Shadow's drowsy eyes glinted with rage as felt the Cat ontop of him... although he felt to bloated and lazy to do anything about it at the moment. His long neck was out of the reach of his front paws that was until he slowly began curl up ready his tail swishing patiently by his nose... when...

"Aw, look, Remus, they are getting along now," Arila said cheerfully,

Shadow's tail stiffen and there was loud grating sound created by his claws digging into the floor... he off course could not crush the cat while she was watching.

Once his keeper was finished eating, shadow yawned again, and followed her back into the kitchen.

"You were a good boy at dinner. I'm very, very proud of you. Thank you, Shadow."

Shadow looked up surprised to her the praise, and thrummed happily though he was exactly sure what he had did to deserve it, he just laid there the entire time. He however wasn't going to complain. He yawned once more and looked at her... waiting her to finnish.

Bloodsplatter was old and wise and had a wicked soul. She knew when and where she could push things and she knew that with Arila in the room, she could use Shadow as a heating stone, which she did, as she leap up and landed on his shoulder lightly. She was bone thin and weigh nothing, though her poofy fur hid it. Gently she moved over the scales, until she was on the top of his head and then Bloodsplatter started to groom the scales in front of her.

"Aw, look, Remus, they are getting along now," Arila said cheerfully, looking at the cat and dragon. The two mages talked quietly until the bowls were empty and then Arila stood up, gathering the bowls, and headed into the kitchen to clean up. She held the door with her shoulder for Shadow, smiling at him and waiting for him to get all the way past before letting the door swing close. As she worked to clean the kitchen, she praised him and rubbed his nose, "You were a good boy at dinner. I'm very, very proud of you. Thank you, Shadow."

Shadow tilted his head, he hardly saw the family resemblance between his keeper and the grey tabby cat.

He nodded, agreeing quickly happy that Arila was speaking to him again and quickly ate peppermint she gave him again. Shadow then followed her into the dining room and settled down beside her and let a tired yawn. He was getting sleepy, it had been a long night... and eating all that wonderful made him all the more sluggish. But he waited for his keeper at the dinner table and listened quietly, with eye open and the other eye half way open. He was curious as why his keeper had chosen to come to this place... though it was quite obvious to him was that she just wanted to see that dumb Cat... or so he thought.

"Do you want some? I think your belly is gonna hurt as is, but I'll make a promise," she said, turning to look at him, a smile on her face and in her eyes. "Don't hurt my sister and I will make you everything you want to eat while I have the ability to cook for you."

Remus knew that Shadow was thinking he was a right traitor, but how could he refuse Arila and Bloodsplatter? They were the only two female in his life. He laughed at this thought and said merrily to Arila, "Soups on. I'll be in the dinning room eating if you need me."

"Yes master," she agreed meekly, looking back to Shadow. Reach into her pocket, she pulled out a bit of peppermint and said, "When your belly hurt, let this dissolve on your tongue. It'll help."

"Ah yes, in the freeze with the rest of the meat. You'll be able to tell it," Remus answered

Shadow stared at the cat, and then turned sharply glaring at Remus angrily when he spoke telling Arila where the fish was. Shadow stomped off to the far side of the and lay down, his eyes never leaving the cat... sending the Bloodsplatter a mental imagine of what it was going to look like after he had crushed him in his claws....

Shadow watched, as he lay on the floor very much depressed while Arila fed the cat its fish. Can I have some fish too? he asked Arila telepathically... even though Remus had fed him so much he was probably going to have a belly ache later....

With a lot of effort, she managed not to laugh as Shadow tried to make her jealous and her old master played along, rubbing the dragon's head and nose gently. Even though she had come in to make amends, she couldn't help, but be drawn into the petty game, as she asked Remus, "Do you have any fish? I want to cook something up for Bloodsplatter."

"Ah yes, in the freeze with the rest of the meat. You'll be able to tell it," Remus answered absentmindedly as he continued to cook, now making supper for himself and Arila. The cat leap up on the counter, now watching all of Shadow, weary of every part of him, from his tail to his eyes. She was a wise cat that didn't make the same mistake twice.

Moments later, Arila emegered from the cold room, shivering and carrying a fleet in her hand. She used her magic as she made a small meal for the old tabby and petted her as she ate it, cooing playfully to her and tugging on Bloodsplatter's ears.

Indeed, Shadow was eating anything and everything Remus gave him and more... accidentally eating a wooden spoon forgotten in the pots.... which would not harm him for he often ate digested large pieces of bone... whether it made him sick or not he would be the firs to know.

He lifted his head up seeing Arila coming back into the kitchen. He however nudged Remus instead trying to get him to pet his head as he were his only friend in the world. Shadow thrummed loudly acting as if he had been getting on fine while she had been gone.... and not eating himself to death like had been only moments ago.

If he followed her scent, he would find her on the porch, stroking the old tabby and looking into the meadow like lawn. She didn't mean to stay angry with Shadow but he kept doing things to annoy her and part of her mind knew that she was acting like a little girl that had gotten a puppy that wasn't born perfectly trained and she felt bad about that.

Setting Bloodsplatter down, she stood up and headed for Shadow, planning to ask his forgiveness and knowing that Remus was probably trying to feed her dragon until he was fat. Laughter escaped her as she imagined a fat Shadow and the tabby cat followed, weaving between her legs.

"Bloodsplatter!" Arila cried,

Hearing Arila's voice, Shadow turned happy to see her... that was at least for the moment.

"How could you hurt her? Do you have no shame?"

Shadow lowered his head and looked up at his keeper in hurt confusion. He had never been scolded for eating animals before.

"Don't tell him no. She's old and will die somehow anyway. I don't suppose you want to eat her."

The young dragon blinked surprised Remus had stuck up for him, he perked up eagerly lifting his head above the counter and looked toward Arila with hopeful eyes... he didn't see the cat any more different than the sweets Remus had been feeding him.

However Arila was to busy with the cat to notice him... Shadow then looked toward Remus wanting him to intervene.

"You'd think that she was still my apprentice. Tell me how this taste, will you Shadow?" he asked,

Shadow's blue eyes turned into narrow jealous slits and he moodily knocked the tasting bowl from Remus's hands and went straight for the pot and wolfed it down in seconds and paced about the kitchen angry that Arila was showing so much favor toward the cat.

"Bloodsplatter!" Arila cried, running in front of Shadow to scoop up the colorless cat. She spun towards Shadow and snarled, "How could you hurt her? Do you have no shame?" She cradled the old she-cat against her, oblivious to the fact that she was wearing nothing but a drying clothe and trailing water behind her. Reaching up with one hand, she caught an apple and began nibbling on it, as she lifted lids off of some of the pots, sniffing at the contents.

Remus scolded Arila by slapping the back of her hand and snapped at her, "Don't tell him no. She's old and will die somehow anyway. I don't suppose you want to eat her." He went back to cooking, ignoring the daggers she was glaring at him, but a smile played at his lips, showing that he was aware of her expression.

When the she-cat came to, Arila fussed over her, fetching her milk and playing with her paws, until she scooped the cat up and left with no word of farewell. The old mage chuckled again and said, "You'd think that she was still my apprentice. Tell me how this taste, will you Shadow?" he asked, opening a pot and used a bowl to spoon some out for the black scaled dragon.

Hearing Remus speak of food, Shadow followed behind him eagerly... he even forgot to bring his chandelier

He watched the old enter into the freezer... and then suddenly the kitchen became alive! Pots! Pans! Knifes, Spices, came flying in from all directions!

Shadow's head spun about on swivel, not sure what was happening, he let out a hiss, and lashed out with his tail sending a large cauldron flying off course and slamming into the far wall. He then leapt up snatched a pepper grinder out of the air with mouth... he of course quickly spat it out and let out loud sneeze....After which he was more cautious and left the flying objects alone.

When the young dragon's hungry eyes fixed onto plump fury cat on the counter top right next to him. Shadow grinned revealing a row of glistening white teeth.

Being a hunter, he new he could not make any sudden moves less he scare the cat. He had done many a times.... birds, squirrels, rabbits and cats.... it was pure instinct.

Ever so slowly, his long tail moved around the counter behind the grey tabby when ....Smack!

the tip of Shadows tail can across the cat's head from its blind side and struck it hard... hard enough to knock it flat out unconscious .

But just as Shadow was going to devour the cat, a frying pan struck him up side the head. The young dragon hissed in annoyance and whirled about momentarily distracted. This however did not last long and he turned back to the cat laying unconscious on the counter........

The old man chuckled and held out another sweet, tossing it into Shadow's mouth when his jaws parted. To see his home ruined by the creature didn't matter and it was rather amusing. He as well tilted his head to the side when the sound of running water reached him and jokingly he said, "Ah, we have lost Arila for hours now. She'll sit up there until her magic runs out. How about we fix ourselves something to eat? I don't look it, but I'm a first rate cook."

With that, he leap down and headed into his kitchen, which had a raised ceiling and was extremely spacious so that Shadow could move around more comfortable and more freely. The mage went into a room that he had enchanted to be cold and got out some meat and soon the old man had the whole kitchen moving with magic, as he chatter animatedly.

An old, gray tabby cat walked into the kitchen and hopped up on the counter near Shadow, her silver eyes scanning over him and darting to his face every time he moved near. Her paws were small and white, and she looked cute to the human eye, though she figured the scaly creature before her thought she was a snack. Stupid humans with their weird pets.
