years of his life living the way he had in the last world. Letting them examine him, discovering the things he could do. Training, always training in so many ways. Serving these people, helping their speices to survie. Saving childern, killing murderers. Doing other jobs that they requested of him.

"You've done well Shadow. Your being given a week to do as you wish. Then you will return here for another job." Said the officer that Shadow often worked with. "Thank you sir." The officer smiled. "Why don't you go get something to eat or something?"

Shadow didn't return the smile. "I require nothing." He said unsure what to do with this time he was being given. Leaving the base he walked along the streets watching the many humans who were walking, talking, doing other manners of things. They seemed happy to him yet when he passed them they all seemed to hush up and look at him in a nervous manner. It was the first time Shadow had walked the streets alone and not in search of a furgitive. Not sure where he was going he turned towards a area that seemed lush with trees. The sign red.

"Carrington Park."

Entering the park shadow ignored the stares from the on lookers who thought him some sort of freak. He would not distrub the peace. "This place is..." He was suddendly cut off by someone shouting. Looking around for the source of the shouting he fell silent.
