PostSubject: Re: The Curse of Blue Dahlia Manor   Mon Nov 02, 2009 9:11 pm

Her lips brushed over his cheeks, and his heart pounded fiercely in his chest. Why was she leaving with him? Why didn't she ask him to take her to the gardens? He stood and watched her leave with Deacon. Deacon didn't feel comfortable taking her arm the way Emiri and Terran did, so he walked along her side out to the gardens. It was dark when they stepped outside, but the garden was lit up with little specks of lights, like the stars themselves were buried within the flowers and along the path. To their left were lilies, and to their right were the tulips.

"We don't have much variety, there are mainly 4 sections. But in each section, we've got different types of flowers. Our gardens are mostly famous for the Blue Dahlias. The Blue Dahlias are a rare breed, in this country there are only 2 sections. Here and at the Emperor's Castle. Ours is bigger." He flashed a grin as he directed her to the center of the garden. "Our grandparents started the Blue Dahlias, the Emperor was jealous. After my grandparents death, their mage went to the Emperor. He was a Plant Mage, the most powerful one in the land. He created a small garden of Blue Dahlias for the Emperor, and died shortly after."

He paused, turning to her, and smiled down at her sadly. "Sorry, you probably don't want to know all of this history. It's pretty boring." They continued down the path, and he pointed to their left. On the edge were the most elegant black roses. "Black Roses are rare, too. But it's not what we're famous for. A few other places in the country have them too." He turned to the right at the end of the path, leading her to the center of the blue dahlia section.

"Because our mage was the first to create the blue dahlia, we came up with the meaning. My grandmother was beautiful. But she was very vain. She was notable for being an 'ice queen'. Blue was her favorite color, and she wanted her own special flower. Dahlias were her favorite flowers, probably because that was her name. Dahlia. She wanted her own special flower, and then my grandfather gave it to her. Just like that. The Plant Mage tried for years to create the flower. Something happened, and it blossomed soon after the 5 year mark. A few days after that, my grandmother was dead. About a week later, my grandfather died. And two weeks after that, the Plant Mage died." He shrugged, but his eyes told another story. He seemed to be deep in thought. "The servants started calling the flower a Cursed Beauty."

Deacon reached out, and gently plucked a flower from it's stem. His voice was thoughtful, and hardly above a whisper. His tone was a bit sad, but somehow a bit light. A great storyteller was what the servants would have said. He was empathetic, and though he wasn't there when it happened, he told there story like he was there. Carefully, he reached up with the flower cupped in his palm, and tucked it behind her ear, her soft locks of gold fell around it, and it made her blue eyes shine even more brilliantly in the night. His hand lingered over her cheek, and his fingers tips brushed her cheek gently. "I hope I haven't been an awful tour guide, sometimes I let the story overcome me. I haven't told it in... well since Emiri came. About a year ago." The corners of his soft pink lips pulled up in a gentle smile.

ooc: whoa, long post. xD but it was necessary, the history is key to the story xP

Malory stood as dinner finished, about to tell Terran where she was headed when she heard Emiri and Cian talk. When Emiri looked at them, Malory almost went to save her, but she agreed to speak to Cian, so Malory dropped the subject. She smiled reassuringly at her friend, wishing her luck.

As Deacon and Terran spoke, the hair on Malory's arms stood up. She felt a tension, a nerviousness, that she wasn't accustomed to; confrontation. She looked up at Terran, smiling gently. "He offered to show me, so I thought it would be nice. Meet me for breakfast, ok? Sleep tight," she said before leaning over and pecking him on the cheek, her way of hopefully ending the tension. Once Malory looked back at Deacon she saw his look, shivering. She didn't know what was happening, but it made her slightly fearful. Not of him, however. Just of the situation. She smiled at Deacon, moving to his side, "I'm ready," she said with a smile, looking over her shoulder at Terran before they left the room.

OOC: I really like it :) Um, I'll have to research to see who I'd want to be. I'm familiar with the greek and roman gods, I'm just out of practice, lol. I used to be a walking book about them, lol. I was thinking Orpheus's kid, I really like him. Although he is just a hero, not a god :/ That one I would be able to play best. She could have the singing ability and the power to win people over with it, Idk. I shall think about it :) But I want to do it! Let me know when you are ready to start it :)

ooc: well i was thinking, the gods will have... like kids. over the years, they've still mated with humans, or their blood has been passed down through the generations. but they don't have powers, or know who they are because the gods haven't come to them an told them. demi-gods i suppose? xD; and only the strong of heart have the abilities. but the gods/goddess are in danger an they flee mount Olympus. they flee mount Olympus, an send Hermes to tell their kids who they are. being told, they are shown memories of their mothers/fathers and the gods. and their powers awaken or whatever. i was thinking, Aphrodite kid could have like.. power of persuasion with touch. Zeus's kid would have lightning. Hades's kid would be able to summon the dead. Apollo's would have fire. etc. etc. whoever we decide to play an they've got to go to mount Olympus, which is a test. and figure out whats going on.
if you've heard of the greek gods, or are familar, that's great. if not, then i don't want to push this on you. xD but derek definitely wants to be Zeus's kid. and i was thinking i'd like to be either apollo's or Aphrodite's kid, in case you wanted to be one of those. you got any favorites or any ideas? im thinking the titans will be the enemy. it'll be an adventure/self-discovery-like roleplay.

When dinner was finished, Terran was beginning to lead Malory away. A few servants came in, cleaning up around them and avoiding eye contact. Moira, Dean and Mac were already gone. Cian and Deacon had lingered around, Cian was trying to claim Emiri's attention. "I want to spend a bit of time with you, talk to you about tomorrow." He whispered gently, his voice soft. almost like a caress. It was a tone he rarely used. Emiri glanced over at Terran and Malory, and she nodded. "O-okay." She agreed, and Cian placed an arm over her shoulder and they walked out together, a rare smile on his face.

Deacon approached Malory, looking over at Terran. "Do you wanna head out?" He asked, tilting his head to the side. Terran looked between them. "Out?" Deacon looked up at Terran, a friendly smile on his face. "I was gonna show Malory the gardens. Thought maybe she'd like to see them, see how the Manor got it's name." He grinned, then looked back down at her. Not hospitality showed in his eyes at all.

ooc: can you get into the chatbox? or maybe PM me your number again, cause i use dereks phone now. it'll be easier to tell you the plot an such. but derek an i were thinking of playing like... 2 chars each. would you be okay with that? if not, one's good. =] do you know anything about the greek gods? or mythology?

Malory paused with her mouth open as everyone fell quiet. Her mouth stayed open, however, as Deacon spoke. Surely he was joking? And if he was, what was he speaking about. She didn't get anything he was saying. When he was finished, she smiled at him unsure, "Ok. Thank you, Deacon," she said quietly. She figured she would be able to ask him in full once they were alone later.

Malory smiled over at Terran and nodded at his words, "Sure, I've never been, sounds great," she said, but not in her usual tone. She was vastly confused by all of the recent events. She shook her head, maybe she would understand soon.

OOC: Heeeey!!! :) Um, sure! I'll try it! Who do you want me to play??? I always make room for you, Em :) Happy All Hallows Eve to you as weeeell!!

The whole table seem to quiet for a moment as everyone absorbed what Malory just said. To Deacon. And not to Emiri or Terran. Deacon didn't look around smugly, and he didn't pause to register that she was talking to him. "A lot of demons. Some witches and wizards." He said it nonchalantly, as if it were no big deal. "They're mostly old family friends." Turning his head to peer over at Cian, he said, "I think Cian's sister and father will be there tomorrow night." He tilted his head, and Cian nodded mutely, picking at his food. He didn't seem pleased.

"Oh, and the Lord of the Land will be there tomorrow night." He leaned forward, as if expressing a secret. "And get this, it's a chick. That's a first in our land. She was her father's only child." Then he leaned back against his chair, picking up his fork again. Dean's eyes darted between his brother and the new blonde. His jaw clenched for a moment, but Terran caught it. He didn't look at Dean, but he turned his head to look at Malory. "Tomorrow, before the ball, we should go to the pool room. You haven't used the sauna yet, have you?" He asked Malory, his eyes drifting over to Emiri. She nodded animatedly. "That sounds awesome!"

ooc: heeeey. heather x3 I know you're going on a break, but i was wondering, would you be interested in a group rp? with me and derek? it's about the greek gods. happy halloween!

Malory took her place at the table and smiled, ready to eat and glad she was seated by her friends. She could smell the food and once again her stomach rumbled. She was distracted on that until Emiri spoke to her. Malory bit her lip and nodded, trying to think of something to say to Deacon that didn't sound lame.

She took a few bites of food before feeling brave enough to speak. Food in her stomach always made her feel better. If she wasn't always moving, she would be overweight. "So um, Deacon ... who besides us will be coming to the ball tomorrow?" she asked curiously. It was a topic she had wondered about.

OOC: Ah, that's what I thought :) Oh, that'll be cool ^_^

When dinner was finally finished, everyone met in the main dining hall. Cian took his place at his end of the table, and Dean was sitting opposite of him. Beside him to his left was his brother, Moira in the middle, and Mac on the end, on Cian's right. Terran was on Dean's right, Malory was in between him and Emiri. Emiri liked it this way, that way they could both talk to Malory, and she could talk to Mac. Sadly, she was seated on Cian's left, and he claimed most of her attention.

Dinner was served a few moments after they were seated. "Mac, how are the arrangements coming along?" Cian asked, taking his eyes off of Emiri for a few moments. Cian seemed to be oblivious to Emiri's distracted look, and didn't seem to notice she'd glance at Mac every once in a while. While Cian was occupied, she turned to Malory. She nudged her gently, whispering quietly in her ear, "Talk to him about something...." All of the clatter and noise in the room made it difficult for the other demons to hear. Moira captured Cian's attention, and she drove him into a conversation about a commotion the servants had caused last year. Terran leaned back, looking behind Malory. He rolled his eyes in Moira's direction, and caused Emiri to burst out in random bouts of laughter.

ooc: yeah, dean an deacon are the original owners of the manor. they lost control financially, and brought cian in to help them. he was a family friend. im glad you like the layout. 8D gonna do a layout of the gardens soon too, and the north wing is a secret. 8D

Malory was smiling up at Terran until Emiri came forward and joined arms with her, then she turned her attention to her female best friend. At first she thought nothing of the sudden closeness, but at Emiri's words, Malory blushed furiously and coughed. She glanced behind her as Emiri said so, but saw Deacon's eyes averted. She cringled her nose in confusion.

She leaned closer to Emiri in response, smiling but trying to hide it. "I'm not going to lie, he's a really great person. And handsome, I'll admit," she said with a big blush. "And if you vouch for him, I trust you above all else," she said to her friend, winking. She was generally a shy person, but with Deacon earlier, she felt at ease. And he did own the house she was staying in (right?). She should atleast get to know him better, potential feelings aside. Her heart fluttered in her chest as emotions tumbled quickly through her.

"I'd love to teach you a few techniques." He responded back, looking forward to tonight and trying to arrange a time in his head that they could start martial arts training. It would have to be after the ball. He wasn't offended when she moved to Terran's side. He just casually step aside until he was walking along Emiri. Although it didn't seem it, him and the raven haired girl were close. Deacon didn't keep to himself, and when he wasn't out walking the land, he was enjoying the company of Mac and Emiri. Mac knew him more then Emiri did, but that was because there were things he couldn't share with a woman. Deacon would tell them stories of his travels, and he wasn't shy to keep the stories from the servants either. Often he would pull them away from their duties to tell them what he experienced.

Emiri beamed up at him, her eyes darting conspicuously over to Malory. Deacon's smile faltered for a moment, and Emiri stopped walking, darting behind Terran, who was smiling back at Malory. She pushed her way through the pair, and looped her arm into Malory's, tugging her to walk ahead of the boys. She hurriedly walked out of the other dining room and down the hall. Leaning close to Malory, she whispered in hr ear very softly, "Did you see the way he looked at you? And I bet now, if you were to look back, you'd catch Deacon still looking at you." She flicked her head over her shoulder, but Deacon's sensitive ears had caught her, and he was turning his head away just as she turned back. Terran's human ears hadn't heard a word, but he frowned slightly at Emiri's hushed whisper. "He is a fine piece of meat, Mal. Don't let him slip away just yet." She grinned wickedly. Deacon found himself grinning when he heard those words.

Malory listened to Deacon with interest, impressed by him. He was truly a well-rounded individual. She smiled at him, nodding. "Very impressive. I've always wanted to learn martial arts, perhaps you could teach me?" she asked hopefully, hoping she hadn't pushed too much. She might as well have a goal to work toward while she was here, finding more out about the people she lived with. She blushed at his touch and his closeness, finding it comforting in a way.

At his offer she smiled and nodded enthusiastically, "Certainly! I'd like that very much," she said happily. As he turned to Terran and Emiri and mentioned dinner, she smiled wider, her stomach already rumbling despite the snack earlier. "Great! I'm sooo hungry," she said to Deacon as she moved loyaly to Terran's side, turning so that she faced all three. She smiled up at her blonde friend.
