Niklas was practically a prisoner in his own body. The man was like a damn machine that could not be turned off. At times it was irritating, but could not be helped.”Poor….poor Niklas….” Miyu said ver softly to herself as she walked away. Miyu looked in the general direction where Niklas had just been looking. “Hmm?” At first she did not notice the little imperfection in the sleeve of his suit. It always took Miyu a little longer to notice tiny details. “Oh….” She knew that Niklas could not walk around in scrubs for the rest of his life. Repairing the suit would only take Miyu a few minutes. The problem was he would probably tell her no or play it off like it was alright. Even if it was alright Miyu would feel bad. It was her fault that the suit ripped.

“Where did father hide it?” She said out loud as she disappeared in to the back section of the bunker. The entire time she could feel Niklas watching her like a hawk. He was probably wondering what the hell she was up too. “Found it!” Miyu said victoriously as she returned with a basic kit. “The least I can do is patch the rip up. I will not take no for an answer.” Miyu held the different spools up to the suit up one at a time to try to match the color up. “Here we go. Now for the hard part.” The hard part was getting the thread through the eye of the needle. That was Miyu’s least favorite part of sewing. She dabbed the end of the string on the tip of her tongue, Twisted it, then very slowly pushed it through the eye of the needle. A smile crossed her dawn tinted lips as the finished preparing the needle and thread. “Hmmmm to I use a cross stitch or a……..” Miyu bit her bottom lip nervously as she tried to determine which technique to use to repair his suit. “It’s dark so it really does not matter…..but I want him to be happy about my work.”

Miyu used a skip stitch technique to complete the job. It probably would have been easier to purchase Niklas a new suit rather than repair it. But they could not simply walk in to a shop and purchase one without getting noticed. “There you go Niklas….good as new.” She was so proud of herself. Miyu hung the suit up, returned the sewing kit back to its rightful place and sat down in the center of the cot across the room from Niklas. “I know you are just dying to talk up a storm with me Niklas….but I’m beat. It will have to wait *yawn* until morning.” Her arms stretched out and she lay down. Miyu laughed at her own dumb joke and closed her eyes. Since Niklas could not laugh or show anyother type of emotion she would do it for him. “Good night Niklas. I will take you to see Saya in the morning. I am sure she will be happy to meet you.” Miyu could vaguely remember visiting the catacombs when she was younger. Her memories from her childhood were fuzzy. Though she repeatedly had an odd dream of two women clashing swords and always trying to kill each other.

-Later that night-
A single eye popped open and looked over at Niklas. He seemed so peaceful. "What time is it?" Miyu could not tell the time since there were no windows in the bunker. Her stomach growled loudly, "Uuuugh!" All Miyu wanted to do was go back to sleep, but hr stomach disagreed with her. "Am I suppose to eat normal food or blood?" The thought of feeding on blood made her feel ill.

Niklas nodded to Miyu then he slowly began changing back to his original state quickly getting the scrubs back on his body then he looked at the suit that was hanging up and seeing teh torn sleeve from when he nearly lost himself, "Now you understand why I must keep to life where I cannot show my emotions. I lose my focus and I become that out of my own control." He said to Miyu, "Now rest my queen. I will keep guard over this place so you can rest peacefully." He said to her then he knelt down next to his blade closing his eyes not for sleep but so that he could use his other senses to be able to track what was happening outside of the bunker, "There was no shame in fearing my true form. There were times that I was afraid of myself, but I leaned to be used to that form.

The last thing Miyu expected him to do was to agree to showing her his true form. When he began to remove his clothes she looked away. Miyu naturall was very shy and was in no way interested in looking at him in the nude. The only way she woud look at him in the nude was it they were "doing it". Knowing Niklas the chances of doing that was slim to none. He had straight out told her that in no way or form was he interested in doing anything with her. Miyu was a little disappointed but could not complain. He was her guardian and nothing else.

As his body changed she continued to look away from him. Even the thought of him in his other form frightened her. ".......". When he talked she closed her eyes tightly. Even his soothing voice had changed. "I am sorry....I am so very sorry...". She said before she opened her eyes and met his gaze. A normal person would have pissed themselves out of fear of the sight of Niklas.

Miyu nodded and said, "yes...I have never been so scared in my life.". While Miyu spoke to him she never looked away. Tears filled her eyes. She was not crying because she was scared she was crying because she felt bad for him. His eyes were just like her father's. They were the eyes of someone who had never known love, kindness,or compassion. Miyu approached him. Raising her hands she placed them on his face. Miyu turned his face to the left then to the right. No words could describe how bad she felt. Her hands dropped and she backed away. "Thank you....thank you for showing me your true self." If Miyu was going to trust Niklas she needed to know everything about him. "That will be all. I think I shall go to bed now."

Niklas nodded to her then he closed his eyes, "As you wish my queen, but in order to keep the clothes i have on, i have to remove them." He said to her before he removed his shirt, and thankfully he had boxers on when he had to remove his pant. He then started changing. His skin color changed from a pale color to a deep purple-red color and then his body began to grown. His arms were the first to mutate growing so that they both grew to king kongish proportions forming what looked like shield in his forearms and razor sharp claws short from his finger tips. Next his chest and torso started hardening changing into what looked like an armor that was on his body. Then his lower body changed, his knees bending backwards then his feet grew into what looked like heavily built wolf paws with four inch long claws at his toes. Then finally his head changed elongating into the head that she had seen on the artificial chiropterines that they had fought before, "This is my true form Miyu. Are you scared or disturbed from it?" He asked now there being an echo to his voice

"Niklas....". Miyu said in a calm yet nervous voice. When Miyu was nervous she often did things like pace around or find things to keep her hands busy. She happened to find a brush a few seconds before and began to brush her hair. "I want you to do something for me. What she was about to ask was something serious. Niklas had warned her before about it. But she was curious. If Miyu didn't ask it would bother her. "I want to see your other form."

Niklas nodded to her request when she said not to call her his queen, "I will try Miyu. But seeing that you are one of the queens, it will be hard to." He said to Miyu while he finished washing himself, he was not thinking of having a romance with Miyu seeing that he was a chivaliet from Saya.

Niklas nodded to Miyu then he sat down on the ground, "The one that set a blue rose on the catacomb's entrance was Haji. He does that from time to time to let Kai, you, and your sister that he still watching over her." He said to Miyu, "Do not worry about me Miyu. I do not need to sleep, I lost that need upon becoming a chivaliet." He said to Miyu when she offered him the couch or the cot, "You should not worry about me the way you do, I am here to protect you."

Miyu blushed. No one had ever complimented her singing before. What really got her going was when he said 'my queen'. It was things like that that really got a young woman's ego going. "You do not have to call me that Niklas."? Not like she minded or anything. She actually really liked it. But it was giving her the wrong idea. Miyu was smart enough to know that she should never consider Niklas to be more than a bodyguard. The problem was at her age she could not help but have a crush on Niklas. That is as far as it would go though. That would not stop her from flirting (lol)! Miyu could not help herself she was at that age where it came natural not matter how hard she tried to stop.

Miyu heard the water stop and looked up at him as he walked out. "Oh good! They kind of fit!" At least they were not tight. That would have made things really awkward! Miyu blushed again andlooked away from him. "I am such a perv!" She thought to herself. She cleared her throat and tried to break the silence. "There is a radio so0mewhere around here." If she remembered correctly there was also a small tv. "We can explore the catacombs tomorrow if you like. I do not remember a lot about the catacombs. My father use to take us there when I was young. I remember.....a blue rose...." That was really all sheremembered. "vertime we went to visit someone always put a blue rose near the enterance." Little did she know that it was Haji who had left the rose there for Saya.

"Our clothes will be dry by morning. For now we should rest. There is an extra cot in the closet or you can have the couch." She smiled and beganto look for the old radio.

Niklas listened to her song then he sighed softly as he just got the shampoo out of his hair keeping at the beat of the aria that she sang. He was greatful that the queen that he was supposed to serve was singing and he was the one to hear her voice the way that she did.

After he heard the door open he turned his back to the door so that Miyu wouldn't see anything, "It's fine my queen." He said to her just keeping still so nothing would show to her, "Your voice was beautiful Miyu." He said to her while she went to get his clothing. After she left his took the finishing touches to his shower then he stepped out with a set of black scrubs that were a little loose on him.

Her humming continued as she washed her Uniform. "I cannot run around dressed in scrubs." The haunting tune that she sung was called sull'aria. It was one of many songs from Mazart's LE Nozze Di Figaro. Kai had raised both of the girls to enjoy older mucic like opera and classical. While other teenage girls were listening to pop music or techno the twins listened to the masterworks of various composers. Kai knew his girls were above average so why would he settle for anything less. "Heh.....He called me a queen..." Miyu could not believe how formal Niklas was. He reminded her of a duke or lord from a fairytale. Hanging her clothes up she made her way to the bathroom where Niklas

Her eye remained glued to the floor at all times. "Do not mind me!" Miyu said in a cheerful tone. "Oh god I hope he does not think I am a peeping tom!" She thought to herself. Miyu grabbed his clothing and left a clean pair behind. "I hope thy fit." Miyu grabbed whatever she could. There was anot a huge selection of sizesand styles. In fact the scrubs she was wearing were way to big! She was not in a position to complain. She was lucky to still be alive. Her humming continued as she washed his clothes, "God he dresses like he is going to a funeral!" Laughing a little she turned around and hung his clothes up next to hers.

At least their clothesdid not smell anymore! Sitting down on the ground she leaned back against the wall and closed her eyes as she waited for him to get out.

The rapid speeds gave no troubles for Niklas as he seemed to fly through the air leaving nothing but a blur behind him while the pair rapidly approached the building she was looking for. Landing behind the worn out looking building, Niklas set Miyu down on the ground, "You take the lead Miyu. You know this place better than I could." He said to her letting her lead the way to the bunker.

Niklas crossed his arms, then when she asked what his age was, he said to her, "I suppose that I was about 21 when I changed into a chiropterine, for now I'm approaching my my 40s now." He said to her keeping his straight face then he walked into the bunker's entrance. As the pair progressed further into the bunker and reached the final door Niklas placed his hand on the door then he barely moved and the door flew open then he went in acting like a butler for her waiting for her to enter, "I have completed your request Miyu."

Niklas noticed after the door slammed shut, that it was pitch black inside of the bunker, the darkness however didn't affect him like it did Miyu, his eyes were built to see in the dark as well as in the light. Niklas listened to what she wanted to say, about the bunker or the catacombs being their meeting place should they be separated, "As you wish Miyu. Perhaps we should use the catacombs considering the fact that the final door is too heavy for you to move yourself, his attitude was too serious to have thought he was ever human before.

Even when Miyu made the comment about how she stunk, he kept his straight face not showing how much he wanted to laugh, but it was so that she wouldn't have to see what his true form looked like, he already knew that she would never see him the same way if he were to slip into his true form, "I will wash myself once you finish my queen." When she told him to sit still he froze in place while she cleaned a smudge off his cheek, "Thank you Miyu, but I am here to protect you. As Haji did for Saya." He said to her sitting on the concrete ground of the bunker with his legs under him like he had seen the japanese sit when he was visiting the country which turned to him moving into Tokyo a few months before he was turned, "I will wait here for you to return." He said to her before she went in the bathroom, "But burning your clothes will not be necesary, since all of your clothes will have your scent on them. Just have them washed."

Niklas listened to Miyu's voice, hearing how beautiful her singing was. He wanted to be able to enjoy listening to her voice, however he would have slipped into his other form if he let himself be loose on himself. Once Miyu was out of the bathroom, Niklas got up then he placed his weapon at the sword he had on the wall by the door, "I can wash clothing by hand Miyu. There aren't any machines in the outside so I had to learn or I wouldn't be able to wash my clothing." He said to Miyu before walking into the shower and turning the warm water on running the water on his body while he washed himself with the soaps in the shower.

Miyu pointed to an area in the distance. "I......" Whenever he jmped to a new building she covered her eyes. Whenever she did not close her eyes she tried not to look down. Miyu was deathly afraid of heights. When she originally asked himto do this she thought that they were going to run through the streets. One would imagine that Miyu would have figured out that they had to stay out of the eye of the public by now. "!!!!!!!!!" Her hands covered her eyes. She was to afraid to scream which was probably a good thing (lol) . They were getting closer. The houses began to thin out as they got closer and closer to the hide out. "It's down there!" Miyu pointed to a building that had long been forgotten by all those who passed by. The building itself was only a cover. The real place they were looking for was under the foundation. Kai was a firm believer in being prepared for any situation so when the twins were children Kai sold the family resteraunt and invested in building a bunker where no one would think to look.

"Go around back. There is a secret enterance" When they arrived to their destination Niklas put Miyu down. "So tell me Niklas....exactly how old are you?" Miku tinkered around with a brick placed in the wall and pushed it. A door slid open like something out of an old scifi movie. The two entered and continued to walk. There were more secret doors then just the enterance. Kai designed this place himself. He must have known that one day someone would use it. They passed through a five more doors until they came to seven different paths. Miyu bit her bottom lip and pointed at the middle path, "Let's try this one first." One path led to another. FINALLY They came to the last door. "This is where you come in." It would take the strength of thirty men to budge the door. Miyu was no where near being that strong.

He moved it with ease. The door slammed shut behind them. "I wonder if the lights still work." Miyu ran her hand along the wall searching for a switch. "FOUND IT!" She said happily as she flipped it on. There was only a single light strung down from the ceiling. She sighed and shook her head. "I remember this place being a lot bigger." Of course back then she was smaller. There was more to the bunker then what the eye could see. It was built to keep people in and the bad guys out. It was fully stocked with dried food and everything else the two of them would need to survive for years. "This is only temporary. I figure this can e our secret meeting place if we ever get seperated. Either that or we can meet at the familt catacombs...." That was where Saya was sleeping and the rest of her family was buried.

Miyu sniffed her clothes and made a sour face, "YUCK!!!!" She smelled horrible! "Why didn't you tell me that I was stinky?????" Miyu was joking around with him. She wanted to see him smile. "You can bathe after I am done......I INSIST (sp?)" She was not the only one who was stinking up a storm. "Do you think I should burn my clothes so nothing can follow my scent? Or am I just being paranoid??" Miyu wanted to play it safe. There were extra clothes packed away somewhere. She would look for them later. "Hold still....." Miyu reached up to his face and wiped away a smudge off of his cheek. She smiled and lt out a deep relaxing beath from through her nostrils. "I will be out shortly. We are safe here......do not worry so much Niklas...I will protect you....I will protect everyone....." Big words from a small person. All Miyu wanted to do was change everything back to the way it was. Perhaps if everything was back to normal Niklas would be able to loosen up a bit. Miyu found a pair of black scrubs folded up and ran to the shower. Niklas seemed like the type of person that would rather be caught dead then take a peak of Miyu in the shower. For about fifteen minutes the warm water ran down Miyu's body. Very quietly she cried. All of the frustration, confusion, and anger finally got to her. Miyu could not let Niklas see her cry anymore. It was already bad enough, he must have thought that she was a huge cry baby. After cleansing herself she got dressed in the scrubs and walked out humming a very soft lullaby Kai use to sing when she was a child. Her voice put Diva's to shame. It was a one of a kind sound that was soothing o the ear and made the heart just melt.

"Okay stinky your turn. There are some clean clothes already set out for you. If you would like me to wash what you have on I will do it. It is alright I do not mind. I also do not think you know how to wash your own clothes by hand???" Most people depended on a washing machine. Unfortunately there was not a washing machine in the bunker. They were lucky to even have fresh, warm, running water. As he went about doing whatever he was doing Miyu continued to hum very quietly.

After Niklas lifted her up in his arms, he started going faster seeming to be a blur as he rushed through the city clearing rooftops like he was taking a step, "You have to have the blood transfusions in order to keep you alive, normally you would have had to drink the blood yourself to survive." He said to her then he stopped listening to see if anyone had been managing to keep up with them though he went off again at the speed he went when he was running.

Niklas looked around keeping track with what was going on around them while jumping rooftops, "Where should I go now Miyu? You know where our destination is."
