Colton

Jared
"This sucks...." Colton murmured to himself, heading set on his desk and eyes shut in some attempt to find peace of mind. Teaching. That was what he was stuck doing...teaching. He'd spent a long time making fun of teachers because of they didnt make much, and he would constantly give them crap. Now, he was in their shoes. Why? Well, he couldn't exactlly say for himself. He had gotten older, and he'd started realizing he'd never had anything planned back during his days at Def Jam High. So when he graduated he decided to take a job where he'd have free summers. Unfortunately, that meant becoming a teacher. Fortunately, he wasn't alone in his choice of career. Jared had nothing better to do, so he decided to go for the same thing and as luck would have it, Colton's old friend had accepted a job at the same school...their old school even. Jarrick was taking over English, as he WAS a literary genius...and Colton had signed on as the PE teacher. A great choice in his own opinion, he could just tell kids to go run around a track while he played games on the computer. That's exactly what he remembered Coach Wilson doing, so he should get by with it.
"So, what did you think of your first day?" Jared asked, glancing over toward Colton from his position against the window of Colton's PE Instructor office.
"Its over?!" Colton snapped, looking up startled. Had that much time actually gone by? He could hardly believe it! He lost track of time with as long and boring as everything had been...so he was astonished to hear that he was free from work.
"Yeah...it is..." Jared stated, scratching the back of his head. "I can't believe you really didn't notice....." He murmured, shaking his head. "Why else would I be in here?"
"....Good point...." He answered, pushing back from his desk and kicking his feet up ontop of it. "Well, aside from being mind-numbingly boring its been alright. I can't believe how stale, and one dimensional the kids these days are...None of them seem half as cool as we were...even the cutting-emo-kids I see here are boring and quiet."
"So I've also noticed. But, unlike you, I've taken some pleasure out of this day. I've assigned The Inferno for my class to read, and its entirely too fitting when you take into consideration that I intend to make this year hell for them." A joke....very much unlike the nerdier boy of the two, but he seemed rather pleased to have been going over literary works of art all day...it was something of his passion.
"Well, I just told them to run around the track and pretended that I payed attention and cared. That's about all I did."
"Not too proud of your job?"
"I said it before, I didn't have anything planned...and if Caanan hadn't told me to take into teaching because of free weekends and summers off I'd have never done it."
"Speak of the devil....where the hell is he? Didn't he used to work here?"
"They had to change alot of the facuilty in the school after some kid brought a gun in."
"Is he alright?" Jared asked, thinking Caanan may have gotten hurt.
"Of course he is, the bastard could fuck with time by snapping his fingers...Why wouldnt he be alright?"
"Well why else would they change the facuilty?"
Colton shrugged. "All Caanan told me was that he grew bored of failed attempts to woo the Queen Bee of the school....so he decided to move on and get a job back in the 'music business'."
"....He's singing? I didnt know about that."
"Pfffft...Dont kid yourself...Caanan's managing some of the talent these days. He quit singing for a reason, he liked to run things...not get run."
"That makes some sense...." Jared answered, folding his arms over his chest. "So....What of everyone else? I never put too much thought into them...so I lost track of the majority of the guys. You seem to have some knowledge on them, so would you enlighten me?"
"Well....Jarrick pops up every once in awhile to have a chat....He became an assassin, and I guess he's gotten a little lonely not having anyone to talk to anymore...Don't tell the crazy bastard I said so though, he'd try and castrate me in my sleep. As for Reno, he took over his old man's business...so he's selling weapons....ahem...I mean, 'musical instruments' around the world. He's in town still, but usually pretty busy....I've heard he tries to be a good customer to Jarrick to....Imagine that, eh?"
"Not to burst your bubble, but what about Aden?"
"Aden......?" A light flicked on in his head suddenly and Colton nodded. "The weirdass angel kid? He's one of Caanan's 'talents' apparently the kid's a heterosexual version of Clay Aiken....Incredibly gay voice that girls love and all, y'know?"
"Who's Clay Aiken?"
"Eh...Old pop culture reference...don't fret yourself with it." Colton retorted, tilting his neck side to side to let out a few cracks.
"Any idea what happened with those girls we always seemed to get caught up with?"
"...You're asking me? I was thinking you'd be the one to know." Colton stated, eyes widened some. "I was under the impression even that you and that smart bitch were going to get hitched and pop out a dozen babies."
"No...It didn't quite work out with the separation during college. What about you? Weren't you trying to move in on the one girl?"
"Pffft....I quit that while we were still going to school....Last time I try spooge on a girl I met while she was trying to cap me through the mouth with an uzi just to get me into detention...."
"....That...sounds like a bad idea in itself." Jared mused, lofting an eyebrow.
"You'd think so, wouldn't ya?"
