I was born into a life filled with comforts, riches, and a code of conduct. To many this type of life was worth fighting for..but this life was a cage. I had riches and a status in society but what I did not have was worth than all the money in the world. What those aspects of life I was missing would be brought to my attention by the most peculiar of circumstances.

"Port Rochelle, the greatest Port on the Coast of France and England," hummed an English Gent. He was hunched over some papers that he brought out into the garden. The English Gent Huffed a little his pot belly getting in his way and causing his little legs to shake. His pale skin wrinkling around his mouth as he beamed about the port that he governed. Yes, This was the Governor of Port Rochelle. His name was Governor Wellington and he a man who loved to boast of his achievements and riches!
The Governor was in the process of setting up his very own display case for his latest crown jewel. This jewel was a deep blue with jagged edges and cuts into it that allowed light to burst through giving off many different shades of blue as well. Governor Wellington named the gem the heart of the ocean, for it is said to give the powers of the ocean to who ever can control it, and to celebrate the finding of the gem there was to be a huge party at the Governor's mansion!
"Another party....how boring," mumbled a petite woman from a balcony.
This petite figure's name was Elizabeth Wellington or little lizzy for short. She was the port's angelic beauty but her family's little spit fire. When she was younger she refused to under take the rules of being a lady, but as the years slipped by so did Lizzy's strength to fight the rules of her birth. She found herself thrown into a specialized classes when she was eight...all because she dressed in boy clothes and ran about the house pretending to be a pirate. Her father's reaction to this event hurled Elizabeth into strict rules of being a lady.
Now at the sharp age of 17 this young woman spent her days reading novels and keeping her dreams to herself. She would have to keep her true self locked away and play the part of the normal rich girl of the 17th century. She stood up at her full height of 5'4 as she shuffled into her bedroom. It was time to get ready and she stood there while her maids strung up her corset taking in her small torso. Then came the endless layers of blue fabric. As soon as the fabric was on Lizzy was shoved into a chair her long curly brown hair brushed and assembled into a tight bun. Her dark eyes studied the sinking sun as her head maid did her makeup. She could hear the booming laughter and music min the ballroom.
"You must be excited, Miss! You might find a suitor tonight," cheered her maid.
"Maybe...." replied Lizzy.
Her eyes distant at the thought of her decided future of marrying rich and bearing children. She kept it to herself and grinned, "I really cant wait!"
The final touches were done as she strolled down the stairs to the entry way. Several guests burst into either smiles or whispers. Her stomach twisting as their eyes pierced her pale flesh and her breathe becoming short due to her corset. Her father pressed the key to the jewel's case into her hand.
"Keep this safe...," her father mumbled in worry. His daughter rolling her eyes. She couldn't take the stares anymore and hide the key in between her breasts.
The party raged on for awhile and as the atmoshpere grew to tiring she escaped to the garden where the jewel was displayed in a case for select guests to see. Elizabeth pressed her fingers to the case gently looking at the blue jewel, ocean's heart. Her gaze held the glimmer of the stone just as something cold pressed into her back...........
