The teacher was on the outside of the building on his cell phone. "It was him...i never thought i'd see him again in my life. His eye's are the same as they were right before the things started to happen. I won't be put in the same situation. I will not be responsible for these kids i'm quitting today." The teacher hung up his cell phone and pulled out a cigarette. He took in a deep breath then released a puff of smoke.

Vel nodded. He began to let his mind drift as he walked the halls that lead outside. He noticed a small red puddle coming from under a door. He opened it to see a student that had cut himself open with a letter opener. He looked on in horror before closing the door. He took in a breath, and reopened it. He looked around, and quickly ran outside. He wouldn't tell anyone. He reached where he was to wait for her.

Mori blinked in shock at the teachers reaction, a serious expression forming. What in the hell had that been all about? The only conclusion that her insticts gave her was that the rumors surrounding Vel had some sort of meaning behind them. Once the students started leaving class, Mori decided she would try to figure something out. With a quick smile to Vel, she said "I'll meet you outside, I gotta run to the little girls room." Then she slipped out the door the same way the teacher had left, making a list in her head of places he would be if he were still on grounds, the offices being first choice.

He couldn't just keep being so cold even if she was planning to turn him into more of a joke...maybe for the first time since he came to this school he wouldn't have to eat lunch alone. "I...o-ok...i guess..." He seemed very usure about his answers, and even more reluctant. With that he turned to the teacher as he walked in. The teacher began to speak. "Hello i'm your new teacher i just transferred from...." His eye's caught Vel's. He gulped, and packed up his things before leaving. Vel gripped his book tightly hiding behind it. The teacher looked ghostly white as he left the room. Not only that, but he didn't give any instructions. After 20 minutes or so the children began to pile out. It was the class prior to lunch anyway.

Mori sighed slightly. Her attempts just weren't working. She was sure she had missed her chance now to talk to him, but she would keep trying ... just a bit longer. "Um .... would you want to eat lunch with me? Its such a pretty day .... the picnic tables seem like a nice place," she said gently.

He slowly veered his eye's to her. "yeah." He said shortly. Then turned back to the window. He was sure now she was merely talking to him because she thought it would be more awkward not to. He knew her mind had already been filled with the rumor. He felt bad for being cold, but he wasn't about to let himself open up just to be hurt or mocked there was enough of that without people knowing the truth. If they acutally found out some facts.

Mori made her way to the next class contemplating how she was going to go about the new task that seemed to have fallen in her lap. But once she saw how Vel ignored her and shoved right past, she felt a tug of sadness somewhere inside. Something about seeing him upset got to her, and she wasn't sure why. Maybe the questioning could take a back seat for the moment? Right now she just wanted to talk to him. She made her way to sit beside him and smiled timidly, speaking in a quiet, careful voice, "Hey? History was boring today, huh? I hope not all the classes are like that today .... " Maybe small talk would loosen him up.

Vel was making his way toward his next class when he saw Mori. He'd seen her friends grab her. He knew exactly what came next. Now that she knew she would probably keep her distance. He didn't even bother looking up at her as he made his way through the door. A sort of sad emotionless look on his face as he obviously avoided eye contact. He found a seat by the window to stare out to avoid having to see another person who wanted nothing to do with him.

Mori nodded in sync with the class as they got out their homework, passing it forward to the teacher and then preparing to take notes on the next lesson. Mori became distracted by the lesson until class was over and one of her friends ran up to her, ushering her outside the classroom to say something important. Mori nodded and then looked back at Vel, smiling lightly before saying, "I'll see you later, ok?" Then she let her friend pull her away, only to tell her of the rumors surrounding Vel. Mori's face contorted with what could be read as frustration at the fact that her peers weren't very creative in rumor-making ... they just skipped straight to being cruel. But really, she found the information interesting. When she met up with Vel next, she wanted to get to know him more ... but she wasn't just going to come out and ask.

Vel was a little relieved as the teacher walked in. He had begun to notice that the other students were starting to stare. He never really talked much, and this was partly why. He didn't want anyone to be so ostrescized like himself. The teacher came in. It was history class. Vel didn't much care for it, but he was doing well enough.
"So did everyone do the homework?" The teacher asked.

Mori smiled wider as she saw that he was loosening up a bit and talking to her. She liked seeing him smile. Then as soon as he blushed and ducked back into his book she rose an eyebrow, surprised by the sudden change. Did she say something? But before she could ask, the teacher walked into the room and called for class to start, so she turned and faced forward. She glanced around and noticed many of her classmates were staring at her, which made her curious. They were giving her such strange looks that as soon as she could speak she was going to ask what the deal was ..... she had yet to hear the rumors.

He nodded. "Yes we actually share most of our classes except for about two, and then i have my extracuriculars." He smiled weakly. This was the longest he'd ever held up a conversation with a person at this school generally the only conversation people seemed to ever want to get started was about the stupid rumour. It suddenly occured to him that what if she was working undercover so see if she could find anything out. It certainly would make sense pretty girls don't just talk to you for no reason. He suddenly blushed. ' Did he think she was pretty.' he thought to himself. He hid his face behind his book again.

Mori had been smiling attently until his last statement, which made her smile fade and her shoulders slump. "Oh .... so you must live close by me then," she said quietly, feeling a bit quilty. She really hadn't been paying attention as well as she should have. She tried smiling lightly again, "Well in that case it makes us neighbors too!" She cocked her head to the side as another thought came to her, "Oh, you have gym with me as well .... and science I believe ...."
