Syn scoured across a plain of high grasses that shape of needles, ruffled through a field of bushes, and jumped through several tree branches, only to discover he was still ten miles away from his destination. Not even the meals he had prior to this adventure could keep him satiated and fresh enough to continue this without some sort of....rest. Syn came across a cabin at the middle of a forest. Its lights were on, hinting at the presence of someone inside. He stopped and approached it.

"No."

"What?"

"I'm well, in sync with your thoughts, Syn. No."

"Listen, I don't feel like sleeping outside tonight. There is a cabin right there. It's not gonna' kill them for a stranger to sleep there for one night."

"You're a stubborn piece of work, you know that?"

Syn ignored the comment and approached the cabin, knocking on the surface of the main door. An old man came to open the door.

"Hi, can I help you?" the old man asked.

"Yes you can. I need a place to sleep tonight. I'm traveling and I'm in dire need of some time to recover. Is it alright if I stay with you?"

The old man thought, contemplation scribbled on his countenance, before hhe gave in to his hospitality and stepped aside. Syn entered.

"What's your name, son?" he asked after shutting the door.

"Syn."

The man's face took an unpleasant turn.

"Seriously?"

Syn nodded.

"Is that a codename? A nickname?"

"No. It's my real name."

"I really...I really don't feel comfortable with someone in my house having that name."

"Why not?"

"Are you kidding me?"

"No."

"Your name is synonymous with pure evil on this planet. It is best fr you to evacuate."

"Please, get out." The old man suggested.

"I'm afraid I can't do that. I'm spending the night, end of discussion."

Syn retrieved his sword from his sheathe and waved it in front of the old man. A dark flash emitted from the blade, striking the old man. The man fell face first. Syn sheathed his sword.

"You incapacitated him?!"

"Only for a simple two days. Now, I think I'm gonna' go raid that...that place where they store their foods?"

"It is called a refrigerator. And this is unethical on so many levels."

"Yeah, well, survival of the fittest."

Syn searched for the kitchen, opened the fridge, and began to forage for food to quell his appetite.

Melkior realized he was hungry. He sat down, crossing his legs and closing his eyes. From the earth he could feel the uncomfortable movements of the humans behind him, as well as other small animals in the distance. "Do not leave." He said, without opening his eyes."I will be done shortly." Melkior inhaled through his nose, catching the fragrance of this planet and it's inhabitants. As he breathed, he felt the energy of Earth, he felt the magma beneath it's crust and the salt in it's seas. He felt the fury of it's mountain winds, and the cold silence of it's caves.
Melkior opened his mouth, tasting the planet's rich air as he breathed. He was in a state of ecstasy, feeling all of these sensations at once. "Magnificent"

Syn, after maneuvering with such speed, had ended up in a city abundant with landscapes that seemed to tower the skies. He stopped in the middle of it, sweat dribbling past his skin, soaking his attire. The clothes he wore had already made it difficult to function in these humid conditions. It became clear that Syn would've surrendered to his fatigue if he resumed at his current pace. He searched about the area, walking, its citizens taking quick, snippet glances at him. Their clothes were so....thin? Fragile? Soft? They didn't seem ready to confront any surprise attacks that threatened them from the stars. This was obviously a very vulnerable, very simple planet to conquer. If Melkior did, indeed, chose Earth as his next target, Syn didn't expect him to have any trouble at all.

Syn grabbed the arm of a man who was walking past him.

"Hey!" the man yelled, alarm.

"I don't want any trouble. I was just wondering, where's your replenishment facility?"

Syn wasn't sure if he used the correct English.

"What the hell are you talkin' about?"

"The..."

"Just ask him for food."

"Food. Where's your food?"

"Food? They're all around the place. There's a buffet right down the block. Ched's dinning, you can't miss it. Want me to take you?"

"If you may please"

The man led him to this Ched's dinning. Syn was a bit shocked at the politeness they displayed. He didn't know why he always saw human beings as hostile creatures.

"Man, what's with the get up?"

"Get....up?"

"Don't worry about it. But thanks for your help."

"No problem, guy."

Syn entered the buffet, packed with people shoving their faces in with these...substances. The smell, though new and foreign, was delectable. He could practically taste it as the scent so thickly traversed in the air, calling to him. Syn couldn't wait. He followed the smell and saw a line of different foods, all of which he had never seen before. With his bottomless stomach growling, he started to snatch each and every meal he could get his hands on.

"Syn, what the hell are you doing/ Wait?

Syn couldn't, and didn't want to listen. He just wanted to stuff his face in with as much of these meals as possible. It made love to his taste buds, rippling.

"Syn, like any other galaxy you need to pay in order to obtain certain things. Food, on Earth, being one of them."

"What?!"

Syn surveyed the area and saw practically the entire restaurant staring at him, appalled. Some of them were crying. Syn, slowly, backed out of the restaurant.

"You fool."

"Hey, I regret nothing. I am full, I am nourished, I'm ready."

Syn, with ground teeth, sprinted his way down the city, following the instructions of the compass.

Melkior didn't wait for the reply, but turned around, surveying the landscape about him. He noticed every blade of grass, every tree, every rock that could encompass his field of vision. He missed nothing.

"Beautiful."

"What the hell?"

The transaction happened so fast Syn could've blinked and he would've missed it. Syn's target, Melkior, and his (accomplice? Servant woman?) seemed to have dissolved. There was no trace of their existence, no hint as to their new location. The compass was still active but distorted, confused. Whatever technique Melkior used must've impaired the device's effects.

"Calm yourself."

"He spotted us!"

"Then we will just have to continue the search."

Syn looked down at the compass, examining its function. It still showed a direction, still had all the characteristics that made it useful, yet the signal was faint. The yellow dot which should've been Melkior was obscured. The sight could only be described as looking similar to an eclipsed sun. A sigh of frustration left Syn's mouth, tormented by the creature's own apparent elusiveness.

"I had him."

Syn teethed and wasted no time. Inhaling the air around him, he trailed Melkior, pushing his already aching legs to its limit, with only his anger fueling him.

"You sure you wouldn't like to rest."

"I'm fine."

Syn would rest when he had peace of mind, and that was only obtainable with the restoration of his parents...and his people.

"Di....no....saur...?" Melkior slowly said the word, letting it sink in. He took a minute to process this information, then turned to the woman.

"How long has it been since these....dinosaurs were alive?"

When he heard her reply, Melkior slowly shook his head. "Impossible. Earth is a planet full of large carnivorous reptiles. You must be mistaken."

"An unholy being. One who has no regard for the lives of other species and who aims to conquer all life. I purified it's planet some time ago, but I suppose he seeks revenge now....." As he spoke, Melkior stooped down to observe the plants and small insects. After straightening up again, he turned to the woman, his brow wrinkled with confusion. "Tell me sister, what planet am I on?"

Melkior blinked. She had suddenly become upset and grabbed his arm. Regardless, he did not falter for a second. The shifting stopped, revealing both he and the others to be in a vast savannah, with tall grass as far as the eye culd see. Melkior, ignoring the cries of surprise and confusion that the other creatures were in turned his attention to the woman. "Sister, did you think I would harm them? Forgive me If i was......unclear of my intentions, I just wished to relocate us to a safer location. Do you......not wish to be here?"
