Strapping down the the seat belt across her chest, she sunk back into the seat and relaxed while her eyes traveled outside the window. A smile touched her lips once more at his words, "Interesting.....doubt it..." She stuck her tongue out at him playfully.

"Oh the house is just a few streets down from here, I believe on Mason road." She explained, recalling the Johnson household. Just thinking about those kids was exhausting, considering how energetic that little boy and girl could be. Frowning lightly she sighed, "This is going to be a long afternoon...." She muttered, crossing her arms while watching houses go by as they drove. Her thoughts soon drew away from the children she was babysitting and now settled on Ryan's words.

Lifting her head in his direction, Carmine found herself rather close once more. Her stomach stirred, a fluttering feeling building within. His words became low and soft, Carmine though found it hard to listen at that point. Instead she was too preoccupied with the distance that remained between them. Closing her eyes, she laughed gently. "I'm glad you care...." She said, moving her face slightly closer, but not closing off all the distance. "Your pretty tempting you know..." She grinned lightly, her lips so close to his own but then suddenly she pulled back from him.

Ooc: lol I can't say i've seen true blood that much, so maybe you can just fill me in on what a Maenad is Very Happy

A laugh escaped Ryan's throat as he followed her out towards the car. It was still where he parked it a few houses down but the rain had stopped somewhat which allowed an easier walk for the two of them. "You call yourself uninteresting?! You don’t know just how wrong you are Carmine. To me you are the most interesting person on the planet…” He slid into the drivers seat of the shiny Mercedes while a small smile played on his lips, the engine roared to life and Ryan was happy to oblige to Carmine on keeping the car at a respectable speed if it meant a few more minutes with her.

Reaching over to the console in the middle he turned a knob to the right causing a jet of hot air to shoot out of a vent on the dashboard, it was cold in the car and Ryan didn’t want Carmine to be uncomfortable. Ryan took the unlit cigarette from his mouth that he had taken out before and stashed it on the dashboard to smoke after he dropped off Carmine. Taking the road at a crawl of thirty-five miles per hour he began to make his way towards the house that Carmine had instructed him on going to.

“Well you were asking if I meant what I said before… about me wanting to protect you…” Ryan turned to face Carmine as he spoke and the next words came out almost inaudibly because of the whisper he was now using. “The truth is… I will always do everything in my power to make sure your safe… No matter what…” He was leaning forward slightly as he answered her and only about a foot of space lay between his face and hers which he could cover in less than a second.

(Hmmmm, I don’t want to be too generic with this XD something strange… I don’t know ^^ I’m totally thinking like “True Blood” a Maenad or something but nothing is coming to mind)

Of course the idea of Josh giving her a ride over there had entered her mind, but how could she pass up the chance to spend just a little bit more time with Ryan. And although she really hated to admit it, Carmine found herself growing deeply attached to the boy in ways she hadn't really imagined to begin with. "New car?" Carmine's lips curved into an eager smile, compared to before when she felt slightly nervous when sitting in the car with him.

Following him out of the room, Carmine stepped down along the stairs only to make a turn towards the laundry room to pick up Ryan's now dry clothes. Once she had them in posession, she returned to the entrance of her home to hand them back to Ryan. Her heart skipped a beat as the distance between them was closed off for a mere second, his lips closed in on her ear once more. "Deal." Carmine easily responded as he moved away from her. Her head turned back in Josh's direction, "All right." He said to his little sister. Carmine bid her brother a goodbye before opening the door and exiting with Ryan.

The brunette trailed along side him off towards his car just down a little way from her home. "I don't see what kind of questions you'd have to ask me." Carmine said, glancing towards Ryan as she approached the passenger side of the car. Opening the door she slid in, "I'm a very uninteresting person." She joked, "Oh and this time, slow down on the driving ok?"

Ooc: See i don't know lol, I was going to say vampires who come into town but that sounded too typical, so I was going to leave it up to you really. Or we could have werewolves too.

It took Ryan by surprise as she asked him if he really meant it. Of course he did, he would never say something like that to her without meaning it but could he tell her that without making her think he was a strange guy who was obsessed with her? His mind was racing for an answer to her question and he thought he had one when all of a sudden a knock at the door silenced his attempt to tell her somewhat how he felt.

“I told you that I was testing out my new car didn’t I?” Ryan grinned slightly as he spoke but really wished he had a chance to tell her what he wanted to. With a quick nod of his head towards the door he motioned for her to follow him out so that they could get ready to leave. “I’ll just grab my clothes and then we can head out to drop you off, I should be getting home soon anyway so it’s no problem.”

In truth Ryan wanted to get her away from Josh, although he appreciated his constant vigilance on watching over Carmine it got quite annoying when he was protecting her from Ryan himself. Making his way down the stairs he slipped a cigarette out of the box and stuck it between his lips to stay there until he got outside.

“Your going to have to tell me where to go though Carmine because I don’t really know where I’m going.” He leaned in and whispered in her ear as he took the clothes that were now dry from her. “I’ll answer your question from before but after we leave and only if you promise to answer a few of mine.” Ryan grinned slightly before pulling away when Josh entered. “I’ll get her there safe and sound, no need to worry about her tonight.”

(Well for conflicts I'm not too sure XD We could do anything really, vampires come into the town, werewolves, other mythical creatures that are out there? XD Do you have any idea's?)

Her eyes settled on him, that heart-melting smile touching his lips once more. Her own lips held a gentle smile as she leaned her weight against the doorway. His words were true, but Carmine failed to accept them. She knew deep down Josh would continue to be the overprotective brother he was, and there wasn't much she could do about it. "Once he gets to know you, things won't be so...well like now." Carmine said, while taking in his last statement. Did he truly care that much for her? Was there even something between them? Carmine had questions roam her mind, but no answer came even after searching for some.

The girl noticed Ryan avert his gaze towards her desk where some textbooks rested on. Her own grey colored eyes strayed towards her feet, deeply thinking for a moment. Ryan's voice filled her ears once more, and her head rose in his direction. A giggle escaped her lips and her eyes met with his, "Well thank you." Carmine said, linking her arms behind her back as she straightened and stepped over to the window. "Did you really mean that? I mean a moment ago when you said you would protect me?" Carmine asked, having her back facing him. "Do you really care that much? You don't have to answer if you don't want to..." Carmine added, closing her eyes. What would he say? Why had she even asked. Now I feel so stupid... she mentally scolded herself for even bringing up the topic.

A knock was heard on the open door of her room, Josh leaned against it once he entered. "Hey don't forget your suppose to babysit the Johnsons kids today." He informed her, "In about an twenty minutes Mrs. Johnson wants you over there." Josh said, bringing up his arm to glance at his watch. Carmine turned towards him, "Right, I almost forgot." She said and looked to Ryan, "Hey would you mind giving me a ride? Or how exactly did you get here anyway?" Carmine asked Ryan.

With a small smile he handed over his clothes to Carmine for her to put them in the dryer, he grabbed the pack of cigarette’s out of the pocket though before she took them. “Thanks, now I won’t have to steal your brothers clothes when I leave.” Ryan saw a flash of eagerness on Josh’s face when he said the word leave but it would have to wait until Ryan’s clothes were dry at least.

As both males stood there in the room, silent and watching each other, the small puppy had made a game of running between the two and lightly biting on their pants before running to the other. The look on Josh’s face was one of menace and intimidation while Ryan tried to smile pleasantly at the overprotective brother. “I appreciate you accepting me into your house and letting me borrow your clothes, it’s really quite generous of you as a person…” The attempt at small talk failed horribly but Ryan was going to try again when Carmine re-entered the room and took his arm in hers causing his eye’s to widen slightly.

Allowing Carmine to pull him towards the stairs and up to her room he heard Josh shout up after them to keep the door open. Ryan looked around the room and tried to take in all in features, it was the first time he had seen it and he could smell Carmine’s scent everywhere. Turning back to face her he let his mouth curve upwards into a small smile as his head shook from side to side slowly. “You don’t understand Carmine... You will never have complete independence…ever. Josh loves you too much to not try to protect you, and I honestly don’t blame him. I mean, I would try my hardest to protect you from everything out there in the world…”

As the words made it out of his mouth he pretended to be interested in a few textbooks on her desk so she couldn’t look him in the face. It was a bit strange to be saying those things to her when he wasn’t sure what he was to her exactly but it was all true, Ryan would and planned on protecting her from everything. “Did you know… you smell really nice?” Ryan smiled and stared up at her as he asked the random question.

(lol it was much better than mine. I made german chocolate cake today!!! hehe it's yummy)

After allowing him to check over the damage the dog had done, Carmine lowered the leg of her pants back down over her ankle and rose to her full height to once again face him. Of course being this close to him it became more difficult to keep her thoughts straight, further yet draw her eyes away from his muscular build. Though this definately didn't go unnoticed by Ryan, who clearly came to realize she was indeed staring.

Blinking a few times, she rolled her eyes before a gentle grin touched her lips. "Yes because apparently your so irresistable." She said, feeling a warm tone of red play across her face. "Anyways I believe I have someone to attend to." Carmine took the oppurtunity to slip past Ryan and exit the room, only to close the door behind her. At that point in time, Josh was a few steps up the stairway and a look of clear annoyance filled his masculine features. Lowering herself down the steps, she passed him. "Don't start." Carmine said, but Josh had placed an arm down on the rail to keep her from going further, "You know very well I don't accept you being alone upstairs with a guy." Josh said, staring firmly into her own gray eyes. Sliding under his arm she reached the bottom, "You just have to trust me." She said, but the argument only pursued until Ryan had returned moments later.

"I'll put those in the dryer for you." Carmine offered, taking the soaking clothing from his posession. Disappearing off into the laundry room across the kitchen, she left him and Josh there. Josh remained silent, settling that stern gaze upon Ryan. The tension set off by the male didn't change as Carmine returned. "Jeeze you don't have to stare him down." Carmine frowned, stepping over to Ryan to link her arm with his. "Come on." She pulled him on back up the stairs towards her room, simply knowing that it would bother Josh. Her brother's last words were, "Don't you dare close that door!"

Laughing she leaned against the wall within her room, before glancing up at Ryan. "I know I shouldn't push him too far, but he'll understand that I need my independance. I don't need everyone watching over me." She said to him

As Carmine pulled up the leg of her pants to show Ryan the scratches he kneeled down to get a closer look. It didn’t look too deep and thankfully the bite didn’t break through her skin or else Ryan would have to leave to protect both people in the house. “You don’t need to apologize Carmine… just try not to look so appetizing all the time.” He grinned up at her and took the clothes before standing up and watching her eye’s roam over his body.

“So are you just going to stand there and undress me with your eye’s or wait until I really start to change?” Ryan laughed slightly as he teased her, in the honest truth Ryan didn’t mind the way she was staring at him at all but relished in the possibility that she might actually feel some sort of attraction towards him. For a few moments he stood there staring down into her eye’s with his golden honey one’s, he could hear someone walking towards the base of the stairs slowly and assumed it was Josh sneaking over to see what was taking so long. “I should get dressed now…”

Ryan watched as Carmine walked out of the room and close the door behind her before he slipped out of his wet jeans. It was by sheer luck that his boxers were dry enough to keep on and he slipped into Josh’s clothes which fit him quite nicely. Ryan grabbed his wet clothes and walked downstairs holding them in a small bundle. “So is there somewhere I can put these for now?” A small smile flittered onto his face and he looked from Josh to Carmine every few seconds.

Even if he hadn't accepted the offer, Carmine needed to find someway to pull the two apart. For one, Josh wasn't being very pleasant at the moment but she knew it was always like this when she first brought a boy home. "Its no problem really." Carmine said with a light nod of her head. Leading him out of the living room she trailed back up the stairs towards the room on the far right. Opening the door, she stepped into the mess of a room Josh possessed but really she couldn't complain considering her own was almost exactly the same.

"Well considering my board is currently split in two, then yes it would be out of the question." Carmine returned to his own statement, the sound of her board breaking still playing within her mind. Shuffling through the closet and drawers, she pulled out several different articles of clothing before turning back to face Ryan. His next question bringing an amused look upon her features, "Of course he does." Carmine said, chuckling as she handed him the clothes. For a moment she found herself staring at him once again, taking in every feature she could. Then there was that urge, the urge to reach out and touch him, but of course she never went through with the action. Instead she snapped out of those thoughts and focused on Ryan's concern towards her ankle.

"Right, I don't think its too bad." Carmine began, kneeling down to roll up her jean so her ankle would show. The canine's teeth didn't break through the skin, but they had managed to scrape themselves along the flesh roughly enough to leave scratch marks and a newly formed bruise. "I'm actually pretty lucky you showed up.....I apologize for not thanking you earlier." She said.. "You should probably go change." Carmine sugguested. She knew though if she remained up there too long, that Josh was probably going to start some kind of argument about the situation.

Watching Carmine rise to her feet and offer Ryan a dry set of clothes he could nothing but have to accept. If he refused then it would look strange seeing as how his clothes were literally soaking wet right now. “Well I really wouldn’t like to impose on you but if you insist then I guess I will accept the offer.” He smiled and followed Carmine out of the living room and leaving behind a suspicious brother and a little puppy whining to be held by Josh.

“Well skateboarding is pretty much out from now on isn’t it?” Ryan walked up next to Carmine and grinned slightly as he spoke in a teasing tone. He grabbed the wet shirt he was wearing by the bottom hem and pulled it up over his head, the fabric clung to him slightly as he draped it over his shoulder. “So I think your brother likes me, what do you think?” Ryan grinned slightly and waited by the door as Carmine entered Josh’s room to grab the clothes.

Droplets of water ran down Ryan’s chest and fell to the ground as he watched her gathering up clothes for him to wear. “Is your ankle hurting at all? I’m not too sure if the dog did actually get you or not…” Ryan stepped into the room and motioned for her to show him her ankle so he could check but he saw that she didn’t want to have him bothering over any injuries she might have sustained. “Don’t be afraid, it’s not like I’ll bite or anything.”

Sinking down into the soft cushions of the couch, Carmine crossed her legs as she maneuvered her hands around the floor beneath the couch to pull up the remote of the television. Moments later she found her older brother plant himself in the seat next to her, making sure to extend himself out pretty well at that point in time. Of course she wanted to scold him, but refrained from it knowing it be pointless to fight with him when Ryan was here.

Her gaze traveled back to Ryan who entered the living room, insisting he just stand as to not wet the furniture. Raizen's head rose slightly, licking at Ryan's hand as he pet him. Carmine smiled lightly, "Well if you want to change out of those clothes, I'm sure you wouldn't mind lending him some Josh?" She tilt her head in her brother's direction, who wasn't to happy with the idea but gave a shrug, "Yeah, its fine with me....go ahead." Josh said. Carmine rose to her feet, wondering if Ryan would accept the offer or not. "I don't want you getting sick either." She said, seeing Ryan was still pretty soaked. "And nope, usually I'm out skate boarding for something else but since its raining we'll just sit in and play some xbox or something." The girl added, "What exactly would you expect to do for fun in a town like this?" She asked rhetorically, a smirk grazing her own lips.

Light flooded out of the door as it was opened again and Ryan smiled as he was invited in by Josh, he took a step into the house he had been in earlier and looked around pretending that it was new to him. Something told Ryan that if Josh knew he had been here alone with Carmine earlier than he wouldn’t be too pleased, and that was a serious understatement in Ryan’s opinion. Droplets of water cascaded down from Ryan’s hair and landed on the rug beneath his feet with a soft patter, he was listening as Josh asserted his dominance and laid down the laws of the house when Carmine came downstairs which put a smile on Ryan’s face.

As the towel was passed to him he saw a flicker of annoyance flash over Josh’s face as Carmine told Ryan to ignore him. Ryan brought the towel up to his face to wipe away the water from it, as he pressed the soft fabric against his cold skin he noticed that it had an unbelievably strong scent of Carmine coming off of it. He reveled in the sweet scent coming off of the towel for a few seconds before bringing it up to his hair to dry it off. After Ryan’s hair was dry he made his way over to where Carmine was sitting and he found it amusing that Josh had made a point to take up the rest of the length of the couch so that Ryan wouldn’t be able to sit next to her.

“I’ll stand so I don’t get your furniture wet, sad to say I didn’t expect to get caught in the rain like that and didn’t bring extra clothes to change into.” He smiled kindly at Carmine before kneeling down slightly to run a hand over Raizen’s head slowly. “So what is it you guys do for fun, or is this it?” He smirked up at Carmine as he teased her, being in her house was like being surrounded by a hundred of her due to Ryan registering her scent better than all the others. This wasn’t a bad thing at all though seeing as how Ryan would gladly give up his life of eternity to be in a room with only one Carmine for only one day.

(Yeah they are ^^ but I prefer the little M&M form of them, same taste but it lasts longer XD)
