Kazue held back a growl as they dragged him through an old fashioned village. 'They didn't have to tie me up, and they didn't have to drag me!' He thought as he glared at his captures. he landed on the ground with a thud, and squirmed himself to sit up. "Well that was just rude." He muttered to himself. He really didn't want to be shot at again. Kazue couldn't help but twitch. 'Are they insulting me? And what about my hair!' He thought in annoyance. That was when he actually glanced around. 'Top knots, old kimono's, geta sandals... What is up with these people? Have I walked into one of those history plays?' He wondered, arching an eyebrow.

He blinked when the door opened and an old woman came out. He blinked as she starred at him, and tilted his head in confusion. 'She looks like she's seen a gjost.' He thought. He sighed in relief when she said to release him. Once they cut him free he rubbed his wrists glareing at them. "Don't act so high and mighty. Your the ones that thought I was a demon." He said in a deapanned voice.

Kazue sat down and starred at the woman who was appearently in charge around here. He sighed at what she said and ran his hand through his hair. "Where to begin? My name is Fugiko Kazue. I'm from Tokyo Japan, and I live in teh Fugiko shrine. I don't know what the Fujiwara forest is, but if your talking about the place I was... I don't know. I feel down a well and was surronded y a starnge blue glow and a monster woman who looked like a centipied, or something. When it stopped glowing and I reached the bottom I climbed up and out. And that's why I was in teh forest. I don't know anything else." He said dropping his head in slight depression.

He sat leaning his head in his hand. The old man across from him continued talking, while he continued to ignore him. Who cared about the story of some ‘mystic’ jewel anyway? Jewelry was for girls anyway. He glanced at the boxes filled with small purple/pink balls hooked to key chains, and jerked the one in his hand in front of the pet cat. He blinked lazily and yawned. “Kazue are you listening to me!” He jerked back with wide eyes and stared at the angry old man with wide eyes. “Uhh…” He muttered. The old man sat back with his arms crossed and eyes closed. “Humph, I’m starting to think you don’t appreciate me at all. And stop letting Byakko play with that! It’s an exact replica of the Sacred Jewel!” He shouted with a scandalized expression. He sweat dropped, smiling nervously. “It’s not that Grandpa, I just don’t find legends that important.” He said twitching slightly, and placing the keychain on the table. The old man slammed his hand on the table. “Then start listening because this is very important.” He said picking up one of the key chains. “These legends have been passed down in our family for centuries. They are important. And it will be your job to pass them on in the future. And if you don’t listen I’ll put you through reading the ancient scripts again!” He said glaring at the boy. He sat up straight and nodded. “Listening!” He said. His grandfather nodded crossing his arms. “I suppose I can’t hope for too much, it is your birthday after all.” He said nodding his head. The boy grinned, leaning forward with his hands on the table. “Speaking of my birthday, you wouldn’t happen to have a present for me would you?” He asked. His grandfather smiled happily. “Why yes of course. It’s not every day that your young man turns 15, now is it?” He asked standing and walking toward the shelf of objects. Kazue twitched slightly as he held the small dried up creature foot in his hand. “What kind of present is this old man?!” He shouted throwing the foot at the old man’s head.

He reached down checking that his shoes were on correctly, and opened the door leaving the house. “I’m heading to school, see you later!” He shouted over his shoulder as he slid the door closed with a sigh. ‘Another useless birthday. You think I would actually get something I asked for.’ He thought huffing as he started for the stairs down the shrine. He blinked pausing when he saw his little sister standing beside the well house. He frowned and walked over. “Ai what are you doing over there? You know you’re not allowed near the well, it’s dangerous.” He said with a bored expression. The girl spun around and glared at him with her arms crossed. “I know that Kazue, I’m not stupid!” She shouted. Kazue blinked. “Sometimes I wonder…” He muttered. She glared harder. “What was that?!” She demanded. “Nothing, nothing.” He said waving his hand. “Then what are you doing over here?” He asked as he crouched down beside her, still holding his jacket over his shoulder. “Byakko’s trapped down there!” She said pointing. Sure enough Kazue could hear mewls and clawing. “I guess I should get him out huh?” He asked in annoyance as he stood. He rolled his eyes as Ai clung to his pant leg and slid the door open. “Byakko!” He called. They stood there waiting but nothing happened. Kazue sighed in irritation. “Stupid cat…” He muttered walking in and down the stairs. Ai whimpered but stayed up at the door. Kazue looked around but couldn’t see Byakko. “Where is that dumb cat?” He asked walking toward the well. He paused when he heard what sounded like scratches. They seemed to be coming from inside the well. He frowned and stopped in front of it. ‘He couldn’t have gotten in there could he? No it’s completely sealed off.’ He thought bending down closer. He jerked back when Byakko jumped into his arms, and he sighed. Turning to Ai he held up the cat for her to see, and she smiled happily.

Blue light sped along the well, destroying the seals as his back was turned. An explosion occurred bursting the wooden lid. Ai’s eyes widened at the glowing blue surge behind her brother. Kazue turned just in time to see it, and be jerked down into the glowing mess. All he heard was Ai screaming his name. Everything around him was a bright glowing blue. His eyes moved around trying to find out where he was. Suddenly he felt arms grab him again and he was spun around. He stared in shock at the monster like woman that had a hold of him. “The Sacred Jewel. I can feel its powers. You have it give it to me!” She demanded, shaking him. ‘What are you talking about!” He shouted trying to get away. “I must have it!” She said again, running her tongue over his face. Kazue winced and glared. “I don’t know what you’re talking about now….” He said bringing his hand up to push at her face. “Let go!” He shouted. Golden light seemed to shoot out of his hand and pushed the creature away. Kazue looked at his hand blinking. A second later he landed softly on the well’s ground. He blinked flexing his hand. “What was that?” He asked looking around. “Did I hit my head or something? A delusion?” He wondered. He froze spotting the creature’s arm which had been blasted off and sweat dropped. “Maybe not…” He muttered. He stood and looked up to the top of the well. “Ai! Get grandfather and get me out of here!” He shouted. A few seconds later he growled. “AI!” He screamed. Still nothing. Growling he made his way to the side of the well and grabbed the vines beginning to climb. “Why that no good brat! Gets me in this situation and won’t even help me…” He muttered on his way up.

He sighed once he got over the top and froze. “This isn’t the well house…” He muttered to himself looking around the forest. He sat down and tried to find some sign of his house. ‘What’s going on?’ He wondered, and stood. “Guess I’ll just have to find my way back.” He muttered and started in the direction his house would have been in. However on the way he spotted the God Tree and sighed in relief. ‘If I can see it then I’m close to home, and things will go back to normal…’ He thought. He ran in that direction, thinking of how much trouble Ai would get in. He froze however when he reached the tree. There was a girl pinned to the tree. An arrow went through her chest, and vines wrapped around her. She almost seemed asleep or dead. ‘But why is an arrow sticking out of her, maybe she is dead.’ He thought with a frown. ‘Are those ears?’ He wondered walking over to the girl and climbing up the large roots. He leaned in close. ‘She’s breathing, but it’s like she is sleeping…’ He thought, and reached up tugging on an ear. He jerked his hand back and starred at her with wide eyes. ‘They are real!’ He thought in shock and shook his head. ‘I don’t have time for this! I have to get home.’ He decided and turned to leave, only for an arrow to wiz by his face. “Stay right where you are demon!” One of the men shouted. ‘Demon, but I’m not a…’ “I’m not a demon.” He said with a frown. “We said be silent!” Another shouted and they released their arrows. Kazue’s eyes widened and he dodged barely but froze in shock allowing them to capture him. ‘What is going on!’ He shouted mentally.
