"I think Drapion is confused..." Sly said. "Drapion! Crunch!" He called out. It bit itself. "I think that its done." Sly said. "Broznor! Flash Cannon!" Josie called out. Bronzor fired the Flash Cannon. It connected with Drapion and knocked it away. Drapion was knocked out. "Drapion is unable to battle." The ref said. "Man... Josie is a feirce girl. She hasn't lost a pokemon yet..." Sly said. "What's victor going to use next?" Sly asked. "Ready up! Gliscor!" He called out. Gliscor came out. "Gliscor!? I thought he trained Poison types..." Josie said to her self. "I wonder how Bronzor is going to handle this..." Sly said. "Gliscor has an advantage..." He continued. "Bronzor! Psybeam!" She called out. "Gliscor! Double team!" Victor called out as Gliscor's body image multiplied. "Gliscor! Earth Power!" He called out as it unleashed the powerful attack. Bronzor was knocked out from the attack. Josie was surprise. "Bronzor is unable to battle." The ref said. "Man... That was quick." Sly said.

As the battle moved on Rina was having trouble sitting still. Sly had told her that her Pidgey would be useful, but she just had a feeling her Squirtle would help her a lot too. "I'm just worried water and gust won't be enough. Ariel Ace is a good attack and Victor isn't backing down or even sweating a bit." She says. Rina shakes her head. "You can't think like that, trust your pokemon." She says to herself. She then watches as poison attacks are sent into the air and the pokemon go head on. She also takes a few notes on what pokemon are effected by and what is better to use against certain pokemon. There was a small shiver of fear going through RIna's body. She was also relieved that she didn't have to fight the Bronzor, but was a little worried about the Drapion that she might have to face in the near future. She was careful to study both trainers, so as to have future knowledge on possible battles. SHe was careful to notice VIctor on the count she would need to get the badge from him soon.

Sly looked over at Rina. "You have Pidgey, remember?" He said as he patted her on the back. "But I think that there is more than beating bug types. This is a poison gym..." He said as he looked on at the match. "Pidgeotto! Ariel Ace!" Josie called out as it connected with Beedrill. "Beedrill! Sludge Bomb!" The attack connected and both pokemon seemed tired. "Pidgeotto! Ariel Ace!" Josie called out and made Beedrill knocked out. "Beedrill is unable to battle!" The ref said. Josie had a confident look on her face. "Beedrill return." Victor pulled out another pokeball. "Drapion! Ready up!" He called out a Drapion. "He has a Drapion!?" Sly said. (Drapion is the evolved form of Skorupi) "Return, Pidgeotto." She thought about who to choose. "Bronzor. Go!" Josie called out. "Nice choice... Bronzor has an immunity to poison attacks. But, Drapion has an immunity to psychic attacks." Sly said. "GO!" The ref said. "Bronzor! Flash Cannon!" She called out. "Drapion! Fire Fang!" Victor called out. It connected with Bronzor. Victor smirked at the attack hitting. "THat should do it..." He was cut off by seeing that Bronzor not being that hurt. "What's up?" Josie was smiling. "My Bronzor has Heatproof. Fire attacks only do half damage to Bronzor." She said. "Bronzor! Gyro Ball!" She called out. It connected with Drapion. "Now Confuse Ray!" She called. "Drapion! Crunch!" He called out. It crunched and was hit by the Confuse Ray. Drapion staggared a bit.

Rina takes what Sly just said about the girl into her mind as the battle starts. "Wind against a bug." She says softly taking note of the match up. Looking to her side she taps Sly. "Would my pokemon be any good against bug types?" She asks as a rain of needles appears on the field. Watching carefully she notices that each train seems to have a good relationship with their pokemon. She then glances at Sly. From what she remembers, Rina couldn't hold back her smile. Her new friend had a good relationship with his pokemon. Thinking about it she held her pokeball a little closer. Her pokemon and her got along pretty well. They trusted her enough to listen and follow her instructions, even if some of them were a little weird. Watching the battle made her want to try battle Victor herself. She knew he was stronger and had a lot more time with his pokemon, but she just wanted to battle him. Whether it was just in her blood or the rush of seeing a good battle, she didn't know. THe battle seemed to become more heated with each second.

Sly shook his head. "I never heard of her. She must be new." He said as they went to the stands. The arena floor was made of wood and was a traditional battlefield. There was a girl in the middle. "This will be a 3 on 3 battle between Victor, the Ft. Topaz Gym leader, and the challenger from the Aquamarine Isles, Josie. Also, only the challenger may substitute pokemon." Josie had a serious expression. "I'll call out first!" Victor said. "Ready up! Beedrill!" He called out his Beedrill. "Go... Pidgeotto!" Josie said as she called out the bird pokemon. "Ladies, first." Victor said. "Pidgeotto, Gust!" Josie called out. The wind was very powerful. "She knows what she is doing..." Sly said. "Using a flying type versus a bug type." He seemed impressed as did Victor. Beedrill fell backward. "That was a good move, but don't count Beedrill out yet! Beedrill! Toxic!" Beedrill launched a goopy attack that landed on Pidgeotto. Josie gritted her teeth. "Poison Spikes!" Victor called out.Beedrill lauched a bunch of spikes around the battlefield.

Rina followed Sly to the gym where they met Victor again. Everything was fine, except for his challenger. For some reason Rina just didn't want her to win at all. She was rude and just seemed rotten. "Good luck." She says though the girl ignored her. One thing was for sure Victor didn't seem scared at all. THe practice would be good for Rina. She would get to see Victor's pokemon, though he probably wouldn't use the same pokemon on her. This new girl though Rina knew nothing about. She didn't seem scared, but ready. Her confidence was just unsightly to Rina. "Hey Sly if I ever act like that." She whispers making a little eye contact with Josie. "You can slap me." She finishes before heading into the gym in front of Josie. "Hey do you know anything about that Josie girl?" Rina asks Sly. For some reason even saying her name made Rina want to gag.

Sly smiled. "I got a Philly Cheesesteak." He took a bite from it. "Its really good too." He took a drink from his root beer. "So, I wonder what poison pokemon Victor is going to use. He seems like he knows what he is doing. I also wonder what his challenger tonight is like and what type of pokemon he or she will use as well. This is going to be fun." They finished the sandwiches and paid for them. They looked at the clock. "Let's head to the gym. It's about time for that challenge." Sly said as he said as they left the place. They made it to the gym and it had a cool looking outside. They made their way in. They saw Victor at the front door. "Hey, you two are early. Well, the challenger is a little late." Victor said. "Sorry... I was training a bit at the last minute." A female voice said as it was a scruffy looking girl. "I am here to challenge the gym leader." She said. She looked at Rina and Sly. "Is there a line?" She asked. "Oh no. The girl here is tomorrow's challenger. You are up now, Josie." "Good." She said.

Rina nods now at the shop. "I think they have sandwiches and soups. I'm not a hundred percent sure though. ANd that sounds good. It will let me know how much more work I need to do." She says with a smile. The waitress takes them to a small table and hands them a menu. After a few minutes the lady returns with a small pad of paper. "What would you two like to drink?" She asks. Rina then places her order and waits for Sly. The lady leaves with the orders and returns after a few minutes with their food. Looking at the dishes Rina smiles. "What did you get?" She asks taking a bite from her sandwich and a sip of her soda.

Victor waved at them as he heard Rina's proclamation. "Can't wait. If you want to see how a gym leader battles, I have a challenge tonight." He said before leaving. Sly smiled as he had a small, barely noticable tint to his face. He thought about the meal options. "I'll eat anything that you would. I am a bit open for anything." He said as he looked around the places. "We should take Victor up on his offer. It will give you a good measure on how he battles." He said with a smile.

Rina smiled at SLy. "Thanks." She says looking at her pokeball. She then closes her eyes for a couple of seconds before calling after Victor. "Hey! I see you tomorrow so don't forget!" She yells loud enough for him to hear. SHe then looks at Sly. "For the rest of today how does a meal and rest sound to you?" She asks. After waiting for his answer Rina took his hands and lead him back into town. "I'm going to go look around for a bit." She says before taking off to see her first town away from home. She comes back after around fifteen minutes. "Okay I found it. I found where you get food here." She says happily leading Sly over to the shop she found.

Sly smiled. "Gym leaders are strong. They are usually the best in the city. They are usually experts in their specified types." He took a hold of Rina's hands. "You will be fine. Just believe in your pokemon and show confidence in them. There is nothing more that they can do than there best. Show that you think they came win, then they will give their best." Victor smiled at the interaction. "Well, don't rush yourself." He said with a smile. "I will be at the gym all day today and tomorrow. I wish you good luck." He walked away from them.

Rina let out a gasp. She knew he was strong, but a gym leader was just amazing. SHe first looked over at Sly then at her pokeballs. "I think I see after my pokemon get the rest they need." She says happily. "They will pick when they feel it's time." She says with a smiles before taking a seat on the nice grass. As soon as Victor turns she grabs Sly's arm. "How strong is a gym leader?" She asks trying to decide whether or not she is ready for the battle to come. "You say how they did, do you think they are ready? I mean I know they have gotten stronger and everything, but it's still a little frightening to have your first gum battle." She says holding a pokeball tight in her hand.
