They were stuck. Miyu did notknow how to drive either. In Japan only the rich could afford a full sized car. Others got around by using scooters, bikes, public transportation and walking. Running was taking to long. Miyu had not yet come to terms with her natural abilities. After all she was still in the process of awakening. There would come a day when Miyu no longer needed to feed on Niklas in order to awaken her killer instincts. For now her life depended on it. Feeding on anothers blood was disgusting and went against everything Miyu believed in but she had no other choice. For god sake Miyu was a vegetarian!

"My whole life I have depended on blood transfusions......." She said as her hand rubbed across the back of her neck to massage a few knots out. "Tell me something.....was that blood really for me because of my illness or because....I needed it to survive?" Deep down she already knew the answer.

"Miyu let out a sigh and held her hand out to Niklas. "I do not know how to drive either.....and I am obviously to slow to keep up with you." Her cheeks became flushed with red. "I d onot know how to ask this....but......" He took her hand and scooped her up in to his arms. Miyu was so embarassed to even ask for help. Niklas has already done so much for her. "Are you ready to go?" She asked him in a shaky voice.

Niklas kept his silent and stern disposition then he said to her as he ran, "I am sorry Miyu, but I have forgotten my driving abilities from when I was human. This mode of transport is what I can do best if me carrying you is an option."He said to her keeping even with her, "I can move at a faster pace than this, but I wish to protect you from all hazards which I am required to stay level with you Miyu." He said to her keeping calm in the process of everything.

"Can I trust you?" The place Miyu was taking him was a place that only she, , her sister, and her father knew about. Niklas nodded. "If we cannot learn to trust one another then all is lost." Niklas was all she had left. He was her only friend, and remaining family all balled up in to one big package. "Well hells bells Niklas we do not have any time to waste let's get a move on!". Miyu tightened her grip on her sword and tool off running ahead of Niklas.

"This is not going to work!". Miyu said out loud three miles in to their journey. "We need a faster mode of transportation.". Miyu was thinking of a car or a bike even. "Do you know how to drive?"

Niklas gently placed a hand on her shoulder then he said to Miyu, "No, you have no transformation to my knowledge, but your mother took the forms of any humans that she drank blood from or anyone she felt she wanted to be. You and your sister are both queens so you can change into any form at will." He said to her, "But no, there are no different chiropterines because they do not have a good sample of your blood." He said to her,

Niklas heard that Miyu had found a place that was safe to rest, "If that is what you desire, then I'll escort you to where you wish to go." He said to Miyu then he followed her lead since where she request, he had no knowledge about.

Though the transformation was frightening Miyu did not react physically. Mentally her mind and heart were racing at what felt like a million miles at hour. "So...we are the ones who go bump in the night.". It was as simple as that. Miyu and Niklas were monsters. "Can I transform? Or am I lucky enough to keepthis form at all times?". Perhaps because she was a new breed she had a completely different form that no one had ever seen before. "If I am an entirely different species does that mean the chiopterans will be different as well?". For right now the real monsters were the same as they were before. Until the enemy got a hold of her blood the chiopterans would not be able to change.

Joining this battle felt like a mistake. It was like Miyu was stuck in a nightmare that she could not wake from. No matter how many times she told herself that she was human all facts proved her wrong. "All I wanted to do was go home...and now I have no home to go too.". Miyu looked down at the ring on her finger then at the picture. It made her smile. "Hmm?". Miyu flipped the picture. "Niklas! I think I may have found a place for us to rest.". On the back of the pic was an address to a safe house out somewhere in the countryside of Japan. "Let's head out.". Miyu waited for him

Niklas closed his eyes then he said to her, "You at least can have a normal life when this is all over. I've been this way before you even knew that you were Chiropterines. I may look like I'm 20, but in reality I am more closer to 40." He said to her, "And you can keep that form without much concentration, while I on the other hand must keep everything in check just to keep my human appearance." His anger was starting to show and in the process his right arm grew to a massive size with a huge claw at the end while looked like it was made to completely evicerating it's victim. The forearm part of his arm appeared much like a primative shield and was harder than rock, "Your aunt let you live so that you and your sister could live a life that she had never done before." He said to her his eyes growing a bright red with his pupil turning into a slit.

He began to calm down his arm returning to normal and his eyes going back to the soft blue color, "Unfortunately I do not know where the head quarters are. If I knew then I wouldn't be risking your life in this problem." He said to her then he turned around feeling where the sleeve had shredded when his arms transformed, "And I'm sorry you had to see my arm. I'm just glad that you didn't seethe rest of my transformation."

Miyu looked so very tired. Even her movements gave away her weakened state. “I do not care Nilklas. Just take me away from here.” It saddened her to see her childhood home be destroyed in the swirling flames. “One way or another I will see my family again.” Inside the seed of hate was growing. The enemy had now taken everything away from her. “I can no longer see my friends, I can no longer see my family….HELL I CANNOT EVEN LIVE A NORMAL LIFE! I’m nothing but a freak…..I can’t even stand to look at myself anymore.” Miyu let out a loud, long, frustrated sigh and just began to walk off. “I do not care where we go …I just need to rest…” She hoped that after she fell asleep she would not wake up. “If my species is so dangerous then why did aunt Saya allow us to live. She could have finished this pointless battle long ago.” Her entire family was taken from her even before she knew they existed. Her mother, her grandfather, her uncle, and her aunt Saya were all gone. “At least I have my father and sister left.”

Her hands clutched so tightly that her fingernails broke through the skin and blood dripped out on to the street. “Maybe if I give myself up this will all end. The enemy will have what they want and they shall leave my family alone.” It sounded like a good idea but according to Niklas the enemy would never stop, they would have to be destroyed. “In order to kill a snake you must remove the head. Where is the enemies last known headquarters?” They would not travel their tonight. They would go there a little later on. Miyu wanted to investigate the enemy a little more. “How did they know where to find me? How did they find out about my sister and I? What do they want? They still have samples of my mother’s blood so why would they need mine? My blood will taint the other samples and destroy everything they have already created. There is something we are missing.”

Niklas waited for Kai and David to finish with their tests, then when they finally appeared he got up from his place, "I could sense that there was something that was different about Miyu. She didn't have the same scent as Saya." He said to the men concerned for what would possibly happen because of this major condition that was happening.

After all the good byes were said Niklas gently placed a hand on Miyu's shoulder, "It's time that we take our leave as well. And we should leave as soon as possible." He said to her looking back at Miyu's burning home, "I was required to do this as well Miyu. It still hurts me even though it was years ago. While you were still a small child." He said to her then he looked to Ksi, "I can promise you that Mitu will return to you Kai. Even if it costs my own like she will return." He said to her placing the sheath for his weapon in his shirt then he started walking taking Miyu with him, "Where would you request we go now Miyu?" He asked her.

It broke her heart to see and hear that he could not let his guard down for even one second. Miyu wanted to say something to comfort him, or ease his mind but no words came out of her mouth. How could Miyu possibly tell him that it was alright when she knew nothing about him or what he had gone through. Very quietly she said, "I owe you a love song." It was a common saying that meant that she understood, and words could simply not explain what she could never bring herself to say. Forcing herself to smile just for him was a lot harder. No other words came out of her mouth, but the look in her eyes showed that in a way she felt happy that he knew he was no longer alone in the world.

Kai put his arm around Miyu's shoulder in a fatherly way. He had seen this once before. Saya went through the same pain. Diva on the other hand did not care which form her chaveliets took, she loved them all no matter what. Diva was also a cold blooded, murdering, whore that nearly enslaved the planet. Kai could see that his children were nothing like their mother but he could not help but worry. "Come on Miyu.....let's all sit down and talk for a while.....Niklas will be alright." Niklas was acting more and more like Haji every second that passed by.

The trio sat in the next room over (the kitchen). David and the others sat in the same room Niklas was in. David was going over the results og the girls blood samples. It was like comparing night to day. "Amazing simply amazing!" He said over and over. The others hovered around him and he explained how Miyu had evolved and develope in to a whole new species of chiropteran. While her sister remained the same. Unfortunately david would have to burn al of the evidence that he had uncovered. In fact they had to burn the house down after this little family reunion was over. They could not let anything fall in to the hands of the enemy. Kai overheard David's findings and let out a very loud sigh. "Miyu you are to remain with Niklas. Be a good girl and try not to give him to much heartache. PLEASE do not get distracted from the mission. You must be very careful. Once this is all over we can go back to being a family and live overseas. For now we must avoid any type of contact with eachother. For all we know this may be the last time we will ever see eachother. Say your goodbyes quickly because we need to go. The enemy will soon be on their way. For the first time in nearly 17 years Kai began to cry. It was not fare. God had taken away all of his family but the girls and now he was going to lose Miyu. The three said their goodbyes to eachother and returned to the livingroom. David had already destroyed all of the paperwork by shredding it, then tossing the pieces in to a garbage and burning it.

"It's time to go." David said to the others. Miyu gave her father and sister one last hug and turned to Niklas. She could not even find the strength to look him in the eyes. "It's time to go Niklas." Miyu felt so drained. Today had just been one misadventure after the other. Kai and the others went out the front door. "Are you ready?" David asked everyone. The moment Niklas and Miyu stepped out the door there was an explosion that came from somewhere within the house. Flames spread through the home quickly. All Miyu could do was watch as her past was burned along with the house. A van with tinted windows pulled up and the door flew open. "Our ride is here Kai it is time to go to the ship." The other got in but Kai stayed out for just a moment longer. "Father you are just making it harder." It did not matter Miyu ran to Kai and embraced him. She had no more tears to cry and no more words to say. "Good bye Miyu. Be safe and good luck. I promise we will see eachother again." Kai said to her. He looked at Niklas then let Miyu go, "Remember to keep you promise Niklas. I am holding you personally responsible for anything that happens to her. If you make her cry I will come after you......" Kai slipped something in to Miyu's hand and got in to the van. As the van drove off in to the distance Miyu opened her hand and looked down. She smiled for a moment. It was a wallet sized picture of a picture of Miyu and her family, also a small golden ring that once belonged to her grandfather, "Thank you....." She said to herself then stood there silently as the flames grew higher and higher.

Niklas for once had been caught by surprise by what she did. He then looked at her as she let go. He couldn't grow attached to Miyu, he was her guardian and her chivaliet, "Miyu. I'm sorry, but I can allow myself to become attached to anyone. It would keep me from hiding what I truly look like, you would think me no different as the monsters you fight." He said to her trying to keep a straight face thought on the inside he was about to cry, but again he had to be like Haji and remain with no romantic or friendly relationships or even visual emotions, "But I know that I'm not alone while I am your chivaliet."

Miyu could have been a total bitch and give the comand for him to spend time with her. She could have pouted, kicked and screamed until she got her way but because she respected Niklas she did not. Also she was not like that at all (lol). "Niklas...." Miyu reached out to brush a pice of hair away from his face but stopped mid way and dropped her hand. "......Niklas....I..." Miyu let out a very soft sigh. "Say something Miyu!". She thought to herself. "Tell him something...anything!". She thought to herself again. Following a natural maternal impulse she wraped her arms around him and held him for just a moment. "Its alright Niklas....I'm here now. You do not have to do it alone anymore." After that she let him go and went to her family.

"Miyu...." Kai did not know how to finish what he wanted to say. It was not a good idea for Miyu to get attached to anyone.
