He had watched Mai's expression change from one of lust, to surprise, to embarrassment, and then a mix of anger. Safe to say that once she backed away and hid herself using a pillow he couldn't help but give a weak smile and chuckle at her, she was cute. His smile then changed to one of self pride as he closed his eyes and then started to undo the buttons to his jacket. " Oh? I never implied that Mai, I only asked if there was something you were thinking of at the moment. " His voice was filled with amusement at this point, obviously she knew that he was just teasing her more now. He took off the jacket to reveal a black long sleeve shirt underneath before continuing with the laces of his shoes.

" Besides, you can't really blame me for liking you so much. " He had added while focusing on undoing ever tie he had made on one shoe before going to the other shoe. " But...I guess I'll try not to do things to you as much since you dislike it. " He had finished with that on purpose with her, having then taken off both shoes on the floor and then pulling his legs up on the large bed where a large space was still in between them.

At first she thought he wasn't going to say yes, the small silence that followed her question worried her just a bit - it reminded her of how they were just moments earlier and she really didn't want to go back to that. Her face lit up instantly when he said that he'd be staying though, of course her worrying was uncalled for. Just like it always was. She gave a small blink after hearing his question however and leaned a bit away from him once she noticed how close their faces were. Not that she'd mind a kiss from him, it was just a matter of trying not to blush when she'd been the one trying to make him turn red from her question after all.

Her plan had completely backfired once he kissed her though, a small, weak moan escaping her when he broke it - her face of course only turning redder in reaction to hearing it. "N-no...I just wanted to know if you'd be here in the morning too.." She meekly answered back before glancing up at him. "Besides.... all I asked was a question! You're the one who seems like there's more on your mind..." She mentioned before crawling up to the pillows and putting one in front of her. "Pervert..." She whispered just loud enough for him to hear before looking away as her own face continued to get redder.

He couldn't help but smile when she tried to comfort him about having not being mad for long. It was cute because he knew that she would say something like that to make his mind at ease, even if he was troubling to her or had done something wrong to her - she would forgive him easily or tell him that she wasn't mad for long. " I'll try to be a bit better.. " He mentioned to her while she seemed even more happy as the time between them went on. Though her next question had made him feel suddenly a bit tense - that look of hers always meant that she had something on her mind so he knew that he should be afraid...

But...he didn't mind, even if she teased him or made him do things he'd oblige considering that he was a jerk as of late. " Yah, all night. " He had said while looking down at her, his head leaning in a bit closer as their faces were only inches apart. " Why? Have something in mind? " He had whispered to her before giving a quick kiss before she replied only to pull back a bit to allow her to answer him.

Mai gave a small blink at hearing his anwser and looked over at him, a bit taken aback with that. He had missed her? But.. she had only been mad at him for an hour or two, it couldn't have been more than that - though she wasn't exactly sure since everything seemed to go by agonizingly slow when she wasn't around him. "I.." She had started to say, only to stop as a small blush started to creep up on her once he'd kissed her back. It might've just been her cheek, but even something as small as that made her heart give it's same old quickened pace. "You did?" She finally asked after searching for something better to say came up with nothing. "I was only mad at you for a little while though.." She mentioned, her gaze going from him down to their fingers intertwined.

Saying it out loud, maybe that's what caused it, but she gave a small smile at the tiny realization that popped in to her mind. Riku did need. She did belong here, even if she didn't fit in and there were other people more suited for the part she had, they belonged together simply because they needed eachother. The whole time she thought it was the other way around, but now it had just occurred that it wasn't as one sided as she thought. "I missed you too Riku.." She whispered back before resting her head on his shoulder again. "So you're gonna stay tonight right?" She asked before looking up at him with a slight mischievous look to go along with it.

I was considering getting new flooring and wallpaper for the room.

It was the truth. While he was counting down the seconds to waiting for her to come into the room he found the furniture and walls bland. It was the boredom that got to him that made everything so painfully long and the impatience he felt only added to the mix to his frustration - now it just seemed like the time was speeding past while she was close to him. He was glad that she seemed to have forgiven him despite having been a horrible liar, it was obvious that she wanted to be close to him while she had an angry look. " No, I'm really sorry.. " He had said while she brushed her hair a bit. It annoyed him that she was the one displaying her back to him, he had never received such a manner of disrespect from people before, he had a childish pout the whole time until she finished.

When she sat beside him and rested her head on his shoulder, he slightly felt warmer with her having been so close. Her question having been lost to him as he was trying to figure out an explanation to her question. " Um. " He began and then looked back down at her before blinking slowly. " I was thinking about...how much I missed you. " He said, a half-truth but he wouldn't feel as guilty saying it to her now. He smiled at her as she seemed to have forgiven him from what he could tell while staring at her, having then kissed her cheek back. " I missed you.. " He whispered.

Mai hadn't expected to see him here at all, she was honestly a bit surprised and at the same time she couldn't help but notice the things she'd thought about before seeming to have no effect now, almost completely erasing themselves from her mind for the time as she looked at him. But, when he finally did start talking he seemed to being going around in circles and.. was he blushing now? She raised her eyebrow as she looked at him and crossed her arms, what exactly did he wanna say that was making him act this way?

Once she finally heard him apologize and say he loved her she gave a small sigh and walked over to the vanity next to the closet and took out a brush. "Are you just saying that so I'll stop being mad and ignoring you?" She asked as she brushed her hair and glanced at him through the mirror. She'd heard what she wanted, but it really didn't matter if he didn't mean it. After she'd finished brushing her hair and put a matching headband in she looked over at him and went to go sit next to him, obviously having been much happier now with the way she'd given a small skip every other step - she acted like she was still mad but it was really plain to see she'd already forgiven him minutes ago. She sat down next to him and leaned on him as she laid her head down on his shoulder, having quickly taken his hand in hers as well. "You looked...kinda weird when I came in. What were you thinking about?" She asked before looking up at him and giving his cheek a quick kiss.

While Mai had been away, he found himself slowly lull away into boredom. It was strange that before he had met her he was used to having nobody to talk with, Karen had been in this country and Dante had not been the type to remain in the room for long when duties had to be done, so why he was bored now was a strange occurrence to him. Perhaps he was used to having Mai around by now, she had always something to say and tended to complain to him before about having to be his servant, now being without her just felt so boring. He looked down at his shoes with a blank stare, his eyes following the black lace that was crossed through each loop until it went along in a circle to complete the loop of the tie - he began to wonder if he was losing his sanity now with what he had just done. He shut his eyes and began to realize that maybe he was attached to Mai a bit more than he thought he was, or it was that he knew that apologizing to her was going to take a longer time since he never felt the need to do it before. " I'm..I..apologize...No? Hm, I'm sorry? No, that won't do. I apologize for..being rude so let's just kiss and makeup! Yah..right, she'd slap me. Um..." He began to feel time move even slower now...

He had then heard the door close and looked up to see Mai having already been back, what seemed like hours suddenly sped up to a few minutes and he felt unprepared already. Her question also made him suddenly feel pressured, that she wanted him to apologize - the nerve! He just wasn't ready yet for such a thing that's all! He looked back down at the floor and began to slowly turn a bit red. " I'm...here because..." He started with a weak voice before having become loud enough for her to hear. " because...I wanted to.. " He was dodging the main point as much as he could but he was already running out. " I..am sorry and I..love you...so please forgive me. " He had finished while still staring downwards with a crimson flush in his cheeks.

Mai had finally found the bathroom after opening about 4 other doors. The others were either locked or just didn't seem like bathroom doors to her, which simply frustrated her to no end and only made the whole going home idea even more reasonable. She knew where things were there - her house was small and perfect, these houses that Riku took her to.. they were bigger than anything she'd ever seen. She looked under the sink and found some toothpaste, having squeezed some on she started brushing her teeth as all her various thoughts swirled round and round.

One though, probably the one that bothered her the most, was the fact that she didn't fit in here - she didn't belong. There was an obvious difference between her, Riku and Karen, and it didn't seem fair that she was just now noticing this. After she finished with her toothbrush she set it down in the holder and with a small sigh figured she might as well go to bed now. When she walked in to her room she hadn't noticed Riku until she'd closed the door and turned around. "Whoa..." She mumbled, giving a small blink in surprise. "What..what do you want?" She'd finally asked after a few moments of silence passed between them.

The lesson hadn't continued but he got an extremely long speech about the 'feeling's a girl has and how to treat them from Karen, a part of him wondered when she became his psychiatrist and counselor about dating advice but she was right in the end. He knew that he must have said something wrong to Mai but didn't want to take the blame, being spoiled your whole life and having others clean messes up for you made him feel as he could do no fault, that was why Karen was so different than all the other maids - she scolded him. More than once he found himself being told off by her for having done something wrong or having same something rude, perhaps that was why he developed such an attraction to her - she never listened or let him get away with anything but that was a completely other matter. Now Riku had to deal with Mai in a proper manner it seems and apologize to her, something he loathed to do to people of all things - apologize. If he could, he would've paid somebody else or had left a note at her door but it didn't seem like Karen appreciated the ideas and plans of his with much appreciation.

" Fine, fine.. " He said and stood up, having then left her with clearing away the violin and stand. Now came the search for Mai which he knew was going to end - her bedroom was her only destination he figured. But once he looked upstairs and saw all the open doors, having walked past the room that Mai was actually within looking for a bathroom, and headed straight into her room she wasn't there to his surprise. He had walked into her bedroom and took a seat, sighing as he figured that he would wait for her until she came back. " Where'd she wander to.. " He whispered.

Once Mai had reached the top of the stairs she looked back down them at the muffled sound of new music coming from the room. Of course there wouldn't be a moment between when she'd shut the door and when he started playing again, he was having a lesson after all so he wouldn't come and see if she was okay now - he didn't like her anymore, he didn't want her around anyways so he was probably happy she'd left. She walked over to her room and as quietly as she could shut the door before she trudged her way over to the bed. For the first time in a long time since meeting Riku, she actually wished to be home.

She laid there quietly for a few more minutes before finally deciding, though she still didn't like her very much, it wouldn't be fair to Karen if she slept in her clothes. Having giving a small sigh as she sat up she walked over to the closet and started digging through things before finding a pink nightgown. She gave a small blink at the thing before a small smile crossed her lips, he'd said he'd get her one of these...hadn't he? She came out after changing and set her clothes on a chair by the balcony window, walking out of the room and into the hall soon after. Now if only she could find the bathroom and her toothbrush she'd be all ready for bed...so instead of calling down for someone to come up and show her which was the easy option, she took the Mai option and started opening up every door she could find until she got the bathroom.

Riku hadn't responded to her praise at first, the fact she listened to it made him feel shy and reserved. He looked at her cautiously before she left, his own head dropping to the floor as he heard the door close before she waited for him to respond. He knew that she must have had other things on her mind, that what he said to her before was still bothering her but she refused to acknowledge it or give it much thought. He knew that for now he would leave her alone and address it all later. He continued playing the violin once more, having pushed Mai from his mind with the sounds and tune from his instrument. He didn't understand her sometimes, her childish behavior was troubling when she pouted and didn't get her ways - he was to blame partly for it but he knew he'd solve it later.

Karen, unlike the two, noticed that they were avoiding one another from the start - Mai was off in her own world and Riku was hanging his head down and being quiet, an easy sign from him, but she sighed only when she watched the two go their opposite ways on how to address the issue. Children! Both of them! She only looked as Riku played another song before having waited until he was finished with it before her hand collided with the back of his head. " Ow! What the hell!? " He said as he stumbled forward a bit and glared at the maid. " That's for whatever you did. " She mentioned and then walked past him. " You better apologize to her for what you did, or didn't do...or did wrong. " She gave him a curious look before he blinked and turned the other way. " Don't give me that perverted look. " He mumbled and put away the violin and sat down, grumbling to himself.

Mai had looked from Riku to Karen at the mention of him being shy and gave a small laugh before nodding. "Ah..I see." She answered, having followed behind them when they left seeing as the whole house was still so new to her. It seemed strange to her though that he wouldn't tell her something like that, was it that embarrassing to him that he wouldn't mention it to his..well...wasn't he think of her as his girlfriend before? Now that she wasn't really sure how he felt about her it seemed pretty obvious why he wouldn't mention it to someone he didn't care about though.

She sat down in the chair and gave a small sigh before glancing over at Riku once again. He was so hard to understand, and she wasn't even sure if she wanted to see him tonight. But at the same time she hoped maybe if they had a chance to talk without the fact they had something else to go do in the back of it all they'd be able to sort everything out. Once the song was over she looked up from her thoughts and clapped her hands together gently before standing up and giving him a small smile. "That was really..nice Riku. Thanks for playing in front of me. I liked it a lot ya know!" She said before taking a few steps towards towards the door. "I'm...gonna go get ready for bed though. If that's okay?" She had asked before walking out without hearing his anwser, she'd only asked to seem polite in front of Karen after all.
