Ran shook her head. "Sarda is speaking of a best case scenario. The most common result is that even though a person has the power to control any type of magic, they can only use one or two. Becoming a master of multiple magic usually requires three things; The ability to cast magic in the first place, multiple personality disorder, and the willpower needed to remain in charge of all those personalities. 'Wizard' is not a word befitting your teacher; 'Sage' is closer to his description. Sarda doesn't create energy with magic like a normal wizard, he instead uses the environment's natural energy, using his magic to manipulate it at will. Because he is merely shifting energy from one medium to another, he does not have to follow the law that all the energy in the universe must be constant."

"But come now, and let us leave town. I'd like to give you a bit of training myself, if you're interested." she offered, extending a hand.

"Oh wow..."Serenity was shocked at the discovery that Ran was an Eidolon."I've never known an Eidolon to be more than a beast..."She shook her head at Ran's question about her magic abilities."To be honest, I don't get it either...When I was younger, and my powers became more apparent, my brother took me to see a very wise wizard named Sarda. He said that he had never seen such strong mana before, and that I had within me the power to control all types of magic...Of course, to this day only my white magic has ever improved...I've practiced other basic spells from different classes ever since that day, but...well, you've seen the results..."She motioned in the direction that the man from earlier ran off to.

At this, Ran gave a bow. "A pleasure to meet you. My name is Ran... Eidolon of the space-time witch Yukari Yakumo." At this, she pulled down on her shirt to the point it was at her right shoulder, so Serenity could clearly see the collar-like mark around her neck. "But for most of the day I'm a girl who enjoys her twelve hours of freedom as best as I can... so what's this about being a master of all types of magic?" she asked, her tails waving. "You should know that's impossible. Especially since there are said to be as many magics as there are natural phenomena. In fact, there are some people who believe our very existance is magic in and of itself..." she trailed off, giving a light sigh.

Serenity shook her head and sighed."I had no teacher...My older brother took care of me and my other brothers when we were little, and they never showed any kind of magic abilities. Then a few years ago I began to live on my own..."She held her head back up and gave a warm smile."I call myself an Arcane Mage, because I'm a master of all types of magic! Er, well..."She began to sulk again."I should be a master, but all I can really do is white magic...and summoning my own Eidolon...Everything else just doesn't work or ends up hurting someone..."She sighed again. However she quickly recovered and bowed again."I'm very sorry! I haven't even introduced myself! My name is Serenity, it's very nice to meet you!"

Ran shook her head. "It was no trouble at all; I'm always happy to help someone who looks as if she had been unjustly accused. But... who taught you how to control your magic? From what I had seen, that means you hit him with a reasonably high amount of magic power; the sort of power that no teacher would allow to leave unchecked by some means." she explained. "What kind of mage are you, anyway?"

Serenity opened her eyes and looked around. She was glad to find the man gone, but was surprised to find the fox girl standing over her. She reluctantly stared at the girl's hand, but grabbed it and pulled herself up."Th-thank you so much!"She gave a light bow."If there's anything I can do to repay you, please let me know. I'm terribly sorry for troubling you..."She held her head down and gave a light sigh."It's because of my bad magic control that that man got hurt in the first place..."

Just as the man came up to her, an evil grin on his face despite the pain he was in, a small slip of paper shot between the two of them. A spell card, of all things. "She said she was sorry, good sir." a singsong voice rang out, as a young nine-tailed fox being stepped out into the light, carrying two bags. One bag had standard materials, i.e. potions, ethers, and status healing items. The other was full of fried tofu. "Now. If you would calm down enough for her to apologize properly, I'm sure I could spare a healing spell for that new burn of yours that is so dangerously close to your unmentionable areas."

"Y-you... I know you, you're that witch's slave! That's right, Ran Yakumo!" he stuttered. If he was right, then he had better apologize. Now. Ran gave a light sigh and removed her hat, allowing her golden yellow ears to be enlightened by the sun. "I-I'm sorry!! Don't kill me..." he begged, backing away slowly before turning and running away.

Ran gave a light sigh, putting her hat back on. Seriously, how that man had managed to run so fast when it must have hurt so badly to take a step was beyond her comprehension. Men truly were strange creatures. Slowly she knelt down to Serenity's level, extending her hand. "He won't bother you anymore." she said, smiling. "Probably." Her tails waved about behind her, enveloping her body, rubbing against her clothing. One of her tails moved toward the spell card she had thrown, brushing it back to her.

"Get back here!"A loud voice boomed over the crowded streets of Rabanastre. A very hefty man was seen chasing after a young girl wearing a cloak that covered her whole body.
"I said I was sorry!"The girl shouted back, doing her best not to lose her balance. She weaved between the crowd, trying not to run into anyone, whereas the man was simply shoving people out of his way."I didn't mean to hurt you, sir! Please forgive me!"She pleaded, but this did not slow the man down.
"You mages and your damn fireballs! You aren't getting off the hook that easy!"He shouted. Suddenly the girl lost her balance and fell face first onto the ground. There was no way she could get up and start running in time. All she could do was pray someone would help her.

OOC: Final Fantasy-esque RP, many locations and people and stuff will be from the games but it does not actually take place in a specific FF World. Serenity is an Arcane Mage, meaning she is a master of all magic...or rather, she would be, but all she can really do successfully is white magic and summoning her own Eidolon, everything else either fails or backfires. She usually comes out unharmed, but those around her are never safe. Over time she may learn to control her powers, though...
