Izzy was amued with the telling of the fortunes though h was drawing the cards this time it was Edward who was interupting them for him sincethe cards had no meaning to him. He listened as Edward spoke depicting each card, and how each one seemed to make so much sense to him. These cards were something else entirely beyond them with their pictures and their meaning yet he was utterly amazed by them. All ideas of sleeping were forgotten as drew the same cards each time as amazed by this the third time as he was the first. They were so magical that even though they had the same meaning as before they made him smile. The message wasn't happy but the moments that he was spending spending with Edward felt good to him even if Edward seemed less then so. But then again he wasn't sure what happy was for Edward. Perhaps this was happy? Twitching his tail nervously behind him he turned over the tarot cards to Edward as a new deck was drawn from Edwards sleeve. This deck a plain one.

He shuffled the cards and began again as he thought of questions he would ask. He was a curious cat after all and questions were something he had lots of. Thought most right now had to do with the curious Cheshire Cat he had been watching for sometime. "Is this what you always do?" He asked having taken note that Edward had lived alone before him. And his house was so different then other houses he had watched on earth. Barely anything at all, other humans seemed to surround themselves with a manner of things to amuse themselves yet Edward had none of such things. While he waited for Edward the whistling of the wind outside of the cabin caused his ears to flick since the sound was sensetie to his ears. His attention turned away from the cards to the window outside as he watched the first hints of snow falling to the earth. His expression was clear. He'de never seen snow before at least not from earth like this. Moving from the table he stared out the window with childlike woner in his eyes. "Wow..." He let out seeming amazed by the way the snow fell from the sky and how it seemed to land apond the ground outisde. It was amazing! Everything was so amazing to him! "Look!" He suddendly called to Edward waving his tail in a happy manner.

Edward nodded in response to the neko’s rant about card games. Yes, keep him talking Eddy thought. The more he talks the less tired he’ll be… He was inwardly pleased with the neko’s interest in his cards though he didn’t miss the odd stare just before he spoke. The neko was gazing at his eye… like all cats he was more then likely curious about how his eye came to be this way. At least he wasn’t afraid. Edward couldn’t count how many of his guests had been simply horrified when they first saw him. So many had been petrified for days on end just because of his eye, claiming they saw disturbing images if they gazed in it long enough. Their own death, the last moments of victims passed, and some atrocities unmentionable. It seemed as though the neko saw nothing horrible or frightening since he was so trusting and open. Perhaps it was because he was so exhausted? No, Izzy was genuinely unintimidated by his peculiar eye. Once again he was inwardly pleased by this.

Edward shuffled the cards before placing five on the table. “Fortune telling is usually a load of crap.” He explained. “But these cards are special… they’re not from this world… I was told they were from heaven. It was a toy God made for his son, but when it was time for his son to go down to earth and serve his purpose a mischievous cat made his way passed the pearly gates and stole this toy from the holy one… not like it was missed… the holy one never needed them in the first place.” King of Hearts, Seven of Spades, Jack of Clubs, Jack of Spades, and Nine of Diamonds…

Edward moved his hand to the king with a frown. The man had a sword and was stabbing himself in the head. His heart was clearly visible from his chest, his long hair stained and his face desperately sad. “Right side up Suicide King…” He tapped the card sadly. “You’ve been through great emotional trauma lately… someone you love dearly, you feel, has forsaken you… your life was slipping through your hands and your heart was wounded by something nearly unbearable.” His hand moved to the Seven of Spades. “But then… something good happened, or will happen….” Seven seeds in horrible soil in the middle of a dark and dreary rainstorm were on one half of the card. On the other side those seven seeds has sprouted into seven beautiful flowers and the sun was shining brightly above it all. “Something simply life changing for the better occurred, or will occur due to your incredible misfortune…” His hand slowly trailed to the Jack of Clubs. “Jack of Clubs upside down… yet another seemingly bad situation will turn into something great, fun, jolly… you’ll be very happy… Every Jack, except for the Jack of Diamonds are future only.” He briefly explained while gazing at the funny looking man skipping in the rain in a field of clubs. “The Jack of Spades, right side up, signifies some being you think is trustworthy that really isn’t… someone you haven’t met yet that you’re dying to meet… you’ll discover they’re not who you thought they were and you’ll regret…something…” He pointed to the devious looking angelic silly man who held a stuffed pink bunny with its head ripped off behind his back. The bunny had several nails in it yet the angelic looking man’s smile was a haunting, seemingly trustworthy smile. “And finally…” His hand came to the nine of diamonds and he just… froze. His eyes eyed the card curiously. To Izzy it might’ve looked like a picture of some sort but to Edward it just looked like your average nine of diamonds from any old deck. “Unfortunately a man I use to know made it so I could never read the Nine of Diamonds…” The Cheshire cat made him pick a card… and he did, the Nine of Diamonds. The Cheshire cat laughed and said something about how his future should be a surprise… and then, the picture was gone. He only had a quick glance before the card was made average to his eyes. He remembered there was more then one person on the card, but other then that he didn’t know. “Would you like to hear something funny?” Edward asked, not seeming all too amused by whatever he was about to say. “No matter how many times you shuffle the cards you will draw the exact same ones until your fortunes have come true…If you draw more then whatever you have, the cards will just look exactly like the first five over and over….” He sighed before setting the deck down. “Try it if you wish, perhaps look at all of them and ask whatever questions you may have…” He offered before pulling out a deck of normal cards from his opposite sleeve.

The answer wasn't a surprise to Izzy since it looked as if it was just him from the bareness of the place thought he wasn't sure if perhaps Edward had a pet cat or something thought he hadn't seen one yet, thought it could be out hunting? His mind was curious in so many ways that he couldn't help thinking that Edward should have someone for company. Other then a stray cat angel that shouldn't have fallend to earth to begin with.

As he consumed his meal he kept his interest on Edward and paticularly his strange eye which was quite curious. He had so mny questions abot it yet he didn't want to be rude by asking. Still they buzzed around in hs head until Edward spoke again of games. His expression brightend as he flicked his tail to and fro watching him before nodding his head. "I've never played games before with cards but I kno there are many hundreds of gams one can play with them." He said chattering in a happy manner. "Fortune telling?" How did that work? He was curious once again.

God perdicted things. Or so he'de been taught. Was Edward going to some how perdict the angels future? Or maybe read his past? He didn't look like a angel who could do such a thing but his curiousity finally won out. He wanted to see Edward tell his fortune. "Fortune telling.. I've heard such things about it. I've never had my fortune told." He said. He suddendly wasn't sleep any longer as he watched Edward produce a deck of cards from his sleeve. Tilting his head in interest he waited to see what Edward would do next. He was clearly fasinated by Edward, and he had no idea that Edward was hoping to keep the young neko awake all night long.

Edward sat quietly across the table from the neko barely paying attention to the youth at the moment. His mind was on other things such as 'will I be snowed in again?' and 'Should I expect some random creature on my doorstep during winter when I don't have the supplies to help?' Of course he always managed to find supplies if not here, then in wonderland. His eyes slowly trailed back to the neko after a few bites of his own roast. The question wasn't necessary for the one roomed home spoke for itself. One person had to live here, there wern't enough things for two. Trying to be polite however, Edward gave a very simple answer. "Yes." It wasn't like him to carry on a conversation by asking too many questions unless it looked asthough things needed to be said to relieve stress or sorrow.

Time passed and soon the food was gone. Edward filled up another glass of water, this time placing a bendi straw in the clear container before placing it infront of Izzy. He needed to stay hydrated if he hoped to survive this night. Once again edward's thoughts returned to this neko. Would he have to burry somebody who died in his home because his help was offered precious moments too late? It certainly looked that way. "I'm glad you found it to your liking." He said half heartedly while trying to think of a plan to keep the kitten awake. If the kitten didn't sleep perhaps his chances of survival would be far greater? Then again he fell asleep earlier and woke up... But when he woke up he was barely alive and hardly able to stand... The question suddenly brought him to a more stressful place. No, not the question itself... the guess.

"Cats..." Edward repeated while hiding the distane in his voice. Edward had encountered many nekos who were in need of his assistance however there was one cat that drove him absolutely mad. The cheshire cat. At the very thought of his name the echoes of uncontrollable laughter fluttered about the corners of Edward's mind. The peace and quite of his home was shattered by the dares of a game and the mockery of being a slave to the queen, a zombie, a drone who had no purpose other then to serve the blood sucking vampress that tainted the most perfect of worlds with her hideous and atrociously selfish heart. The Cheshire Cat... the only one who hadn't left him alone like the rest of wonderland. The only creature who dared disturb him, taunt him, tease him, and make an unbreakable wager with him to forever save his head by taking his head.

Edward suddenly realized that he still had company. He had been gazing off into space for almost three minutes without saying a work or aknowledging the neko's existance. "I beg your pardon..." he said slowly in that semi-deep and quiet voice after a moment and stood up, pushing his chair in. "Do you care much at all about fortune telling? Card games, tricks, things of the like?" He pulled a card out of his sleeve, hoping to distract the neko or at least capture his interest for the next few hours just to give him a better chance at surviving the night.

Izzy smiled at him with nod of his head before curling his fingers over the untenstils glad that he still had use of his fingers without there being any pain in them. Cutting up his food he smiled at Edward, "Its just you all by yourself?" He asked having taking notice that there were only the barest of necestites around here. Though it didn't bother Izzy much he knew there was some great unhappiness in Edward. Something that no one could get past to make him smile and it was a thing that Izzy couldn't stand. In his mind.. everyone had to smile! Vowing to himself he would eat all his food he began to take bites out of the roast that Edward had kindly prepared. When it was gone he let out a sigh feeling much better. "That was good." He said smilely brightly. He was sure Edward wouldn't smile but he could always hope that there would be something that would make Edward smile. He seemed to need a bit of happiness in his features. "What do you like Mister Edward? Cats?" He asked giving one of his ears a small flick. He would try hard! To make Edward smile! Before his body healed and Edward expected him to go...

The neko’s cries grimed Edward’s mood even more so then usual. He watched the kitten struggle to sit and start wheezing and whimpering for water in a raspy whisper. He retrieved the bottle of water when a depressing thought crossed him making him feel even grimmer than before. The neko would probably not survive the night. He had only one guest that arrived in his home with injuries worse, a vampire who barely survived and couldn’t walk for days. Eddy rubbed his wrists at the memories of the misfortunate man as water spilled all over the nearly naked neko dressed in bandages and his underwear. He watched the neko stumble to his feet and examined the frustration building within him. The neko’s legs seemed to give out on him right in front of Edward. The neko fell against his chest before slipping to the floor however Eddy managed to catch him by the arms and hold him a minute as he cried. He helped the neko the rest of the way over to the chair and retrieved a fleece blanket from the bed, wrapping it around this poor kitten. To say the least he was surprised when the kitten just randomly smiled at him and said his name, speaking politely as if nothing had happened after sobbing. Edward couldn’t believe his ears. He blinked once, keeping that cold emotionless look in his eyes. His hands moved to the neko’s ears before he tweaked them and rubbed his thumbs up and down the back of the kitten’s ears slowly. Once he confirmed the neko was actually real he blinked again. His blinks were quite creepy. While the blue eye closed the red one simply rolled back into the darkness before rolling back into the heart shaped pit that created his eye socket. “Edward Valentine.” He responded. “I suppose it might’ve been a pleasure under better circumstances.” He commented before carving some of the roast. He set up the neko’s plate before cutting the slice of meat into little bite sized cubes. “Try to eat it all, Izzy.” He spoke quietly yet there was some degree of concern in his voice. It just didn’t seem as caring as it could have been.

The tormented whimpers of the neko died away when the fake memory was embedded into his mind creating something that wasn't his at all. Yet it had the effect that Edward desired as the sleep of the boy became more restfull then before, calmer letting him actually gain rest throw his slumber. For when nightmares plagued one's mind there was never sleep to be had. The only time a unpleasent sound came from the neko was when he shifted his body and stirred pain within his limbs. Still even then he didn't wake until Edwards hand grazed his cheek one again and told him to wake with the promise of food.

Groaning he opened his eyes as he tried to shift his weakend body enough to sit which was a struggle all in itself since he was barely alive at that moment. Blinking sleepily at Edward he tried to speak though his voice was hoarse and ragged since he had screamed and begged for mercy that hadn't come. Coughing harshly his body jarred a few times as he tried to control the surges in his body. When the pain had momentarly subsided he took a few deep breathes. "Water." He choked out needing to rest his voice. Waiting for water he sat unmoving not wanting the pain to render his body useless again. When the glass was offered to him he took it barely able to drink as he spilled a good dear of water over his body, nearly as much as he was drinking. Sputtering as he coughed he let out a sigh. "Thank you." He said when he could speak again.

It was at that moment the the smell of meat wafted over to his nose. Taking it in he looked in the direction of food thought he was barely sure he could make it there. Testing his feet he only managed to steps before he had crumbled to the ground. His legs were exhausted from the chase, from running for nearly three days straight as he attempted to alude the hunters that were after him. It was then that sobs overtook him in his frail state. He was a angel! Yet he was as weak as any mortal in this land. Without his wings he oculdn't use any of his powers, he couldn't heal his body. He only cried for a fraction of a second before determination overcame his sorrow and he attempted to walk again. Groaning as he pulled himself along he didn't protest when Edward helped him move over to the table. Sitting down he sighed feeling as if he accomplished a task that was beyond his abilities he smiled. "Hi! I'm Izzy!" He said panting from the effort it took to cross the small distance from the bed o the table. How the neko had summoned up the cheerfullness that came from him just then would likely be forever a mystery to Edward.

Edward froze when the neko’s eyes opened. His eyes fixed themselves upon the other’s face before the neko’s mouth opened and his head once again fell onto the pillow quickly diving into a nightmare of being hunted by a beautiful yet angry woman. As Eddy proceeded to disinfect and stitch the larger gashes on the kitten’s body he could see the dream only progressing to where the woman’s henchmen, or something of the like, were skinning him alive and pulling on his tail yet no matter how much pain he was in it seemed the neko couldn’t die in this dream. The nightmare had a strong grip upon the young kitten and it didn’t seem ready to let him awaken. Edward rolled the kitten to his stomach so that he had access to the neko’s back. This only seemed to intensify the nightmare for now he was being forced to the floor and beaten more savagely without his skin. There was only so much of this nightmare Eddy could take. Before proceeding he traced his hands to the neko’s ears and gently tweaked them to see if it might sooth this vicious dream. He thought of a peaceful place he use to visit and thought of the days before he felt so numbed to the world. The days when his father was still alive and his mother wasn’t so cruel… Edward traced his hands down the neko’s ears and through is hair before his fingers stopped on his neo cortex area. He massaged the other’s temples before leaning down to his ears, whispering one simple command: “Peace.”

And with that command the dream suddenly changed. The neko was now sitting on a rock with an older man, both smiling and both fishing speaking of familiar things and making fun of some cruel woman. The older man playfully shoved the neko into the shallow water and soon the two were enjoying a splash fight before rain began to fall. The two swam into the waterfall and crawled into a hidden cave where a couch, a rug, some colorful tea pots, a book shelf, and lanterns awaited them. The two took their clothes off and wrapped themselves in towels still speaking of familiar things, a vacation from the place known as wonderland. Together the neko and this older man made a fire and roasted some unusual food known as butterfly bread and chocolate rocking-horse-flea with marshmallow trout. While dining on this wonderfully delicious food the two exchanged ghost stories about the jabberwocky and the ongoing fight between the Jubjub bird and the Bandersnatch. Even the Cheshire Cat was mentioned in the unusual stories they shared.

Now with a pleasant memory, one of the last memories of his father that Edward had, he was able to work without envisioning the nightmare within the neko’s mind. It wasn’t uncommon for his guests to have such horrible dreams and since Edward didn’t really mind losing all his so called precious memories he gave them away to his guests only to watch them play out and gain a new memory of giving away the memory so he could recycle them time and time again. The memory of a memory was simply a waste of time though so he didn’t often use them or review them. If anything he tried to ignore them as they left his mind and ventured into the mind of his guest and played out, replacing Edward with themselves.

Edward continued to tend to the neko’s injuries, stitching up the various weapons and wrapping them in a special cloth that would prevent too much itching. When his hands fell upon the wings tattooed into his back he felt odd throbbing lumps as if something was stirring beneath the flesh just waiting to be unleashed. They seemed irritated and painful so Eddy prepared the herbs he had collected and made a special paste before applying it to the odd lumps over the wings. He massaged the flesh soothingly and soon the throbbing ceased. Once he had finished tending to the neko Edward ventured out, stepping over a boar carcass left on his front door. He had to collect that fire wood before the sun set. When he returned he put the logs in the rather large stack within the log cabin. He brought two logs and some flint to a small black old fashion stove. Once that was ready he went back outside and carried the boar in before preparing it to be eaten by the two. About an hour later the boar was cooked and ready to be carved with some rosemary and acorns. Edward glanced back to the sleeping figure and walked over to him, feeling his forehead for a fever before tapping his cheek lightly with the back of his hand. “There’s food for you if you wake up.” He whispered in the neko’s ear. “Very tasty food… I’m sure you’re very hungry.” He said in a tempting tone.

There were countless wonders both seen and unseen that had forces that drew things far and near to them. Yet great wonders often posed great danger, or so it seened for Izac as he grazed down at below world from his cloud. He was suppose to be watching over cats yet his interest as strayed to something else. There was this paticular cat he'de been watching called the cheshire. He was a enigma to Izac, yet it seemed he was as much a puzzle to his own world as he was to Izac. It certainly occupied the neko angels attention on far to many occasions. It was then that Izac's curiousity had gained the better of him and he sought to reach the interesting cat so that he could ask his many questions that had been building up. "How did he remove his head and not die? Why was he purple? How did he disappear the way he did?" Those were just a few of many questions plaguing Izac.

Thought he knew he shouln't leave the safety of his cloud his curiousity was too much and he fell from his cloud to the world below. Yet he had fallen into a different world. One far from the cheshire cat. And this world was hardly a friendly one, for as soon as he touched the ground his wings were bound against his body so he couldn't fly away. And chains thrown arond him so that he couldn't flee. He was dragged to a place where others were bound in a fashion much like him, creatures of all manners being sold to all manners of people. Fear grew in him as he waited for a change to flee this place. The woman who came to take him was beautiful, yet he could see the cruelity in her soul. So when she tried to take him away he fought. And right he was for the woman was hunting him for sport.

His desperate efforts had taken him on a wild chase into a place he didn't know. He had been caught one and mauled only to be freed and told to keep running. For when he stopped he would die. It wasn't long before his body gave out on him and he collasped waiting to die. He wasn't sure if the woman had given up the chase leaving him for dead or if he had somehow gone where she couldn't follow. Either way he lost conciousness. He didn't expect to wake, even more he didn't expect to wake in a bed. In a log cabin. Being cared for by a man with a soul that confused him. Letting out a weak whimper he made effort to speak yet no sound passed his lips at that moment. Closing his eyes again he faded to blackness once more. Falling into the nightmare that led him to being found not far from this cabin.

Edward Valentine had been living in the human world for two years in a log cabin near the heart of the forest located somewhere on the outskirts of London England. He would still be called to Wonderland by his mother frequently however he hardly answered her screams anymore. Eddy didn’t hate his mother like so many in Wonderland, if anything he longed for her approval. So many years of trying to gain her appreciation, all wasted. It had left Edward drained of all energy and it had left him a sad faced youth who grew up with no heart, except for the heart that made up his right eye socket. Even when Edward had placed himself in danger for her sake she didn’t show the slightest bit of gratitude or love towards him. The mark that forever ruined his face didn’t even earn a “thank you”. A sign of gratitude, of love, and or of happiness was far too much to ask from The Queen of Hearts. Instead she was repulsed by his face and she forbid him to show himself to her unless called and he was only called when she wished for his strength to aid her in her quest to behead all who apposed her unlawful ways. All of Wonderland knew that Edward was revered by his mother though none chose to befriend or speak to him for they were afraid of the axe he held to slay when the beautiful snake hearted woman commanded.

Wonderland was a place Edward tried to leave behind. He never did join a society however he did seem very popular among the woodland creatures who inhabited the world around his log cabin. It was not uncommon to see a blue jay landing on his shoulder when he walked outside not a young fawn to fallow him with the watchful eyes of its mother gazing at them from beside the lake. Edward would sometimes wake up with an injured animal on his doorstep, perhaps a wolf who had survived a hunters wrath though gained several pellets in its hind leg. A few pack members may surround the home as Eddy removes the metal, cleans, and stitches the wolf in its time of need. For his kindness, calmness, and sad face he was well known and respected in the animal world however animals can not replace contact with human like beings and because of that Edward never learned how to interact with the creatures of Wonderland or the humans in the city anyway. Edward often took walks through the forest to keep from getting bored. He would keep his axe over his shoulder rather than drag it through the earth to prevent the ground from facing the same fate as those who displeased his mother.

Today Edward was looking for a dying tree. Some sort of ill and withering willow so he could collect some fire wood for the harsh winter months were quickly approaching. Fall was upon them now and all the animals were as busy as ever. Every day Eddy would find various offerings of food at his door as a thank you from the animals for helping them in their time of need and taking care of them year round. What am I to do with all those nuts anyway? Edward thought to himself as he walked towards the dead and darker part of the forest. His aware eyes caught sight of a curled figure in the leaf caked floor before he had the chance to trip over him. Slowly Edward crouched down and prodded the figure with the butt of his axe. The limp male was easily flipped to his back by the axe. He didn’t seem aware of his surroundings however the weakened and barely conscious male knew what he needed. “Water.” Edward heard the weak cry and continued to investigate his figure. He helped the boy sit up and supported his back while pulling out a water canteen. He unplugged the canteen with his teeth and helped the other to drink enough water to sustain him for the time before putting the plug back on and putting the canteen back in its proper place. The weakened male was soon lifted from the floor and taken back to Edward’s log cabin.

Occasionally Edward would find a human, a neko, a vampire, or some other creature left for dead or lost. Edward had always offered what he could and miraculously he had never been harmed by the less trustworthy of those he’d saved. He would always get the same reaction though… Whomever he saved would glance to his eye, then try not to look at his face to avoid being rude until told it was alright, and that it didn’t matter to him at all. Once they were well Edward would help them get to whichever way they wanted to go. Edward only had to slay his guests twice. Once a human accountant and once a human hunter. The human accountant thought him a monster and was going to get a mob to burn down the forest, kill all the animals and Edward. The hunter just tried to shoot him. Both men he gave a proper burial and both men were dug up by the carnivores of the forest, a wolf or a cougar, and eaten. Edward doubted this individual would be one to start conflict or obstruct the peace to anyone or anything around. Then again Edward could never be certain. He laid the lad on the only bed and began to undress him, leaving his undergarments on. Once the male was bare he tended to all of his injuries keeping hold of that same emotionless face he always wore.
