Blood Colored AutumnsAs the night grew stale, the winds blowing increasinly rough, two figures leapt forth from the lurching shadows of the bamboo forest. They're bodies flashed darkly against the pale silver moon, silhouettes they became. Soundlessly two pairs of feet struck the bitter dirt. There they stood for a brief moment in time, the moonlight illuminating their features momentarily. One was a tall, well built man whose locks of pure silver brushed gently against his marble like face. The other was a beautiful, well shaped woman with locks that resembled the feathers of ravens. Neither of them looked upon the other before making haste out of the clearing and back into the flood of forestry. Like shadows fighting and fleeing the sight of growing light the two moved, with such gracefulness and silence. It was unclear whether their feet had even struck the ground as they ran and leapt forth through and under the branchs.
After her feet touched a thick, rounded branch of a tree, the woman stopped. "I think we lost them." Her voice was soft and calm like fresh snow and just as quiet. Looking down below her she watchd the man come to a halt under the same tree. She could tell just from the way his head reeled around, he was scoping out the area. After all, he did happen to have sharper vision than anyone she had ever known. He then looked up at her, eyes locking for a second as he nodded. "Phew," grunted the girl softly as she lowered herself to take a seat upon the branch, legs hanging loosely in the air.
The man below her, only several or so feet, sighed a breath of air resembling that of the midnights late breeze, soft but soundless. "Ayame, we're splitting up." However, unlike his breath, his voice was dark and heavy like the night before a monsterious storm, holding a tint of mystery behind it all. With a soft parting of his hidden lips he leaned back gently, pressing his back into the trunk of the autumn leaved tree. Immedately he felt the jagged bark against his backside.
Gripping the branch with her hands she blinked and stared down upon him once more. "Yeah but-....Alright. Where can we meet up again, Rikimaru? Lord Gohda wanted us both back to report." The girl with a beautiful voice but deadly eyes questioned, tilting her head back. As her eyes pulled upwards to the heavens beyond, she caught sight of leaves fluttering to the dead ground, resembling red and brown hued butterflies in flight before death. With their broken, punctured wings. The leaves she deemed as dying butterflies swayed before her paled face and continued to drift along.
"There is a bordering village to the south of here. But the village I speak of is not the life adorned village. This one was burned to the ground many moons ago. No one guards over it because the temples and idols have already been stolen." Replied the man sternly, painting a visual in the womans mind of the village. He knew that she would have no problems finding it. With a light grunt he pulled himself away from the trees trunk and already began to head in the western direction. "Good luck, Ayame."
"Like I need luck." And just like that the two parted ways. Rikimaru headed to the west, Ayame to the east eventually to cross paths again. But for now, as Rikimaru vanished into the shadows, Ayame sat in the tree. For being a bloodstained warrior of darkness, a ninja, this beauty adored nature. Turning her head up once more to the heavens, a faint smile crossed her lips as a hand extended to the world before her. With her palm open, one of those 'dying butterflies' fluttered down and came to rest between her fingers. "Good luck..Rikimaru.." Was her whisper, tilting her hand just enough to allow the leaf to leave her hand.
Days passed, nights never went by without a tainted crimson stain. Ayame wandered only at night, occasionally during the day dressed as a commaner in nearby villages. But as night fell once more upon the sleeping world around her, Ayame sprang back to life as the stealth assasin. Her travels brought her around mountain passes, castles of blood thirsty lords and rouge samurai. Not a night past without her two kodachi's being painted red.
With a sigh the raven haired girl jumped high up into a dying tree perched upon a carved hill, just over looking a large village. In the distance beyond she could vaguely make out the shadow of yet another castle. "Looks interesting enough." She cooed gently to herself as the night breeze hissed throughout the dried grass around the tree. Erecting herself from her crouch position Ayame pulled her fingers through a loose lock of hair, tucking it behind her ear in the process. Her figure was stunningly outlined by the silver glow of a cresent moon but was suddenly lost. Ayame pulled her body to hug the tree abruptly, concealing herself in the shadows and silhouettes of the tree. Just as she had done so, approaching footsteps were heard, walking down a worn out path leading to the village. Peering just over the bark of the tree she made out three blotchy figures. Who was this now?
"I heard Lord Gohda sent some dogs out." One man coughed loudly, spitting furiously onto the ground. "I loathe ninja. Those pesky bastards. Killed three of my men they have." The longer she studied the men as they walked directly into a curtain of moonlight, Ayame could see swords perched at their sides. They were guards. Just her luck..
The two men beside him laughed and howled at him, one slapping his back. "It's alright. Why would a ninja come here? Lord Ranzo..."
"That's exactly why. Ranzo isn't to be messed with! Not to mention that creepy man whom lurks with him..What was his name? Onikage?" The trio of guards all froze suddenly at mention of the mans name. Onikage. The name even sent Ayame chills. But where had she heard it before...?
Suddenly, as her hand gripped tightly around the hilt of her blade, Ayame's orbs went wide as she looked down at her shoulder. She stared in disbelief as blood trickled down her perfect skin, glinting in the gleaming silver light. There was a moment where her body twinged at the sight, almost giving herself away but her body managed to still itself. But as her eyes adjusted in and out, growing hazed and glazed with confusion, the trio below her broke out in laughter as more men greeted them. "Heh, Lord Ranzo was correct. She would be lurking near by." One man stated with a chuckle. Ayame felt her body growing dull and numb suddenly. "Hurry and take her to the dungeon. Won't he be pleased with us..." That was the last sentance the kunoichi heard before her body crumbled with weakness, her body spilling over the branch and onto the ground with a thunk...
((ooc: Hey there. ^^ This is a ninja thread ((Not like Naruto but Tenchu.)) and I would like a male character to join. Maybe a spy within the castle which they're taking Ayame to. He stumbles across her, realizing she's a ninja and secretly tries to set her free. Of course Ayame wont know of this until later on in the thread. ^.^ Rated R for violence and possably romance. Thankyou!))
