| Tear-streaked cheeks and pink eyes, Summer stood beside Vincent, holding his limp hand tightly between hers. She grimaced, hearing that Corinne refused to leave when Dominic brought up the idea of leaving her to be alone with him. Her back faced the two, so they couldn't see her discomfort. She wanted to talk to Vincent, but how weird would that be with the two of them around? Summer loosened her grip, bringing one hand to her face to wipe away the wet marks that lead from her eyes to her chin. She leaned forward to whisper into Vincent's ear. "You have no idea how much I miss you right now... how much it hurt to see you limp and lifeless in the ambulance. But it's okay, because soon you'll regain consciousness and we can be together again. Really together, where you can hear me, feel me holding your hand, kiss me...." her voice trailed off. She missed his kisses the most. Sweet, gentle kisses. Summer brushed her lips softly against his. It wasn't the same. It would never be the same until he woke up. A new stream of tears flowed down her face, a few drops splashing on his face. She wiped them away and stood back so that her tears wouldn't land on him.
Summer took a few steps back, falling against a wall, allowing her back to slide slowly down until she was sitting crumpled upon the white linoleum floor. Hands over her eyes, trying not to sob. Afraid that he wouldn't wake up again.
-----
Vincent heard her words, his heart breaking further. It couldn't possibly get worse. But it did. He heard her crying faintly away from his body, somewhere at the edge of the room. And he knew that somewhere in the room, Dominic was holding Corinne, comforting her like he couldn't. And to make matters worse, he couldn't give in to the darkness this time. Couldn't escape the sounds of the world around him. Didn't the doctors have a way to figure out that his brain was still active? Couldn't they figure out how to fix the rest of him? Hook his brain back to his body? Maybe he really was brain-dead like most coma patients. Maybe this was all a dream. All part of his imagination. Unfortunately, the small voice in the back of his head told him otherwise. And he was afraid that he believed it.
[Exactly :O when it happens to me, I read a post, really like it, have a pretty good thought out response... but then I think to myself "I really don't want to do this right now." so I don't. and then I keep putting it off until I feel really horrible and have to reply, even if it's crappy >> ohhh, procrastination. my sole enemy.]_________________ Recent Movies: Up ; What Happens In Vegas ; The Road To El Dorado ; The Haunting In Connecticut ; Donnie Darko (yes, again xD) |

| The music played within her mind, recalling the first they had gone over the lyrics. Neither of them had known how to play the guitar, but Corrine had atleast learned to play the piano so they had managed to create a tune for it. From that point in time each one of them had vowed to learn to play atleast the guitar or some other sort of instrument. Unfortunately that had been ruined when her mother clearly didn't want to noise of rock and roll through the house.
Sitting in the backseat of the car, Corrine leaned her weight onto Dominic. His arm wrapped around her gently. "Its going to be ok....just wait...." He assured her planting a kiss on her forehead. No words came from the brunette, she merely smiled lightly. Lets hope for Vincent's sake... she thought, closing her eyes.
The following afternoon hadn't much changed, but atleast the nurses weren't being total bitches. Visitors were allowed to enter, in certain numbers. So after allowing Vincent's parents went in to see their son in his current condition, Summer, Corrine, and Dominic trailed in. Once again the tears threatened to set in, but Corrine hadn't allowed it that time. She forced them back, knowing crying wasn't going to bring him back. Her fingers entwined with Dominic's, squeezing his hand in comfort. Her eyes traveled over to Summer, seeing her in such a mess. Corrine could only imagine what she was feeling, but really she knew exactly how it felt. She was so much closer to Vincent in comparison to Summer. Leaning against her boyfriend, humming once again the tune. Dominic gazed down at her softly, "Corrine...?" He nudged her. The girl closed her eyes for a moment. "Shh..." she said. He didn't question her, instead he looked back towards Summer, "We'll give you some time alone." He sugguested. At that point Corrine shook her head, hazel eyes narrowing slightly. "No, we're staying." She said taking a seat down in the chair across from the bed upon the opposite side Summer was on. "He's my best friend.."
(( I know O.o, its like horrible. This like massive wave of laziness hits you, and then brain dies of all ideas XD))

| If he could've smiled, he would have. She was singing a song they'd written back when they were in their "we're gonna start a band and become rockstars, tour the world" phase. It never quite left Vincent. He'd written a few songs since then and still was determined to learn how to play a guitar. Unfortunately the parents thought it was a waste of time. That he should be studying so he could go to an Ivy League college, become a doctor or a lawyer, or some other shit that would make him rich. Vincent obviously didn't want that. He wanted to do something, make something, that he loved. And he loved music.
As Corinne's voice trailed off, he could hear the door open with a loud creak, and the nurse's voice broke the moment of silence. Corinne said her goodbye and the door closed again. She was gone. And Vincent couldn't even tell her goodbye in return. He let his mind drift into sleep; what was the point in staying 'awake'? He could only hear the pain of those whom he loved.
The next day he 'awoke' to the loud sounds of his mother's sobs, knowing his father had his arm wrapped around her slim shoulders, but to no avail. Had he missed Summer again? A small part of him hoped so. She'd probably cry a lot, then cuss at him for being such an idiot and getting hit. Then cry again. And Vincent didn't want to be annoyed or feel bad that he couldn't do anything about it. But he missed her voice. Hers and Corinne's. And sure, he wanted to hear Dominic, but not if Dominic was comforting Cor. He felt angry at the prospect, which in turn made him feel confused, and angry at himself. Vincent wasn't jealous. Well, he tried to tell himself that.
Once his parents had left and Vince let out an inner sigh of relief, quiet at last, the door slammed open, and someone ran to the side of his bed. "Vincent!" Summer exclaimed, sounding choked up with tears. Vincent almost decided to go back to sleep so he wouldn't have to listen to her cry and yell, but stopped himself, hearing another set of footsteps, or two?, enter the room after her.

| Brushing the back of her hands over her eyes, corrine managed to keep away the tears that often seeped from her eyes. Seeing Vincent lay there motionless brought an empty feeling to her stomach, like perhaps he'd never wake up. Never smile at her again. The thought sent her into a further saddened state. Leaning forward, she allowed her chin to sit within her palm. The poor girl felt like she had left him, yet she couldn't really explain it.
Extending her hand out, she allowed her fingers to graze his own while pulling his hand up gently within her own. "If....you can hear me...." Corrine began, a light smile touching her lips, "you'd probably be laughing at the fact it took us several attempts to get in here....nurses are total bitches...." She laughed softly, "Fortunately atleast one of us managed to sneak in." Corrine sighed, knowing out there Summer and Dominic were probably waiting as well to hear how Vincent was doing. "You have to wake up Vince, Summer needs you.....I need you." Corrine bit back more tears that threatened to fall, but being as strong willed as she was she didn't allow them. Corrine softly hummed to a song the two had written just a year ago.
"Chasing patterns Across a personal map Makeing pictures Where the lines overlap Where the lines overlap
No one is as lucky as us We're not at the end but We already won No no, no one Is as lucky as us...." Corrine's words faded as the sound of the door snapped her out her thoughts. Her eyes traveled over towards the figure that entered the room. "Ma'am visiting hours are over, I ask that you please leave. You may visit him tommorrow." The nurse urged Corrine, motioning her to exit. Releasing Vincent's hand, Corrine rose to her feet. "Bye Vince..." She said quietly, a frown finding its way across her lips.
Exiting the room, the nurse ushered her down the hallway and out towards the lobby where she was met with both Dominic and Summer. Shrugging her shoulders lightly, Corrine had to remain as strong as she was. "He's....well not awake, and I didn't really get to see the doctor who attended him so I don't really know much on his condition." Corrine explained, feeling Dominic wrap an arm around her. "Atleast we know he's stable....I'm sure he's going to be fine." He assured both girls. Shifting her attention to Summer, Corrine spoke once again. "Their really bitchy about visitors.....I'm sure if you come in tommorrow they'll let you in." Corrine said, feeling somewhat triumphant for getting in to see her friend first.
Ooc: OMG I finally managed to post to this. I'm hoping you still want to do it. If only procrastination didn't get me so bad xD

| The strange thing about comas was that you could hear everything around you, yet you couldn't control your body. Your mind was awake, but your body was asleep. Or rather, dead since it never moved. Eventually the mind'll get tired and you'll fall asleep, but when you were awake...
No! Don't cry, Cor...it was my fault...damnit, I can't speak! Cor... he could hear her sobs, but couldn't respond. He'd been 'awake' for a while now, hearing the doctors and nurses rush him in, stitch him up, attach him to a bunch of wires he couldn't see, couldn't feel. He heard 'life support' mumbled somewhere. Great. Practically dead. Why couldn't he have just died? It was worse to hear those you loved upset because of you. And there was nothing Vincent could do but listen. Corinne couldn't hear his thoughts. He couldn't comfort her. That was Dominic's job now. Where was he anyway? And what about Summer? Had they come and he was asleep? Damn. But then again, he didn't want to hear Summer cry. It was bad enough with Corinne.
She was strong. Stronger than all the guys he knew. And she was crying. Pouring her soul out like that. Vincent's heart broke. It was all his fault. If he could cry, he would've. But his body didn't respond.
-------------
Summer sat in the lobby, fidgeting. Damn it all to hell. Corinne got in before her. On one hand, she was glad someone could check on how Vincent was doing. But on the other, she was insanely jealous. It should've been her. She was the girlfriend after all. Dominic seemed pleased that the plan had worked. Her plan. Summer felt the tears well up behind her eyes and she picked out a magazine to distract her from crying. It wasn't fair._________________ Recent Movies: Up ; What Happens In Vegas ; The Road To El Dorado ; The Haunting In Connecticut ; Donnie Darko (yes, again xD) |

| Of course her plans never actually worked, but perhaps maybe this one time it would. Corrine listened as Summer explained what they all needed to do. At that point the girl had taken a seat and began scanning threw a magazine, pretending to be waiting. Watching from the corner of her eyes, she smiled lightl seeing Dominic easily using his charm to distract the receptionist. In the process Summer had slipped past the first obstacle. Her next goal would have to be finding his room. Unfortunately things didn't go as planned, and the total bitch of a nurse had shown her outside instead.
Mere moments passed until Summer had come through the front doors once again only to plop down in a seat across from Dominic who had returned to his chair seconds ago. Looking over at her he frowned, "Yeah I can't believe she made you leave." He said, "Corrine's the only chance we've got now." His gaze shifted to the other girl who rose to her feet. Grasping the phone in hand, she gave a nod of aknowledgement in their direction. Stepping over to the receptionist her eyes were filled with tears again, the girl sobbed.
"I-i'm here to see...my brother....he was in a car accident..." Corrine said, wiping the tears from her eyes. The receptionist allowed her to go on past the doors. Still building up tears in her eyes, Corrine came upon the same nurse from earlier. "I'm..looking for my brother vincent...." She said looking really as saddened as possible. The nurse at first hadn't believed her, but with a few more words she had been convinced. Being led to the room, Corrine felt accomplished and relieved that atleast she was being able to see vincent first.
"I'll give you a few minutes hun, because visiting hours ended a while ago." The nurse said, opening the door to allow Corrine in. Silence filled the air as she entered. The only sound that filled her ears was that of the life support machines that beeped in the background. Moving into the room, Corrine bit her lower lip. She felt horrible seeing him like this, burying her face within her hands she cried once again. God...vincent... she thought, sinking down into the chair across from his bed. "I'm...so sorry." Corrine said softly, wiping her eyes.

| Summer smiled mischievously. She liked the way Corinne thought. "Good idea. I have a good backup plan...but Dominic has to distract her first. If I get caught, we wait a few minutes, then you go up and claim you're his sister. Here, you can take his phone as evidence," Summer handed Corinne the black cell phone. Once Dominic was talking to the receptionist and Corinne was pretending to be thumbing through a magazine, Summer pushed the double doors open a crack and slid through, walking silently down the hall. A nurse walked down the perpendicular hallway at the end of the one Summer was in. "Excuse me?" Summer called out, promptly being ignored. She groaned and yelled again, but louder, "NURSE!"
The woman stopped and glared at Summer, an obvious "I'm busy little girl, leave me the hell alone." Summer smiled sweetly, trying very hard not to spit venomous words. Vincent better appreciate me minding my temper for him when I see him... She thought. "I'm looking for my boyfriend, Vincent? I've been told that it's okay to visit him now that he's settled in a room." A harder glare. Cue sarcasm. "Why, of course! Right this way..." the nurse led Summer down a hall. She grinned, feeling like a true winner. Nurse lady opened a door and gave Summer a small push. "Visiting hours ended." and shut the door with a smile. Summer had been pushed out the side door. Outside. That bitch.
When she entered through the front doors again, she grimaced and sat across from Dominic. "Just my luck, I get the nurse assigned to his room, am I right?" she frowned and glared at the double doors. "Go for it, Corinne. You guys look similar enough, I guess. Hey, and siblings don't always look alike. Just look really upset. Maybe she'll pity you."

| Her fingers were tightly wrapped around Dominic's, while her heart raced with the uneasyiness that had crawled into her system. She felt so sick from the actual feeling she swore she was about to puke. Biting back the sensation within, Corrine could only close her eyes and allow herself to try and deny the fact that Vincent was currently in the emergency room or even the fact this had ever happened. Everything around her seemed to slowly stop, become nothing but blurs and soft sounds. She swore she could hear dominic speak and try to calm her but she drowned it out. All that certainly mattered at that point was Vincent and whether or not he'd make it out of this. ---- Her soft hazel eyes slid open once again, hearing and seeing Summer speak to the lady at the front desk. No use though since she wasn't family. Frowning inwardly, Corrine glanced over to Summer. "Hey Summer...." She said, coming up with an idea. Perhaps if Corrine herself distracted the women, Summer could sneak in to see whether or not Vincent was alright. "I'll distract her, and see if you can make it past those doors. Maybe one of the nurses through there can tell you sometihng." The girl sugguested. Standing up from Dominic's lap she looked back towards the boy, "Its worth a try." Dominic suddenly siad, knowing the women at the front desk wasn't about to tell them anytihng.

| "I wish I knew...but they haven't said a word to me yet..." Summer replied, her heart aching at the sight of Corinne with Dominic. She wished Vincent were there to hold her hand. But she really didn't have any good friends here, and no one to comfort her. At least she had company, but when the company was a newly-formed happy couple, it was hard to appreciate when she was alone and her boyfriend could possibly be dead. Tears rolled down her cheeks, her heart breaking into even smaller pieces as the second hand ticked on the wall's clock. Each tick of the clock sounded louder and louder, drowning out all noises around Summer. Tick...tock...tick....tock.... She wanted to scream. Cry. Rip her ears off. It was impossibly loud. Was she going insane? Could anyone hear the repetitive sound as loud as she could? No. Corinne and Dominic looked fine. Their heads weren't about to explode. Summer stood up abruptly and hurried to the front desk. "Is Vincent okay? The boy who was just wheeled in?" The receptionist merely gave her a blank look. "Are you family?" the woman pushed her glasses up, expressionless. "Uhh, no." Summer replied impatiently, tapping her foot. "Then I can't disclose information. Regardless, if the patient has just been admitted, there shouldn't be results for...at least another hour or so. Possibly longer." The woman had a nasally, monotonous voice. It irratated Summer. She scowled and turned away, stomping back to her seat to break down in uneven sobs once more._________________ Recent Movies: Up ; What Happens In Vegas ; The Road To El Dorado ; The Haunting In Connecticut ; Donnie Darko (yes, again xD) |

| The paramedics took no hesitation to turn them down on a ride within the ambulance, but Corrine didn't let it bother her too much. Instead her focus remained on the boy who had just been hit by a car. Her own best friend was low broken and lifeless at that point thanks to some ass who hadn't watched where they were driving. Wiping the tears from her eyes with the sleeve of her hoodie, Corrine gave a nod of aknowledge towards Summer who told them to meet her at the hospital. Once the doors of the ambulance had closed, it drove away and at that point Corrine had turned towards Dominic. More tears spilled from those hazel colored eyes. "Come on." He urged her, wrapping an arm around her shoulders to pull her small frame closer. She leaned against him, taking in the comfort he offered. "He'll be fine, you know Vince is strong...." Dominic tried to reassure her as they approached Corrine's sister's car. The older girl leaning against it was clearly angry at the fact Corrine had taken so long, but the moment she noticed her sister's expression she hadn't taken long to ask what was wrong. ----- Sinking into the back seat, Corrine allowed herself to press into Dominic's side. The warmth radiating off him eased her somewhat. "So what hospital?" Emma asked, glancing back at her sister and her boyfriend. Corrine slipped her phone out from the depths of her pocket, flipping it open to scan over the text she had recieved from Vincent's phone. Once she had told Emma which one, the older girl pulled off the main road and into the parking lot of the hospital. ---- Exiting the car, Corrine's hand wrapped firmly around Dominic's to pull him along behind her. The boy himself was uneasy about the situation, he too worried for his friend's health and only hoped he would come out of this. "Theres Summer." Dominic motioned towards the blonde haired girl sitting within the lobby. Moving forward Corrine stepped infront of Summer, clearly wanting to know if anything was said about Vincent. "How's he doing? Has the doctor come out yet?" Corrine asked, finally getting words to form from her mouth. Dominic sank himself into a seat across from summer while rubbing his temples. "We just have to wait and see." The boy said, glancing over at the clock. His hand extended out to grasp Corrine's once again before pulling her towards him and onto his lap. "I...just can't believe this...." Corrine said, her words breaking up once again as she felt herself want to cry just that much more.

| "Excuse me? Miss?" a paramedic tapped Summer on the shoulder. She looked up at him with glassy eyes and tear-stained cheeks. "What is your relation to the boy? he spoke softly, being extremely nice to the heart-broken teen. "G-girlfriend..." her voice cracked as she fumbled to say the word aloud. "Okay then, you can come. But you have to wait in the lobby while we check his injuries." She nodded and turned to see Corinne and Dominic being rejected a ride. Summer slipped Vincent's phone from his pocket and held it tightly in her shaking palms. "I-I'll call you when w-we get th-there. M-meet me there, o-okay?" she tried to say as calmly as possible as the paramedics lifted her inside as well, the tears running freely down her cheeks now.
The shut the double doors, locking them securely in place. Summer glanced at Vincent's peaceful expression and began sobbing even harder. It wasn't fair. He did nothing wrong! She hoped the asshole who hit him was sued. Summer knew that revenge was the last thing she should worry about, but she couldn't help it. She was sad, angry, and confused. When her phone vibrated in her pocket, a text from her mom, capital letters, "WHERE ARE YOU?" she ignored it. Sure, she'd miss the sale. Sure, her mom would be pissed. But Summer couldn't possibly explain in a coherent sentence at the moment with her breathing coming in short gasps.
Once arriving, Summer watched Vincent get wheeled to emergency as she was dragged to the waiting room. She sat still, staring at Vincent's cell phone in her palm for a moment without looking away. The whole experience was so unreal, that she was almost certain that she'd wake up and have to go to school for real, that the entire day had been some sort of twisted nightmare. But it wasn't and Corinne was waiting. So Summer opened his contacts and found Corinne, unsurprised that she was on his speed-dial as number 2. Voicemail being 1. She felt a little miffed that she wasn't ahead of Corinne, but immediately pushed the scorn away. Cor was his best friend and could've been girlfriend. Made sense she was ahead. He'd met Summer long after knowing Corinne. She sent a quick text of the name of the hospital (since there were a few in the immediate area) and snapped the cell shut, leaning back to observe the lines on the ceiling._________________ Recent Movies: Up ; What Happens In Vegas ; The Road To El Dorado ; The Haunting In Connecticut ; Donnie Darko (yes, again xD) |

| Hearing Vincent's response to his own words, Dominic gave a light shrug of his shoulders glancing over at Corrine who was still curious as to what exactly the two were going on about. Though that clearly changed when the conversation returned of who would be kicking whos ass. Corrine clearly hadn't backed down and was even up for another bet at that point. By that point the bell finally dimissed them all from lunch. Hand in hand Corrine fell in step next to Dominic as he walked her to class. Two more long ass periods, but somehow her day didn't seem to end on a bad note. ----- "Cor, hey dude." Dominic's sudden nudge at her side made the girl sit up in her desk, a tired look plastered on her face from the nap she had taken in her their last class. Pushing back her bangs out of her face, she rose to her feet while extending her arms out to get Dominic to carry her on his back. "Please..." The girl said flashing one of her smiles. Shaking his head in a humorous manner, he held her up on his back while exiting the classroom to head up to meet with both Summer and Vincent. Though the conversation hadn't much lasted because the two were already readying to leave. "Well you'd have A's if you were in my classes!" Corrine mused, bidding her farewell to Vincent. Resting her chin on Dominic's shoulder, "Off to find my mom!" the girl pointed towards the school's front doors, "Laters Summer." the dark haired girl said. ------ Standing out amongst the crowds of students leaving, Corrine constantly paced around peeking around to see any sight of her mother's car. "Where is she...." She sighed. "I bet she forgot you." Dominic teased wrapping his arms around her. Sticking her tongue out at him she smiled. Her expression quickly changed upon hearing the sound of a car's tires squeel against the street then all seemed to slow down. Her eyes traveled over towards the scene, seeing Summer run into full panic towards a limp body on the road. "Oh my god...dom its vince.." Corrine said, feeling the words catch in her throat. Pulling the boy along, Corrine slipped past people and cars to reach the scene seeing Summer kneel down next to Vincent's body. Tears spilled from her eyes, and she was forced to look away as Dominic called up 911. Getting an ambulance there sure as hell felt like it took along time. Corrine couldn't stop crying, her heart beating with faster with each passing second. By the time the paramedics had shown up Corrine immediately asked if she could come along but they were quick to ask what she was to him. "We're his friends!" Dominic said for her, seeing the girl was still crying. The paramedics shook their head, "we can't have too many people in the ambulance." one said as they lifted Vincent into the ambulance on a stretcher while immediately starting up an IV on him.
