"Uh...thanks," Zackie replied, pulling away lightly from John's grasp. Honestly, it was a little creepy; he was their manager. And older too. Not a lot older, but enough. He opened his guitar case, brought along with the rest of the equipment earlier that day, and slung the strap over his shoulder. Snapping the case shut, he stood and opened the door to the sound-proof room Krystal was standing in. Usually bands recorded each instrument separately, but the producer wanted to capture the rawness of their music; it was amazing live, so why not try and incorporate that sound onto their record? If the idea failed, they could always record separately. It wasn't a big deal to Zackie.
He stummed a few notes, warming his fingers up as they waited for Susan. God, was it like her to be super late to everything. Concerts, even their own, were a good thirty minutes late. The people who booked them hated it, but when the crowd went crazy at the end, they'd realize the wait was worth it.
The door slammed open and Susan sauntered inside, her sunglasses perched on top of her unruly black hair. "Sup," she stated. It wasn't a question, and she didn't explain her lateness. She simply acted as though she had been on time. Surely, she'd get the same lecture from John and the storm would pass. They knew she was the late type anyway. Susan grabbed her bass, black, riddled with band stickers, and entered the room. "Hey babe," she waved, flirty smile at her "boyfriend". She didn't love him. Never did. Thought he was cute at first. But then he became...needy. And clingy. Susan hated clingy guys.
"Looking hot, Krys," she winked and grinned. She made those remarks a lot, and everyone passed them off as a joke; she was funny and spontaneous in the eyes of the band members. But in reality, she meant every flirty word she ever spoke to Krystal. And she was totally hot that day. And god, did Susan love that lightning blue hair. It really did look perfect on her, even though some people didn't like it as much as she did. With a cocky grin, she exclaimed, "Let's rock this shit!"_________________ Recent Movies: Up ; What Happens In Vegas ; The Road To El Dorado ; The Haunting In Connecticut ; Donnie Darko (yes, again xD) |

| "Zackie! Just the man I wanted to see," Exclaimed John when the boy just got through the room. He could tell by his hurried attitude that he did not want to be here right now, but John would change that. Zackie was so mysterious in that way. He pretended to hate what he loved, because obviously he loved playing guitar and being in a band - he was so good at it! And he looked so hot onstage. John licked his lips as he thought about it, placing his hands on Zackie's shoulders, which were so perfectly shaped. He stood up on his toes a bit to whisper in Zackie's ear, taking a moment to take in his scent. "Listen, don't tell anyone else but I want to hear more from you baby, just you. Try to kick it up a notch because you're the star."Krystal continued to stand at the microphone, holding it between her hands expertly as she waited to begin. She loved her band and recording was her favorite thing to do. It was the only time, other then when they played live that they all got to kick out their skills to the max. Their band was rocking and she knew that they sounded awesome when they were all in the groove together. She licked her lips and tossed some of her blue hair back over her shoulder and then eyed John with a stare that could kill on sight. John was obviously crushing on Zackie. Everyone knew that he was gay as gay could be, which was one of the reasons why Krystal tried to get him hired - he wasn't going to hit on anyone in the band. Screw that option, now he was going after Zackie, her Zackie? Uh uh, no way was that happening. She placed her hands around the microphone and started to speak into it. "Can we start sometime soon?""Cool it, Krys, Susan's not here yet," Duke called across the room in a soft tone. He had to watch the way that he spoke to Krystal even though she was a bitch. Amber was his best friend since...god knows when and she would be pissed beyond belief if he acted like a dick to her even though sometimes he really wanted to. Duke sighed as he climbed into his seat behind the drum set and took a look at the watch that he always wore. Susan was really late. She was usually late, but not this late, what was getting into her lately? She rarely returned his phone calls and they hadn't gone out somewhere for like....5 days. Things were killing him. He loved Susan. |

"Shit...!" Susan had just taken a glance at the clock to notice that she was thirty minutes late to the band's recording session. In her moment of surprise, she'd dropped her just-lit cigarette. Into a puddle. "...shit," she mumbled, kicking the ground. Whatever. She knew that she could get a new one later. It was a bad habit to start anyway. Fortunately she hadn't gotten addicted yet. Good thing too, she was addicted to enough shit as it was. She tossed the near-empty pack into a trash can on the way to her car. Revving the engine, she put the car into drive and sped down the street towards the recording label's building.
At least she'd get to see Krystal, or ahem, Amber. In all honesty, Susan liked "Krystal" better. But only because she was much more kickass that way, and Susan liked them tough. She licked her lips and stretched them into a smile. And boy, was Krystal delicious. Of course, she'd have to leave her current boyfriend. But if Krystal turned out Lesbian, Susan would dump his ass any day.
She screeched to a stop by the curb and parked, tossing the keys to the valet. Fancy place. Susan sauntered inside, pushing her sunglasses to the top of her head, giving the male receptionist a sultry smile. She had what every guy wanted and what every girl dreamed of having. A gorgeous face, perfect body, hot boyfriend. And the hottest new band on the planet. What more could a girl want? Something, or someone, she didn't already have tied around her pinkie finger, of course. And for Susan, it was Krystal. She'd had a thing for the girl since she'd shown up with bright blue hair and a controlling attitude. Susan's type of girl. Somehow, her boyfriend Duke didn't quite fill the lustful gap. He wasn't...female.
Zackie shoved the door to the recording room open with a loud thump, nearly smacking his gay manager. He pushed past, trying to ignore the obvious lustful stare in his manager's eyes. Sure, Zackie was gay, but not desperate. And totally not about to go for his manager. No way. He had better plans. Including Amber's hot boyfriend, Nathan.
He sat down in a chair across the small room from where Krystal stood, crossing one leg over the other casually and his arms across his chest. There was nothing wrong with Krystal. She had the rockstar attitude, got what she wanted, when she wanted. Amber was too kind...and well, dating Nathan. If she wasn't dating him, maybe it'd be different. But she was. so it wasn't. And Zackie had no choice but to hate her for it.
He looked around, noticing everyone there but Susan. Of course, she'd be the late one. Not that he wasn't, but at least he wasn't almost an hour late. And the last at that. A sigh escaped his lips as he tilted his head back slightly and closed his eyes against the bright ceiling lights.
[I figure Nathan can show up a little later, since he's not recording with the band ]_________________ Recent Movies: Up ; What Happens In Vegas ; The Road To El Dorado ; The Haunting In Connecticut ; Donnie Darko (yes, again xD) |

| "Come on, would you shut up and just do it already?" Came the voice of the well known singer Krystal Everdale blasting over the microphone through the studio at a volume that was obviously much too loud. It was going to be their first rehearsal of the songs off of the new album they just finished. All they had to do now was get it recorded to where it was sounding good, make a few music videos and then release it out into the hands of the willing public.
People loved to hear their music, and she had been risen as a sort of hero and role model to young girls all over. She didn't dress up and play pretty like a lot of women that young girls saw now-a-days. She just kicked back being an average girl with a personality and the press just loved it. They followed her around all day long looking to grab shots of her doing almost anything. Little did they know that she was hiding her true identity, a senior in a normal high school with a normal boyfriend and trying to graduate...normally.
She tapped her foot impatiently as she glared over in the corner at the hunched back of the man who was playing with the wires. To the band, she wasn't the same thing as she was in her everyday life and sometimes it was hard to keep the two roles separate. To the band, Krystal Everdale was a pusher. She called all the shots and was usually seen as a cranky bitch, but why then did most of the people in the band like her more than they liked her real, sweet, fun-loving self Amber? Oh, it was frustrating.
Duke snarled over his shoulder at their lead singer, and his best friend as he tampered with the mechanics of things. He had accidentally used the wrong amp when plugging in the equipment. He knew how expensive all of this stuff was and even though most people only saw him as the man behind the large drum set, he had a lot of brains. He refused to allow their manager John to hire an equipment manager when he could handle the stuff better than anyone else.
Still, it was hard to concentrate with Amber - Krystal yelling at him over his back. He grumbled to himself as he unplugged all of the wires and replaced them back into their original jacks. He hated how Amber switched personalities when she was with the band. He understood why she had created her other identity seeing as how life was hard enough for him since he was in two bands - but why create a whole other personality? He sighed and slipped his fingers through his hair as he stood up from the amps and gave Krystal the thumbs up.
John knew that Krystal was just about to start when he opened the door and walked in, ruining the moment. Who cared? Not him. He knew that they were going to get paid big time and he had noticed something that the two in the room didn't. They were missing half of their band. He frowned lightly as he glanced about the room. Krystal was there and so was Duke, but where was everyone else? Specifically their guitarist, Zackie. As far as John was concerned, Zackie was their star man and should be put on high, not Krystal. She was a superficial bitch who dyed her hair blue to get the fans to love her. Zackie had real talent.
"Where is everyone?" He asked as he clapped his hands to get their attention, the pants of his nice, slick suit displaying his long legs. He always dressed in style. It was hard not to when you were as gay as John. He had the inflection, he had the look, and he even had the attitude. |
