Kairn smiled lightly, "Oh, I almost forgot, I talked to Mr. Mariane and explained the situation. He did seem upset, but your job should be okay if that's what you're worrying about." He stood from the couch (which they magically appeared on somewhere during that discussion XD), as if preparing to leave. "Well, I should probably get going. I can tell you're tired, and I don't want to cause you any further trouble."
Luckily, being observant about other people was one of the things Kairn was good at. He was generally quite good at dealing with the feelings of others, which, once again, set him apart from Lucien/Levi. Still, he had to work on conveying his own feelings properly in certain situations.
He proceeded to the front door of Andrew's home, "I'll call Mr. Mariane about the delivery on Monday, so bye until then!" With that, 'Lucien' left Andrew's house and hurried off down the street, hastily erasing the smile from his face when he noticed an old woman staring at him strangely.

~---~

"Levi! I'm home!" Kairn called out as he entered the apartment, shutting the door behind him and being careful to lock it. When no reply came, he called out again. "Levi? Are you ignoring me? Where are you?"
"He went out with Riley." The reply came from the kitchen; Alexis was still in the hotel room. She strode out into the hallway where Kairn was standing, a frown now upon his face. "Sorry babe, but he also left orders for you to be under house arrest. I'm your babysitter, so, if I were you, I would just sit tight for the next several hours and make my job easy."

"I see." He said even though he really didn't. There was definally something strange going on that was beyond Andrew's comprehension and he didn't want to take the brainpower to try to figure it out. He was tired and hungry as he hadn't eatten since about 11am yesterday which was well before he delivered the parts to Levi. And he hadn't eatten when he arrived home since he was upset over the little fight between he and Levi... even though he should have just shrugged it off and forgotten about it. The boy was close to his age.

"Mr. Mariane's store opens at 11:00. If he has the items in then they'll be delivered this afternoon... that is if Mr. Mariane trusts me enough to let me go out again after I missed all my orders yesterday..." He said frowning. He really liked working for Mr. Mariane. "If Mr. Mariane has to order it then I... it won't be delivered until next friday..." He said looking upset at the possiblity of losing his job.

Andrew at that point was looking very tired and not at al up for company any longer. Lucien having a younger brother should be able to tell that much from Andrew's posture resting across the couch. As much as he wanted to see Levi he was a bit too tired at that moment.

The people who did know Levi and Kairn, which was actually barely any, did usually find them extremely strange. Levi was mature, yet was younger, while Kairn was immature, yet was older. There were plausible explanations for it, however. Levi, thanks to Lilith's curse, grew up knowing the darker side of things and developed a more cruel, cold personality, while Kairn ended up leading a more sheltered life, with Levi/Lucien protecting him from experiencing the more unpleasant side of life. That, and they were polar opposites from birth, Kairn being the good one, while Lucien was...well, evil. Regardless, Kairn grew up to be a childish, innocent figurehead who only did what he was told, while Lucien/Levi grew up, sort of, to be a merciless, coldblooded criminal ringleader who really didn't seem to care who got hurt in the process of getting what he wanted. So, yeah; they were pretty messed up.
"Eh?" He froze when Andrew accused him of not being Lucien. They may have been brothers, but Levi would be absolutely furious if Andrew found out about it thanks to Kairn. At the very least, Levi would probably try to shoot him, he might regret it later, but he would hurt Kairn if he got angry enough. Not to mention the fact that he would force Kairn to spend a month or so at the family estate while he 'patched things up'. It had only happened once before, but Levi's reaction had frightened him greatly. He had pulled a gun on Kairn when he had tried to refuse leaving, and given him the same icy, cold, merciless stare he would've given someone he intended to kill. He had been scared, so he left. When he got back three months later, the apartment had been trashed, people had feared him more than ever, and the person who had accidentely discovered their secret had gone missing. Permanently. For those three months, it appeared as though the city had been ruled by an iron fist, who was none too happy. The police, under orders from Levi, were not even searching for the missing person. Kairn didn't want that to happen to Andrew.
A frown met the teen's lips. "What are you talking about? Of course I'm Lucien. Do you honestly think Levi would let me act this way out in public? It's thanks to him I have the reputation that I do." Miraculously, it sounded sincere. Kairn hated lying, so it usually sounded fake, but if he wanted to lie desperately enough, he could get away with a half-lie. "In a way, I suppose Levi is my hidden, cruel side, and that's exactly why I'm worried about him."
"Oh, I didn't consider that..." The smile returned to his face as Andrew began suggesting ideas. "Ordering something from Mr. Mariane is a good idea; is there a specific time I should call him at?"
Luckily, since he did live with Levi and all, he was generally used to worse insults. In fact, most of the time he didn't even notice he was being insulted until someone pointed out if it wasn't terribly obvious. "I apologize for not being very prepared by the way; I'm afraid I'm really not useful for much other than acting." Unfortunately, it was more or less true. He was pretty good at doing things like cooking though, and he was considerably more sensitive towards the feelings of others than Levi.

~-OOC-~
Now I really can't wait for when Levi turns back into Lucien; Andrew will probably thing Kairn has a split personality or something XD

Andrew blinked staring at Lucien in amazment a few moments. Luicen appeared as messed up at Levi was. Sighing after a moment he flopped down. "Why the hell does everyone think I'm too much of a kid to tell me anything?" He muttered. "Your not Lucien. You act too much like me to be him unless you go some hidden cruel side in you." People did talk about Lucien. "I get it ok? There's some reason you have to pretend to be him. I'm not going to go and tell anyone." He said. Andrew would like to be taken seriously in his own home. Not have this softhearted friendly Lucien trying to play match friends with him and Levi. It was that same thing that had annoyed Levi... "Sorry.." He muttered. "Shopping sounds great but um just inviting me shopping? Will that work? Shouldn't I just like bump into you at the store or something? And then maybe you can be all. "There's your cute little frend Levi!" And then get lost while Levi's all annoyed with me?" It sounded a bit more complicated when Andrew plotted it out and he wasn't sure.

He was as bad as talking with Lucien Sterling as he was talking with Levi. At least he didn't go for the direct insult of like. If your lucien I'm the pope son or something. "Or you can just order something from Mr. Mariane's. Just speically request that I deliver it or something. That way I have to come there. And make sure Levi accepts it or something." He was doubting these ideas would work but he did want to see Levi again even if it was just to apogizge to him for how he had gotten before.

Unfortunately, Kairn using his name would be another reason for Levi to be angry. When Kairn acted all nice and such as 'Lucien', it tended to make people fear the name 'Lucien Sterling' less and less, thus irritating Levi whenever he was temporarily Lucien. Kairn just couldn't act like Levi/Lucien unless forced though, it wasn't in his nature to be mean.
"I don't think he hates you, he probably just wasn't in a good mood and accidently took it out on you." 'Lucien's' eyes widened when at Andrew's quiet reply, and a smile broke out across his face. Without thinking, he impulsively hugged the blonde. "Thank you! I promise you won't regret th-" He paused when he realized he had hugged Andrew, and hastily released him.
"Um...sorry about that, I...kind of got carried away. Sorry." Yep, 'Lucien' truely was the exact opposite of Levi.
"What now...? Um...well...we...uh..." He smiled sheepishly. "I...didn't really think this fully through. I kind of thought you'd reject the idea at first, so...I actually have no idea how to make this work."
'Lucien' paused for a moment to think before continuing. "People usually make friends at school, but that wouldn't work because today is a Saturday and Levi doesn't go to your school...aha!" His eyes lit up with excitement. "I know! We could enroll Levi at your school-ah, but he's only thirteen so you wouldn't be in the same grade...and he would probably just get expelled..."
"Hmm....oh! You could meet in the street when a horrifying monster appears and join forces to defeat it! Although it might be difficult to find a monster..." By now, it was probably clear he was just taking ideas from television shows and anime shows. He could be about as sharp as a bowling ball sometimes. For a few minutes, he continued to throw out a few more ridiculous ideas, like Andrew falling down a well into the Fuedal Era where Levi tried to kill him but they became friends anyway.
"Or...you could go grocery shopping with me, Levi, and Alexis, and me and Alexis could conveniently become lost, at which point you and Levi would have to work together to find us." Surprisingly enough, it wasn't a half bad idea, especially compared to the other ones he had been suggesting. If Andrew wanted to use that idea, however, he would have to speak up before 'Lucien' began babbling about useless ideas again.

Lacey set down a tray of cookies and milk before rushing off to leave the two alone to talk beaming brightly as if she was really happy that Andrew had a friend even older one at that having not realized that Lucien was actually Levi's older brother who Andrew supposely spent the night with. Andrew's eyes went wide for a moment. Everyone knew that name naturally but Andrew just didn't follow the stories on Luicen asmost people did.

"I.. really want to get along with Levi.. I don't have any friends either. He.. doesn't hate me? I wasn't very nice to him.. I didn't even say thank you..." He was going to before he left this morning but everything had gone so wrong from the start. Andrew wasn't very forward at all when it came to fighting to keep friends or that sort of thing. In fact he was looking rather shy and nervous as he stood there half staring at Luicen and half thinking on it. "I'll try." He said softly. He wanted to have a friend as much as he hoped that Levi wanted to have one. It was all really confusing and all that. Taking a deep breathe he tried to calm down a little getting all worked up again over this whole ordeal between him and Levi. He barely knew Levi but he really wanted to hold onto him. "Um.. so what now?" He asked rather cluessly. He didn't just want to go back and be all. "Hi Levi! We're going to hang out today kay?" Something told him Levi wouldn't take to that too well.

"Ah, w-wait..." He was about to voice his objection to coming inside, however it didn't seem like she heard him. Once inside he just kind of stood around awkwardly, once again questioning his decision to come here. Of course, when Andrew came down the stairs, all of this was forgotten.
A smile met his lips. "No problem, it was the least I could do after the way my brother acted. Your name is Andrew, right? I'm K-ah, um...Lucien. My name is Lucien Sterling. It's a pleasure to meet you Andrew." After hearing 'Lucien' speak, Andrew would probably be utterly surprised. It was usually difficult for people to believe that he was related to Levi, jsut because he was pretty much his polar opposite. "Actually, I kind of came here for another reason as well."
He paused, hesitating before continuing. "First of all, I would like to apologize for Levi's behaviour. He really is a kind person, just in a...different way. I'm certain he feels bad about what happened...probably." 'Lucien' smiled nervously, "Anyway, I really don't mean to pester you, but I would like to ask an extremely important favour of you. Before you say no, please just hear me out first." The teen paused before continuing, allowing Andrew a bit of time to nod or agree to hear him out.
"Alright, well, I'm really worried about my brother because he doesn't have any friends around his own age and, I'm sure you've noticed this already, he's definitely too mature for his age. A lot of people don't like him because of that, and I can't help but worrying that he's lonely or something. So...how do I put this without it sounding weird...?" He paused for a moment to think. "Okay, well, I know you just met him and all, and your first impression really wasn't that good, but I think you would maybe make a good friend for him, just because he did seem to kinda sorta like you...maybe. So, as long as you don't mind Andrew, would you please consider trying to be friends with Levi? I swear nothing will go wrong, but, if you still don't want to do it, I would understand. He can be a little mean, and stubborn, and snobbish, and ill-tempered sometimes...b-but I just know having a friend, at least just one, would improve his mood and make him more friendly!"

~-OOC-~
Kairn doesn't actually know about the whole Lilith thing by the way, he just thinks Lucien has some type of growth disorder, and he's too much of a sweetheart to question it or anything. He just goes with the flow most of the time and stumbles along blindly XD

A women with long light brown hair down past her waist opened the door. "Hello?" She said taking a moment to look over the young man before she spotted Andrew's backpack. "Oh did Andrew forget that? You must be Andrew's friend?" She asked thinking that he looked a bit old to be hanging around with Andrew but she was happy that Andrew had any friend at all in truth. "Come in now. I'll get Andrew" She said puling him along inside looking as if she wasn't going to give him a chance to slip away. "Andrew dear!" She called before knocking on the door to his room. "Your friend came by to drop off your backpack." She said.

Andrew paused staring at the door. Levi? Andrew shook his head. Levi couldn't have come here.. he hated Andrew.. Sitting up with the pillow still hugged against his chest he stared at the door for a moment before tossing the pillow back down on his bed and getting up. "I'll be right now." He said trying to look as if he wasn't upset over the little offset that he and Levi had. Coming down the stairs his eyes fell on Kairn blinking a few times. He resembled Levi in a way, like a older verison of Levi perhaps but as he expected it seemed as if Levi sent someone else cause he hated Andrew too much to come himself. At least he couldn't help to think that. Coming over he gave a soft mutter. "Thanks..." He said weakly noticing his mother was fussing about in the kitchen to make snacks for them. "Erm... um... thanks for letting me stay the night." He said politely even though that wasn't entrily what happend. His mother believed that he had made a friend that they were spending time together... And he couldn't bare tell her the truth yet... He would have pefered it to be Levi.. but since it wasn't he attempted to be nice to Kairn instead.

Everything had gone bad before it had even a chance to be good. He didn't fully understand why it was that Levi acted so mature or unlike a 13 year old boy but he wanted to. He wanted to find a way for them to get along.. But he wasn't even sure if that was possible.

PostSubject: Re: City Of Delusions (Private/Luna)   Sat Apr 11, 2009 2:50 pm

Levi had only just gotten out of the front door when Andrew ran right past him. At first, his thought process was pretty much along the lines of 'good riddance', however, after he caught a glimpse of the blonde's face as he fled, a teensy bit of guilt did spark up. He knew he had been overly harsh, and the blonde hadn't deserved his wrath, but...it was all for the better, right? Yes; it was better if Andrew thought he hated him, because it would prevent them from coming into contact again.
He hesitated, then returned to the hotel room. In his breif absence, Alexis and Riley had taken the liberty of explaining to situation fully to Kairn. Levi found the backpack in the living room, and brought it to the kitchen, handing it to Riley.
"Deliver this to Mariane's store." With that, he turned around, and found Kairn blocking his path.
"You're not going to drop it off yourself? But why? Aren't you going to apologi-"
"For what? I did nothing wrong. Now, move Kairn." His tone was sharp; he was in no mood to discuss this with his brother.
Kairn frowned, "Lucien! You can't just leave things like this! It's not right! That kid looked really hurt!"
"I could care less." He pushed past Kairn, proceeding towards the living room. "I don't have time to deal with children; I have important work to do."
"Fine then, be a heartless jerk!" Kairn clenched his hands, then snatched the back pack from Riley. "I'll just go find him and apologize for you, since you obviously don't have any manners!" With that, Kairn headed towards the front door, slamming it on his way out.

~---~

After retrieving Andrew's address from Mr. Mariane, thanks mainly due to the fact the man had thought he was Lucien, he walked all the way to the blonde's house. Unfortunately, Kairn hated driving, so he pretty much either had someone else drive him, or walked. Today, in order not to attract attention, which didn't really work since people stared at him anyway, he had decided to walk. That, and he usually walked when he was upset with his brother in order to calm down.
Unlike Lucien/Levi, Kairn was pretty much nice to everyone, became nervous easily, and panicked easily. He also became upset relatively easily when it involved Levi/Lucien not being kind to others.
Kairn hesitated at the door of the house, contemplating whether or not bringing the backpack all the way here was really the right thing to do. After a moment, he finally knocked on the door and waited for someone to come down and answer the door.

Confusion as well as pain was all too aparent in Andrew after Levi had saw him. He would have left last night... he wanted to leave last night.. Fighting the desire to just cry again he darted from the bedroom he didn't go towards the kitchen instead he went in the oppisite direction seeking the way out of this huge place. Bomb or not he couldn't stand being here a moment longer! Levi hated him and Andrew couldn't half blame him for it either, he hadn't been at all nice last night. He didn't even bother to search for his backpack as he headed out of the building.

Andrew's backpack could easily be traced back to Mr. Mariane's store but none of that mattered to Andrew. All he could think about was putting as much distance as possible between him and Levi. He ran several blocks before he collapsed desperately wanting to cry. All he wanted to do was apolgize, say he was sorry... try to find some possible way.. to.. to.. he didn't know. If there was one thing Andrew wanted more then anything else in the world it was to have a friend. But that would never happend now. Levi hated his very existence.

Pushing himself back up he started home once again both tired and hungry from the toll on his emotions. Reaching in his pocket paled a bit. He had to go back.. "I won't.." Mr. Mariane wasn't going to be happend. But Levi wouldn't be happy to see Andrew again either... When he finally made it home he went straight up to his room without a word to anyone and fell down on his bed hugging his pillow to his chest. He didn't... want Levi to hate him...

Currently, there was actually only four voices. One clearly belonged to Alexis, one clearly belonged to Riley, and one clearly belonged to Levi, however the fourth was a complete mystery. It did sound vaguely similar to Levi's though. At the moment, Alexis was arguing with Levi and the mystery voice, with Riley interjecting every now and then.
"...just phoned to tell him! I didn't expect him to show up..."
"For some reason, I doubt that."
"I-it's not Alex's fault! I came back because I was worried..."
"Be quiet."
"B-but..."
"I tried to stop her, but she just ignored me!"
"Quiet Riley."
"You're just in a bad mood because of that kid, and you know it. You know who he resembles, you just don't want to acknowledge it."
"Enough."
"Um...what kid?"
"Don't ask. Just go wait in the living room; we'll figure out what to do after I change."
There was the sound of footsteps coming towards the door of Levi's bedroom.
"Why is there a chair in front of the door? Is there something you would care to tell me Alexis? Or maybe Riley would like to explain?"
"No. Nothing at all. Right Riley?"
"R-right..."
Levi removed the chair from under the door handle and slowly opened the door. Upon seeing Andrew, he froze in place, then slowly closed the door again. There was the sound of footsteps once again.
"Levi? Where are you going?" The mystery voice questioned, the second set of footsteps likely belonging to him.
"Out."
"I'll come with-"
"No. Stay here. I'll be back in a while."
With that, the front door closed and Levi departed. If Andrew came out of the bedroom, he would find Alexis and Riley in the kitchen, and 'Lucien' (Kairn) standing near the front door.

Andrew's eyes went huge when he heard there was bomb somewhere outside this building showing that he obvisously believed the story. After so many things happending to him today he didn't doubt there could be a bomb and he wasn't going to simply risk it. Sighing he sat back down on the bed to call his mother. "Mum?" At the ranting voice of his worried mother he cringed a bit. "Its ok mum.. I'm" He paused. "I'm spending the night at a friend's house." He said quietly. "Just a friend from school." He said. That caused his mother to calm down in fact she sounded rather overjoyd cause he had no friends that she was aware of. But he did get critized for not calling eariler or coming by to pick up anything. "Yah... I'll be home in the morning." He said hopefully.

Lying sucked. But he couldn't just tell her oh he was shot at, hid in a closet with a kid, and now there was a bomb outside the hotel he was in. That would just cause her to call the cops and have them demanding Andrew home. Exhaustion soon caught up with him and he soon fell back to sleep on the bed. A few small beeps came from his nano phone which Levi hadn't apparently taken with him. "Be.. nice to have a friend besides a phone." He muttered. With that he let the darkness over take him.

It was the sound of voices that woke Andrew that morning. Rubbing his eyes sleepily he stirred a bit slowly as he tried to make sense of what was happending. Sitting up he yawned not at all fully awake enough to understand what was going on. He didn't have any idea if it was safe for him to go home or not. Walking over to the door he leaned against it trying to make out the voices. They didn't sound happy.
