| Kat swallowed, forcing down the nausea that had tied her stomach in knots. Deformed babies? What the hell was going on up here?! It was sick and wrong. "Yech...let's just get out of this room a.s.a.p. It's disgusting." Smells like death, she thought, thoroughly grossed out. She let the doctor pass, who literally looked like death, the color completely drained from his face. Poor guy. Pale as a ghost. It's one thing to treat nasty wounds, another to see deformed creatures, and even worse, deformed probably-dead babies in tanks. Just as they were halfway across the room, Kat heard a crack. She halted. "Wait- did anyone hear that?" No one else did. She waited. Nothing. They continued along for a few seconds before Kat heard the noise again. She stopped. Another crack. She spun around, gun leveled. No one besides the four of them. When she began to loosen her grip on her gun, the tank closest to the previous door shattered on one side, a baby with two heads sliding out with the liquid. The queasiness rose up in Kat's stomach. She swallowed. This was so not good._________________ Recent Movies: Up ; What Happens In Vegas ; The Road To El Dorado ; The Haunting In Connecticut ; Donnie Darko (yes, again xD) |

| Kat hurried off the tram after Terra, knees bent and gun leveled. She turned abruptly to check all areas around them. "All clear on my side." She dropped an arm to her side and waved the other two out of the tram. They stepped out nervously, trusting Kat and Terra. As the sliding door opened, it happened so fast, the beast clawing into Terra's shoulder with sharp blade arms. She shot the arm off shortly before Kat got a few rounds into various parts of its body, killing it. She kept her handgun ready in case more were attracted by the sounds of gunshots. "Take care of her arm, Dr. Yuen. Thank the gods we brought you along." She sighed, keeping aware of their surroundings.
Jonathan Yuen hurried forward and crouched beside the Sergeant, snapping open his briefcase. He quickly squeezed the antibiotic cream into the wound and pressed the skin together, mumbling an apology when she winced. The creature had cut her pretty deep. The cream would reattach the skin and speed up blood production to make up for the body's loss, however, it would prove to be a painful recovery nonetheless. After a minute or so of applying pressure, he wrapped her shoulder in a thick gauze-like material. Although the wound was pretty much healed, the wrap would hold it together so there would be no chance of re-opening the wound. He fastened the buckles on his suitcase and stood up, giving Terra a hand to pull her up with her good arm. "Go easy on that arm for a good ten minutes and you should be fine. There is a mere 2.56% chance for infection since we acted upon it quickly, but I wouldn't shoot with it in fear of tearing your shoulder open again." He pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose slightly. _________________ Recent Movies: Up ; What Happens In Vegas ; The Road To El Dorado ; The Haunting In Connecticut ; Donnie Darko (yes, again xD) |

| Doctor Yuen nearly did have a heart attack at the sight of the beast. It was like nothing he'd ever seen, and he never wanted to see. Kat stood beside him, quick to shoot the legs with her hand gun. Save the heavy machinery for if things got worse. Dr. Yuen gripped his suitcase to his chest as he stared at the unmoving remains. He unzipped the case and pulled out a pair of tweezers and a small glass bottle. He untwisted the air-tight cap and used the tweezers to collect skin and hair samples. When, and if, they got to the control station, he could examine the pieces and do some testing. They appeared to be similar to humans, but barely. Maybe they were hybrids of a deadly sort. Only science could tell. He slid the objects back into his suitcase and zipped it shut, following obediently behind Isaac and Terra, Kat close behind.
She kept her gun tightly at hand, ready to aim and fire if another showed up. The blinking yellow lights and computer's voice were beginning to piss her off and give her a headache. Kat heard a noise from around the corner, turning quickly to fire at another creature. First the head and chest, letting Terra take care of the moving limbs. Once all was silent, they continued forward. "I've only been here a few times, so I take it you know the way, Sergeant?" Kat was positive that Terra did. Most of the higher officials came every so often to check up on things. Being an arms officer, Kat really didn't have much of a reason to be upon the Ishimura. Not with the fighting going on down on Earth. The Ishimura was pretty peaceful. Well, up until now of course.
They entered the corridor leading to the Tram, making a sharp right at the end. Three of the strange creatures stood at the end, ripping apart at a dark lump on the ground. One turned its head speedily, meeting Kat's gaze. Dr. Yuen slid behind Kat, letting her get a better aim. She leveled the gun and fired off a round of shots, hitting the head of one, the chest of another, and dispatching the limbs of the third, getting her last bullet into the head of the second. She used her left hand to slide the handgun back into its holster as her right tugged the second out to shoot.
Once all three were down, she told Terra to watch Isaac and Dr. Yuen as she approached the bodies. Kat wanted to make sure they were down for good, and was curious as to what the lump was that they took an interest in. When she was sure they were dead (or whatever those things did), she kicked the lump over with her boot, frowning. "Well, this isn't good at all. Hey, Sergeant? Might wanna take a look at this..." she yelled over, observing the torn-apart soldier._________________ Recent Movies: Up ; What Happens In Vegas ; The Road To El Dorado ; The Haunting In Connecticut ; Donnie Darko (yes, again xD) |

| Terra followed Kat to the door and watched her punch in the code and kick the door roughly open. The screeching noise grated against her nerves and she clenched her teeth slightly, if it was one thing she hated that was metal on metal. She stepped out onto the catwalk behind Kat with Isaac hot on her heels and she let her eyes travel around but she showed no obvious suprise like the rest of the team. She moved around Kat and heard the soft inquiry slip from her lips, she turned dark eyes on her and shook her head "I don't know but lets hope we don't have to find out" she said softly. She looked at the two men standing behind them, her brother was looking around but his expression showed that he somehow expected something like this and she frowned. "Kat take the rear" she said "stay on guard" she said and then pulled out her own weapon. The gun was automatic but it fired the bullets three vertically or horizontally depending on the setting, it was also equipped with a blade rather like a saw on the bottom. She pointed it forward and made her way cautiously to the door that led to the flight deck room. She scanned a card and the door swished open, the room inside was well intact with the corridor to the next room showing the only damage. One of it's windows had been broken out and glass glittered faintly along the floor. "We need to make it to the Tram room so we can reach the control station" she said softly and finally let her gun drop to her hip. The place seemed deserted and nothing moved, Terra moved over to the corridor and started to open the door but suddenly the room was plunged into darkness. ~Quarentine activated, foreign life forms detected~ the ships voice alerted them, yellow lights flashed on and illuminated the room in flashes. Terra moved back to make a circle with Isaac and Doctor Yuen between her and Kat, her sharp eyes darted all over the room but nothing moved.
Suddenly a window to the Tram corridor shattered and an inhuman growl reached her just as something clearly not human loomed into view. The thing was pale and hairless like a human and the face looked roughly human but that's where the similarities ended. It's arms were shaped like sickles and it stumbled along awkwardly on it's two legs as it made straight for them "fuck" she snarled softly "what is that thing?". Terra aimed quickly and blew the things head off before it even got close but that didn't seem to slow it at all in fact it started to run. She heard her brother gasp in her ear and she glared "Kat aim for the legs!" she instructed and concentrated on the the offending arms, her first two shots easily took them off and Kat was quick to dispatch the legs. The thing squealed even with no head and finally lay still, Terra wiped sweat from her forehead and looked at her team who seemed to be unscathed from the event. She went over to the thing and kicked it harshly, the ribs caved in easily but she wondered how it didn't die when she had shot it clearly in the head. Isaac was staring at the thing and Doctor Yuen looked like he was about to have a heart attack._________________ |

| Mr. Yuen caught the first aid kit in a fumbling motion. He knelt down to pop the small white box open, reaching for the antibiotic cream. He smeared it onto the wound, wincing slightly at the shock of pain. The cut shrunk then disappeared completely, and he wiped off the remnants of blood. Mr. Yuen carefully replaced the cream and snapped it shut, sliding the box into his bag. You never knew when you'd need a first aid kit, especially with the gravity field's malfunction. Who knew what else was wrong on the Ishimura?
Kat slid the glove on, fitting like a charm. The newer technology was made to conform to your shape. Helped stay on better while in action. It was a wonder the things these scientists could create. The latest laser guns were stunning models; literally. They didn't momentarily stun either. It lasted a full hour of inactivity. Unfortunately they were still getting the bugs out and wouldn't give Kat a prototype. They didn't figure she'd need one to escort two technicians to the Ishimura anyhow. Plus, with Sergeant Scott there, it was even less necessary. "Good. Well, I'm pretty sure there won't be much of a problem anyway. The Ishimura is quite efficient. They must be trying out some new programs that had a glitch. We'll just fix it up and head on back." Kat re-adjusted her weapons and tugged the door open, after pushing in the code. Because of the angle of their landing, the door wouldn't open completely, so she kicked it roughly out, hearing it screech against the walkway outside. She hopped out and stopped to stare. "What...happened?"
Jonathan Yuen stepped out behind her, allowing the sergeant out first, of course. The station was desolate and run down. As if no one had set foot there in years. Even though the crew had just recently received the call. Confused looks replaced each's expression. Kat was the first to break the silence. "This doesn't make sense..."

| Terra looked over her arms officer rather carefully when she said she was fine just to make sure that she really was ok. Terra respected the other female because she had proved herself more than once in the field and Terra knew that she was valuable, but she also knew that Kat was tough. She turned her head to Mr. Yuen and nodded before reaching under the captains chair and pulling a first aid kit out that had been velcroed beneath the seat, all the seats had one just in case. She threw it to him and prayed that he could catch it before turning her attention back to the controls in front of her "Lola, damage report" she barked out and the ship binged softly as it ran a scan of itself. ~Port booster missing...multiple puntures to the hull~ the ship answered in its cool voice. Terra frowned "damn" she muttered, hopefully the crew on this ship wouldn't mind giving up one of their escape pods to send her small team home when they were done with the repairs. She turned her face completely calm and blank, the one thing that made her a shoe in for the Sergeant position was the fact that she was so good at keeping calm in high stress situations and keeping her team calm as well. "Doesn't look like Lola's gonna be making it back anytime soon" she said and patted the seat affectionately before walking over to the engineer slumped over in his chair with his face in his hands. She touched his shoulder and he looked up slowly "Isaac would you mind giving out those communication devices that you brought along" she asked softly and he nodded. After all how could he say no to his baby sister, no one on the ship knew of their family ties and they usually preferred to keep it that way but there was no denying that they worked well together. Isaac wiped the blood from his forehead with a frown and watched as a drop stained his white shirt crimson. He let his green hues wander over to Mr. Yuen and then Kat, neither was hurt and Kat seemed to have avoided any injury besides a bruise. Yuen complained of a cut and Isaac watched as his sister threw the scientist a first aid kit before studying Kat for any injury she might be hiding before she turned her eyes to him. He met her gaze with an intense look before dropping his face into his hands, a slight pulse above his brow was giving him a headache and he couldn't even begin to think of what had last transpired between his sister and himself. Suddenly a light weight settled on his shoulder and somehow he knew it was her before he raised his eyes to meet hers again and watched as her perfect lips formed words he was supposed to comprehend. He nodded numbly before standing and making his way back to a cabinet and popping the latch so he could reach inside and draw out four pairs of gloves. All were made of light kevlar though they looked to be made of leather and he hand a pair out to each memeber of the team including Terra before letting his eyes flicker over all of them. "The gloves are a light weight Kevlar, just in case you run into trouble and need to hit something pretty hard, but their main function is this", he held up his own hand and pressed his finger to his wrist. The teams names flashed up and he selected Kat, her glove glowed in a small pinprick on the wrist and his hologram face popped up in front of her "they work as communicators and allows us a direct video and audio feed to each other, they also record everything that is happening around us...so if one of us disappears then we'll know why and how" he said darkly. He saw Terra shake her head subtly but he paid no mind to it._________________ |

| Kat was the head arms officer in her sector. One of the only women in the entire special forces, and one of the most respected, aside from Sergeant Terra Scott, whom was standing before her. That in itself would've impressed most, even more so that they'd be working together. The mission wasn't a dangerous one. Escort the technicians to the Ishimura for repairs. She didn't expect trouble, and was an easy-going person naturally. Taking a cigarette out of her pocket, she stuck it between her lips. Kat didn't smoke much anymore, but it wasn't like she didn't take a few drags after a stressful day. The scientist, she believed was named Mr. Yuen, politely reminded her that she couldn't light up while onboard the ship. She tugged it from her lips with two fingers. "I've worked with the forces for longer than you have, I'm sure. I realize the rules and am in no way breaking them. Just because I can't light up doesn't mean I can't have one out. If you have a problem with it, too bad. I have no problem with kicking your ass after the mission's through. Capische?" She responded cooly. He nodded, obviously frightened. Mostly because he knew she would. Kat was like that. She put the cigarette back in her mouth as Sergeant Scott gave them the current mission stats.
As far an anyone of them was concerned, it was a repair mission. Bringing a scientist along was merely standard procedure. There was no proof of a disease, or risk of one, but the forces were always careful and prepared. The scientist had skills in both computer techs and scientific research, so either way he could be of service, although his specialty was in bacterial sciences (a.k.a. finding cures). Kat had her machine gun strung over her back, and double handguns in their hip holsters. Her laid-back nature tended to piss off those who ranked above her, but in the end, she was extremely skilled and didn't take any shit. She was serious about her job, although most found her sarcasm unpleasantly nonchalant.
Mr. Jonathan Yuen sat carefully in the passenger seat, his suitcase snug between the seat's armrest and his body. He was nervous about the mission, never having gone into space before. And the fact that the arms officer was completely calm about the ordeal was certainly not helping a bit. And the fact that the ship's computer had just announced the status for their landing, made his stomach twist in nausea. The ship vibrated violently and he lurched forward, left arm smacking against the sharp edge of the control panel. He pulled his body back and used his right arm to snap his seatbelt into place, left arm throbbing, blood pulsed out of the newly form cut and he grimaced as the blood seeped into his lab coat. He gripped the armrests tightly as the ship sped down to Ishimura.
Kat grasped the captain's seat and stood her ground, frowning as her cigarette was knocked from her mouth from the sudden shift in speed. Her knuckles turned white from the pressure and her muscles began to hurt as she struggled against gravity's pull. Was it even gravity pulling her back? No, she knew it wasn't. But the reason wasn't important. The ship crashed into the landing bay and Kat lost her balance, slamming into the captain's chair before falling backwards. And damn, did it hurt when you land on your back. On your gun. She stood and stretched, body throbbing, back in pain. "Yeah, I'm alright. Sore, but alright." Mr. Yuen replied that he was fine, but needed a first aid kit for his arm. It wasn't a deep cut, but should still be tended to as soon as it was possible._________________ Recent Movies: Up ; What Happens In Vegas ; The Road To El Dorado ; The Haunting In Connecticut ; Donnie Darko (yes, again xD) |

| Static buzzed over the com link as a man appeared on the screen of the small ships communications bank the hologram man wiped his forehead and looked rushed and harrowed “this is Captain Onyx of the Ishimura, the ships gravity shields have started to fail and then even the life support is faulty. We’re requesting immediate assistance and repairs, I repeat immediate repairs and assistance. I’m not sure how long the communications are going to stay up but before they go I need to tell someone about what’s been going on up here it’s-” static ate the rest of the captains words and the four people in the ship exchanged glances. The female that stood by the controls let her hazel orbs rest on each of them separately “that’s the last we’ve heard from the Ishimura in the past 48 hours and apparently whatever the captain was trying to tell us we won’t know until we actually get aboard the Ishimura but as far as I’m concerned this is nothing more than a repair mission” she said to her one other soldier and the two engineer and repair techs that they had with them. Saergant Terra Scott was the one of the few women to hold a position in the special forces and one of the only Seargants for that matter, her excellent performance was unignorable and her promotion had been inevitable for the federation in the end. She turned her eyes out of the windshield and rested them on the huge drill ship that was the Ishimura, it was the biggest of its kind and the most successful so far. The federation had made it very clear that they could lose it and whatever was wrong up here had to be fixed, no matter what it happened to be. Terra’s eyes darked at the President of the Federations parting words and she wondered on just what they could mean, what could possibly be going on with the Ishimura and the colony that could make him speak like that. She was aware that the colony on the planet below the Ishimura had had some outbreaks of disease and wasn’t flourishing well but there was nothing to suggest this wasn’t normal. She raised a slim gloved hand and wiped it across her brow to clear away a strand of her dark hair before she turned back to her small crew. Each of them had a different expression on their face and she rested her gaze on the engineer that they had brought with them. The man looked nervous and his blue green eyes were slightly narrowed, if his gaze could have burned a hole in the floor they probably would have. Terra moved over to the other two members of her team and smiled comfortingly with them “I’m sure it’s just routine” she assured them and nodded slightly before moving back to the controls. ~Entering gravity orbit field~ a computerized feminine voice announced and Terra nodded and clasped her hands behind her back “thank you Lola, adjust to slip into orbit with the Ishimura” she instructed and a soft dinging announced the ships compliance with her orders. Suddenly the small ship started to vibrate violently and Terra was thrown forward into the control board, and alarm whined ~Orbit incompatible, Orbital pull over 200% stronger~ the voice announced calmly. Terra turned her head as much as possible to her crew, her eyes met that of the engineers, Isac was his name “everyone brace!” she yelled and threw her body back into the pilots seat before strapping herself down and waiting for the impact. When the ship did hit she was wrenched forward and her breath left her in a hiss of air, she was fairly certain that she was going to have at least some bruised rips after this. The ship thankfully crashed into the landing bay and lay at an awkward angle so that the nose was pointed into the floor but the door was still usable and she could see the catwalks from where she sat. She gingerly touched her ribs and held back a scream, ok maybe a few were broken but it wasn’t anything she couldn’t handle on her own. She ripped the seatbelt off and stood lightly hunches due to the pain shooting through her torso “was anyone hurt?” she asked and looked around to make sure none of her team was incapacitated. Isac shook his head but there was a small cut over his eyebrow that was bleeding onto his white shirt, he reached up at her look and shook his head “it’s nothing” he said in a surprisingly deep voice. He seemed calmer now and she nodded before turning to the rest of her team._________________ |
